(9) Carter Is A Sexy Beast
I Made A Bet With The Bad Boy ✔️
*Carter's POV*
"Goddamn Carter. Your acting like my little sister on her period." Heath teased.
"Shut it. Get to the point. There's obviously something you want to know. What did you guys want to talk about." I snapped, falling over onto his couch.
"Fine." Parker sighed. "I mean ever since the incident with Cassie, you've been acting like like a major asshole." Parker raised an eyebrow, dribbling a basketball he found in Heath's closet.
That's what they wanted to talk about? Cassie? Is that why they've been so fucking concerned?
"Guys! I don't get the huge deal! I don't even like her. She isn't even my type...I just met her like 2 or 3 weeks ago." I rolled my eyes, burying my head in his pillow.
"Then why'd you kiss her? Why are you overreacting"
"Cause she wouldn't calm the fuck down! I panicked!" I yelled, but quickly calmed down after seeing their faces."Listen, I didn't mean to say anything. I guess I got overprotective when Miles was with her."
"Well if you didn't mean it, then shouldn't you go and apologize." Heath grinned, flashing me a toothy smile.
"I mean...Imagine if you would never apologize." Parker chuckled.
"I bet she's already running off with some guy...Miles maybe?"
"Oh yea. Miles is hot."
"Gay much?"
"Shut it. You know what I mean."
"Guys shut up!" I yelled, trying to stop them.
"Carter. Just go and apologize to Cassie." Parker pleaded.
"You know, she really could run along with some other guy. He could break her heart and be the wrong one for her." Heath, narrowed his eyes.
I never really thought of it like that...
Fuck. I need to go.
"Guys I'm leaving. See you on Monday."
And with that, I left and hopped onto my motorcycle. I need to get to Cas.

I ran up to the front porch of her house. Palms sweaty. Heart racing...Butterflies?
Nah. I don't get nervous. Especially over a girl. It's not like I'm asking her out.
Then why are you so nervous over her?
"Hi...Hello..." A lady with features similar to Cas, most likely her mother, answered the door. She was in a pink robe and had her hair piled on top of her head.
"Sorry to interrupt....I'm one of Cassie's friends, Carter, and I really need to talk to her. It's important." I pleaded.
"I'm super sorry. She's not here at the moment...She's on a date." She winked. "I'm sure she'll be back though. Teenagers with their sudden urge for romance."
A date? A fucking date?
"A date with who?" I narrowed my eyes.
"I'm actually not quite sure...I'm taking a break off of work for a couple weeks to get to know more about Cas and Charlie's lives." She giggled. "Would you like to come inside and wait?"
"Nah. I'll wait outside. I need to watch my bike."
"Oh ok...I'm going out to the store for maybe 30 minutes. I'm sure you can talk to Cassie when she arrives." She smiled, checking her watch.
"Sure."

*Cassie's POV*
I'm not going to describe the date for two reasons.
Number 1: Miles is a pig. He eats like a pig. Snorts like a pig. Laughs like a pig. Just a pig. Not a sexy pig like Carter.
Ew. Did I just call Carter sexy?
Forget I said that.
Number 2: The date was overall horrible. He took me to this weird grown up version of Chuck-E-Cheeses or whatever. Animatronics and everything.
Forget everything I said about him. Maybe I said he was hot or something, but I regret it.
"Here we are! I'm looking forward to seeing you again-"
"K byeeeee Miles!" I basically jumped out of the car and over to the front door. Finally out of my misery.
"Cas."
Shoot. What do you do when the only person you don't want to see is right behind you? You ignore them.
"Cassie."
Shoot. I forgot the keys.
"Cassiopeia."
Shoot. I'm locked out.
"What Carter." I turn around, glaring at him.
"Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears."
"What do you want-"
"I'm not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together."
"Carter shut up-"
"If you were a vegetable you'd be a cute-cumber.
Ok that last one got me. Damn me and my obnoxious ability to laugh at everything. Gosh darn it.
"I knew I could get a laugh out of you." He smiled.
"What do you want." I rolled my eyes.
And why are you being so nice after what happened?
"You know Cassie...Your being quite a bitch right now." He chuckled, looking down and scratching the back of his neck.
"Oh kiss my ass." I muttered. I'm still mad at him.
"I mean I'd love to Cassie, but right now?" He smirked, a strand of hair loosely falling in front of his face.
"You know what I mean. Immature child. Get to the point Wayford. Spill it. There's something you want to tell me."
"Actually two things." He stepped closer to me. I tense up at the motion. The way he moves, so swift.
What the actual fudge am I talking about? Ew.
"Your mom went shopping so your locked out."
Duh stupid head. It's kind of obvious.
"And I feel bad for saying those things to you yesterday." He mumbled, fidgeting a bit.
Wait what? What did he say? Was Carter Wayford trying to apologize? Friggin apologize?
"Is pretty boy trying to apologize to me?" I raised an eyebrow. "Because I would love to hear the words 'I'm sorry' out loud..."
Where's a tape recorder when you need one?
"Cassie are you really going to do this-"
"Yep. In fact...I don't think I'm gonna take your apology if you don't say it." I grin, cutting him off and smirking back at him. "Go on Carter."
"Cassie-"
"Go on..." I sit down on the porch steps and causally look up and wait for the apology. At this point it's obvious I'm not mad any more. Oh how I missed all this teasing and mockery...Even if it has been just one day. I see a smirk crawl onto his face as he walks by and sits right next to me. I really needed this. Being angry is tiring.
"You know... I never heard you say the magic word." He chuckles.
"Um. Please?"
"The other magic word. You know. 'Carter is a sexy beast'. That one..." His smirk grows wider and he raises and wiggles his eyebrows.
"Ew! I'm not going to say that!" I elbow him playfully in the ribs. "I'll say 'Carter is an ugly player.' Wait, I'll say that any day."
"Ouch, that hurt my feelings princess." He playfully pouted. "I'm going to get you back for that one."
"But it's true." I rolled my eyes. It was true. If I were to get a penny for every time he slept with a girl, I'd be filthy rich. Heck, i'd probably have all the pennies in the world.
Ha. A penniless world.
"That's it Cassie!" And in an instant my phone that sat in peace right next to me was gone. Instead it was in Carter's hand.
Oh no. No he didn't.
"ARGGGGG! CARTER!" I jumped onto his back and both of us went down. Eventually we were having a tickling-wrestling contest for he phone. I was obviously losing.
"Hey lovebirds. I'm sure you had something very important to say Carter." My mom giggled, looking at the position we were in. My face grew red and hot as I quickly leapt up and left Carter on the ground.
"Hey mom. When did you get there?" I chuckled slowly.
More importantly, how long?
"Just about now. You never told me you had a boyfriend! I thought you were just on a date-No! You weren't...were you?" She gasped, glancing between us.
"Relax mother. Don't get your panties in a twist." (Ew I hate the word 'panties'.) "Carter and I are just friends and the date...Well. I'm just not going to talk about it." I sighed. I could see in the corner of my eye a look of relief on Carter's face.
"Aw. I was kind of hoping you two were together. I would totally ship Cartsie." She smiled.
When did she learn about shipping? And that horrible ship name...
"Don't worry, I would too Mrs. Davis." Carter smirked.
"He's a keeper Cassie. I like him." She whispered, winking and pulling me into a hug. "It was nice meeting you Carter!"
"Your such an embarrassment mom. You too Carter!" I yelled back at him, grinning while he swung his leg over his motorcycle.
"Oh you know you love me! By the way sunshine, the bet's back on."
"Dork." I muttered as he mocked blowing me a goodbye kiss
Oh how I can't wait for Monday.
