Episode 9

EPISODE NINE

It’s party night so I was busy getting ready, Arden called earlier, She said she’ll come over so we could go to the party together. I was still picking outfits when the door bell rang, I went to the door in my wearing only shorts and a bathrobe and opened the door

“Hey!” Arden greeted with a smile and entered my apartment. She was wearing a striped green top and a yellow bolero and those denim shorts of hers easily showed her flawless legs and her gladiator sandals totally completes her outfit , her hair was in a messy pony tail which made her look even more attractive.  I didn’t even notice until now but my eyes were following her as she enters. She turned to me and modeled her outfit

“What do you think?” she asked “too simple?”

“No, you look..amazing” I said still in awe “meanwhile I look like crap”

Arden laughed “not entirely“

I smirked “I better get ready then, make yourself at home”

Arden smiled and I went to my room, I have three outfits to choose from and I couldn’t decide so I just did the eenie meenie miney mo thing and ended up with the round neck shirt and vest with matching long jean short and sneakers, so I hurriedly got dress and went outside my room.

“Okay, let’s go” I said as I step out of my room

“Okay and You look great” Arden said with a smile “but where’s your guitar?”

“Oh right! I almost forgot” I went back and got my guitar then stepped out again “all set”

I turned to Arden and saw her staring, “What?” I asked

“Nothing, there’s just something about people with guitars that I find really attractive” she said “or maybe it’s just you” then she walked towards the door and went outside

While I stood there, still processing what she just said, wait a sec, did she just say I’m attractive?

“Nicky! Let’s go!” Arden shouted

Which snapped me back to reality “yeah, I’m coming!” I replied and quickly went outside and locked the door

We then took a cab to Kevin’s house

When we arrived, the party had already started, music was playing loudly and the house was jam pack with friends from school and friends outside of school, before we went in, I turned to Arden, took her hand and held it tight “don’t wanna lose you in there”

She smiled and we entered the house, it took us quite a while to find Kevin but eventually he found us and pulled us to his room where Jamie, Ryan and Cindy, Ryan’s girlfriend, were waiting

“What took you guys so long?” Ryan asked

“Probably had a hard time picking outfits” Jamie jokingly interjected

“Yeah I did, so sue me” I answered jokingly “Oh by the way, I brought my guitar” and showed it to them

“Excellent, the other instruments are already set up outside” Kevin said “now how ‘bout we go back outside and party a bit before we start playing”

“I totally agree”

And the six of us went outside and danced like there’s no tomorrow

After a while, Jamie tapped my shoulder and motioned me to go with her, I nodded and then turned to find Arden

“Hey! We’re gonna start playing!” I said

“Okay! I’ll just be here with Cindy and the girls!” she answered “we’ll be watching!”

I smirked and turned to Cindy “take good care of her!” I joked

Cindy giggled and gave me a thumbs up then I went to the living room where the instruments were set, Kevin and Ryan were already there with their bass guitar and drums, Jamie got our guitars and after setting the sound system, Kevin motioned the DJ to stop the music and once it stopped we started playing “Love Drunk” by Boys like Girls, which instantly caught the crowd’s attention and by the time I’m singing the chorus, almost all of them were singing along, jumping and dancing like there’s no tomorrow

“Hey guys!” Kevin shouted “we’ll be playing a few requested songs a little later, so you guys better put some song requests in that box or else!” He joked

The crowd laughed and again we started playing another song, this time it’s “Lying Is The Most Fun a Girl Can Have without taking her clothes off” by Panic! At the Disco

After that song, Kevin went to the song request box and randomly pulled a song request, the song was “Misery Business” by Paramore.

“This one’s for you Stacy!” Kevin read the dedication with the request out loud

And once we started playing, the crowd roared with excitement and started rocking along, it was awesome

Kevin pulled out another request “This one’s good, thanks for the memories! by Fall out boy!”

Again, the crowd screamed as we play the song and another song request

“Oh, this one’s a little mushy” Kevin stated and started reading the dedication “To Tricia, Thank you for always being there for me, I love you from Jake”

And the crowd let out a huge “n’aww” then one person from the crowd shouted “get a room!!” which made everyone laughed, including us and we started playing the song, all the while, I was scanning the crowd, looking for Arden but I haven’t found her yet

All of us were enjoying playing songs that Kevin continued to look at the song request

“Here’s another mushy request!” He said “You and Me by Lifehouse! Hit it!”

I was particularly excited playing this song because it’s one of my favorites and also I want to sing this to Arden, I started playing and singing while continuously scanning the crowd, I finally saw Arden, she was looking at me and smiling, I caught her gaze and stared at her

I continued staring at her while singing as if we’re the only two people in this room, nothing else mattered, I dedicate this song to you Arden

And as the song continues her smile slowly fades as she stares at me tenderly

I smiled at her and she smiled back

“Okay guys! This is the final request were playing!” Kevin said, the crowd let out a disappointed sound

“Don’t worry your little asses, there are still more parties to come!” which made the crowd laughed

Kevin continued “here’s the last song, Teenagers by My Chemical Romance”

And we started playing hard since this is the last song and the crowd party’d even harder, they shouted, jumped and sang along with us until the very end of the song

“Thanks for all the requests!!” Kevin shouted then turned to the DJ “DJ! Start up the music and let’s continue to party!!”

The music continued and the crowd screamed and danced as the four of us joined them. People started coming to us and giving us all kinds of compliments, it felt really great.

I was looking for Arden when I felt someone grab my hand and pulled me around, I looked and saw a girl with short brown hair smiling at me “hey cutie, I’m Brooke, nice voice you got there” she said, in a flirtatious way

I smiled at her, my eyes still looking around “thanks”

“You looking for someone?”

“Yeah, I’m looking for a friend”

She then stepped closer and placed her hand on my shoulder, “I’m sure your friend can wait a bit” she smirked then leaned in and kissed me

When we parted I saw Arden looking at us then quickly walking away

“Excuse me” I said and left to go find Arden

While I was looking, I bumped into Cindy

“Hey, have you seen Arden?” I asked

“Yeah, she said she was leaving” she answered

“Thanks”

And I quickly went outside the house, I saw her walking away so I ran after her, when I caught up, I grabbed her hand

“Where are you going?” I asked, still panting

“Um, I suddenly didn’t feel well so I decided to just go home” she answered then turned to me “you look like you’re busy so I didn’t bother to tel-”

What? Why is she...“Arden” I interjected “why are you crying?”

“What?” she said, surprised, then she slowly touched her cheeks and when she felt it her tears, she quickly wiped them off with her hand

I held her wrist, took my handkerchief from my pocket and wiped the tears off of her face

“If there’s something bothering you, you know you could tell me right?” I said

“Nothing’s bothering me, I didn’t even know I was crying” Arden smiled “I’m fine Nicky, don’t worry”

I looked at her with doubt and worry, she just smiled and insists that she is fine

She doesn’t want to talk about it, so I’ll just let it go for now

“Okay then” I said then reached out for her hand and held it “let’s go home”
