Episode 24

EPISODE TWENTY-FOUR

It's official, today is Friday, the last day of the first semester which means Arden's gonna leave soon but not before we all do something fun

“So, what are we doing tomorrow?“ Kevin asked, lying on his back

The six of us are at our usual hang-out, the soccer field, there’s no one playing so we get to just lay on the grass and talk

“I have no idea” Ryan answered

“Well that sucks” Kevin sat up “We’re suppose to make Arden’s last week here as fun as possible, c’mon people think of something! We only got until next Friday!”

Arden giggled “you don’t have to make it big Kevin, watching movies is fine with me as long as I get to spend my time with you guys”

I looked at Arden and smiled

“But that would be boring” Kevin said, with a pouty expression “I know! We should go horse-back riding!”

We looked at him with a what-the-hell look while Arden just laughed

“We could go camping” I suggested

“That sounds fun!” Cindy commented then turned to Arden “Don’t you think that’s fun Arden?”

“ I love nature, so definitely” Arden giggled “But seriously, we don’t need to do this guys”

“Yes, we do, we’ll make your last week here the most fun experience of your life!” Jamie smiled “one problem though, we don’t know any good camping grounds”

that's definitely a problem, we can go camping but no camping ground, this trip needs to continue, c'mon, send down some help

then I felt my phone vibrating, i pulled it out and saw Kelsey's name flashing on the screen, I quickly answered it

“Hey Kels” I said “what's up?”

“Hey! Where are you right now?” she quickly asked

“Still at school”

“Are you with Jamie and Kevin?”

“Yes, why?”

“Perfect! I’ll come over there, bye!”

“Kelsey wai-” but she already hung up

“Who’s that?“ Kevin asked

“It’s Kelsey” I said “she said she’s coming over”

“Who’s Kelsey?” Cindy asked

“My cousin”

Kelsey and I are very close, back in high school she always comes along with Jamie and me during our hang-outs so she quickly befriended her and when I went to college, she still went with us occasionally, so she met and became good friends with Kevin and Ryan as well, Kelsey goes to an all-girls private college so she doesn’t get to hang out with us as much as she wants to because of our conflicts in scheds

“That call sounds sudden” Jamie said “Is it important?”

“Don’t know, she didn’t told me anything, I guess we’ll have to find out when she gets here”

A few minutes later, we saw Kelsey walking around the field

“Hey Kelsey! Over here!!” Kevin yelled

Kelsey turned to us and ran

“Hey Kels!” Ryan greeted when Kelsey reached

“H-Hey!” Kelsey answered, still panting a bit, “Is she Cindy?” she asked looking at her

Ryan nodded

“Nice to finally meet you Cindy”

“Same here” Cindy smiled

“So what brings you here?” Jamie asked “It’s not something important, is it?”

“Well, kinda” Kelsey sat next to me “I actually want to ask a favor from the three of you” she pointed at me, Jamie and Kevin then she looked at Arden “I’m guessing you’re Arden” she smiled

“Yes I am” Arden answered “Nice to meet you Kelsey”

“You’re really pretty, no wonder Nicky-”

“Okay!” I interjected before she says anything embarassing “what were you saying again Kelsey?”

“Oh right, the favor thing” Kelsey said “Well, our school decided to have an end of the semester charity dance, the proceeds will go to an orphanage and they picked me to be the coordinator”

“That’s great Kelsey” Jamie commented

“Yeah, but what has that got to do with us?” Kevin asked

“Well, I decided to have masquerade party then a modeling/auction show”

“A what now?” Ryan asked

“A modeling/auction show, It’s where the audience can bid to have a date with a model” she explained “They think it’s a great idea so it’s already in the process, I actually submitted a few names with pictures but I need to have a confirmation to make it official and that’s why I wanted to talk to you three…”

Oh no, don’t tell me, “You didn’t” I said to Kelsey

“Well…” Kelsey reacted

“You signed us up, didn’t you?” Jamie said with a surprisingly mild tone of voice

Kelsey nodded

“That is so like you!” Kevin laughed “I’ll do it”

“Really?”

Kevin nodded “I’m always up for a blind date” he smirked

Kelsey quickly gave Kevin a hug before turning to Jamie

Jamie looked at her and smiled “fine, I’ll do it but if my date happens to be a bitch, I’m leaving”

Kelsey went to Jamie and gave her a hug

“Hold on a sec” Ryan interjected “why am I not invited to this? Am I that ugly?” he asked in a fake disappointed tone

“Of course not! I just don’t want Cindy to be angry at me and judging by the way you talk about her, I’m sure you wouldn’t even consider doing this so i didn't bother to sign you up”

“Aww…that’s so sweet Ryan” Cindy then gave him a hug

Ryan smiled “Fair enough”

And we all laughed, Ryan knows why Kelsey didn't sign him up, he just wants Kelsey to mention his reason so Cindy could hear it. His ways of being sweet to Cindy.

“What about you Nicky?” Kelsey asked with a smiling/pleading face “Please say yes”

The great Kelsey Anne Richards had put me on yet another grueling task yet again, I sighed and looked at Arden, she was already looking at me and she was smiling, as if saying that doing this is no big deal to her, I really don’t like to do this, I just really want to spend time with Arden as much as possible and Arden seems interested in going camping so that should definitely continue and i bet Kelsey can help me

“Okay, I’ll do it” I said “In one condition”

“What? I’ll do it” Kelsey answered “anything just to get you to come”

“Go on a camping trip with us” I smirked “Tomorrow”

"whoa wait, camping trip? I can't go, i'm pretty busy" she said " and why'd you want me to go with you? and why so sudden?"

"because we want to go camping tomorrow" I grinned "and because i just happen to know you that you know some good camping grounds so..."

Kelsey scoffed "we really are related and i supposed you won't do the auction show if i don't come with you guys right?"

I nodded and slyly smiled

Kelsey sighed "okay i'll go, but we only have 3 days maximum camping days okay? i can't be away for too long"

"3 days is good" i smirked

Kelsey smiled “then see you guys tomorrow at Nicky’s house, 6 am”

“You really didn’t have to do that you know” Arden said, breaking the silence as we walk home from school “I’m really okay with us just hanging at my place and doing nothing”

“I didn’t have to but I wanted to” I answered

Arden looked at me and smiled

I smiled back at her “and besides, Kevin thinks staying indoors is boring and we don’t want to upset our little kid” I said and Arden giggled then I asked “don’t you want to go camping?”

“Oh I do, I love camping, I just didn’t want you guys to feel oblige to go” she said “and I kinda don’t want your cousin to have a reason not to like me since you kinda forced her to go with us”

She worried about Kelsey not liking her? That’s cute and kinda funny, I giggled “don’t worry about that, Kelsey likes camping and she already likes you”

Arden smiled and we arrived at her place

“See you tomorrow” I said

“Bright and early” she answered

I started to walk away as she went to the front door. I looked back and thought I can’t resist not doing this, I ran back to her and called her name “Arden!!”

She looked at me with a confused expression

I stood in front of her “I forgot something” I said and quickly kissed her cheek then I waved as I ran away “Bye!!”

Arden giggled and waved
