Chapter 5
An Almighty System From On High
âWaahh!! Mommy, please donât hit me anymore!â Misael cried miserably as the woman gave him a series of slaps on his buttocks.
âHow could you?! Do you know how big of a problem youâve caused? This car is so expensive. Why canât you be more responsible!â The womanâs screams scared Misael into silence and tears.
âIâm really sorry, sir. How should we compensate you? Itâs my fault. I was negligent with my child. Iâm really sorry!â The woman apologized while also being frightened.
Adrien felt helpless. Everyone who lived there was poor. How could he force a poor person to sell their house to pay for his carâs repair costs? That would be like pushing someone to death.
Adrien asked in his mind. âSystem, does this car have insurance?â
âAll the things that the system gives to the host are complete sets. The insurance is of the highest level!â
Adrien walked over to Misael, helped him up, and said. âMisael, your parents work hard to raise you.
You canât just destroy other peopleâs property. Do you understand?â
âI understand now. Sir, Iâm sorry!â Misael apologized tearfully to Adrien.
âIf youâre still not satisfied, you can beat Misael up, but donât kill him!â the woman said with a hint of sorrow.
âWhat are you talking about? The child made a mistake, so teach him a lesson, and thatâs enough. As long as he remembers and doesnât make the same mistake again in the future, it will be fine. Whatâs the point of hitting him? Even if you hit him, he might not learn anything!â
âRight, youâre right. How much should I give you?â
Adrien looked at the drawings on the car and then at the pen in Misaelâs hand.
âMisael, you drew on my car and ruined it. As punishment, I will use this pen in your hand to draw on your face the blue sky and white clouds that you drew on my car. Do you agree?â Adrien said gently.
Misael looked confused and turned to his mother for guidance.
The woman repeatedly nodded her head, and then Misael handed the pen to Adrien. Adrien took the pen and started drawing on Misaelâs face.
After a while, Misaelâs face was covered with messy drawings, which made everyone around them laugh. Misael wanted to see himself, so Adrien picked Misael up and let Misael see himself from the car window.
âIt looks really ugly!â
âSo you canât do this again in the future, okay?â
âYes. Iâll be good from now on!â
âGood. Now go home with your mom.â Adrienâs words surprised the woman and the people watching.
âYouâre just letting her go like that when they did this to your car?â A passerby asked.
The child made a mistake, and I have punished him. I donât know how much it will cost to repair my car, but I canât make things difficult for a mother. This is enough Donât surround us anymore. I have things to do and need to leave!â
âYou youâre such a good person! Thank you! The woman and Misael bowed to Adrien, who waved his hand and drove away As Adrien left the residential area, he looked at the damage to his car again and felt heartbroken. He took out his phone and called the dealership. After learning that it could be repaired, he made an appointment at three oâclock in the afternoon and then went to look for the lottery store!
On the way, Adrien searched for the store. Suddenly, the system notification sound popped up again in his mind!
âDing, the host is considerate in handling matters and has won one Raffle! Would the host like to Raffle now?â
Hearing the systemâs words, Adrien felt much more psychologically balanced!
âNot now! Later!â
The most important thing now was not the Rattle or repairing the car but buying lottery tickets and upgrading the system at the same time!
Adrien arrived at a lottery store on Reburg Central Avenue. He handed over a set of numbers that he had written down.
âSir. I want the number with a two hundred times multiplier! Take a good look, and donât get the wrong numbers!â
âTwo hundred times? Young man, youâre really confident, the man chuckled and shook his head, not believing that Adrien could win.
âIâm really lucky lately!â Adrien said. After getting the lottery ticket, he put it in his phone case and left!
Once outside the lottery store, Adrien took out the lottery ticket and looked at it carefully for a long time.
He still couldnât figure out what was so special about his ticket. He then glanced at his phone, which he had bought secondâhand four years ago when he just started college. The camera sucked. It was time to upgrade!
Adrien stepped on the gas pedal and arrived at a nearby shopping mall. He walked into âHello, sir. What would you like to see?â
âI want to buy a new phone. What are the prices?â
They range from over nine hundred dollars to more than 17 hundred dollars.â
âGive me the one that costs 17 hundred âOkay, sir. Please wait a moment.â
Shortly after, Adrien put the lottery tic phone store.
ls and select a tablet for me. Together, they should be less than 3,000 dollars!â
account balance, which was still more thorth 160 million dollars in his newly purchased phone case. He checked his 110 dollars. He then went to the car store.
Adrien was not familiar with the car store. He just parked his car outside and made a phone call. Then, a customer service representative came to take his car key. Before leaving, Adrien asked about the repair cost, but the other party said it was covered by insurance, so Adrien didnât need to pay anything.
They would contact him when the car was fixed.
Adrien took his new phone and tablet and returned to his house in the taxi. Suddenly, his phone rang, and Adrien was not used to it!
âHelloâ
âHey, Adrienâ What have you been up to lately? It was Kamron Frost, Adrienâs college buddy.
âI havenât been doing much these days. Just staying at home.â
âAre you working today? If youâre free, come out for dinner tonight! Letâs go to that restaurant outside our college! I just got paid torlay. Iâll treat our dorm mates to a mealâ You have to come! Itâs been a long time since the four of us got together?â Kamron said âNo problem! What time?â asked Adrien.
â6:30 pm. See you tonight!â replied Kamron..
âAfter hanging up the phone, Adrien felt very happy. During his four years of college, besides his three roommates who never looked down on him and always helped him, he had almost no other friends.
Adrien always kept the friendship in mind, and if he ever became successful in the future, he would definitely help his three buddies out!
âSystem! You mentioned that there was one chance for a Raffle before! What is that?â Adrien asked.
âThe host handles things very tactfully and has received an extra Raffle from the system as a reward.
Would the host like to Raffle now?â the system replied.
