Chapter 74
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 74 I Would Choose Neither of You
Cordelia looked at Elijah in confusion and asked him with her
eyes.
There was anger in Elijahâs eyes, and he warned in a low voice, âJacob,
you are drunk. Let's stop it here!â
Cordelia knew that Jacob was indeed drunk. After all, he was usually
polite and gentle.
Jacob said, âYou know more clearly than anyone that what I said is the
truth.â
Jacob suddenly looked at Cordelia with reddish eyes. âCordelia, do you
know? My grandma told me that I liked you first, but Elijahâs
grandmother talked with your grandmother about the engagement
first.
âLater, my grandma also talked with your grandmother.
Because it was only a verbal agreement, they finally decided that when
you grew up, you would marry whomever you liked. It was the Hansen
family that snatched you away shamelessly!â
Cordelia was aware that Jacob didnât really like her. He just regarded
her as a toy and wanted to compete with Elijah.
Jacob still wanted to speak, but Cordelia interrupted him coldly,
âJacob, don't make trouble anymore. Since you can't change the fact,
why bother to mention the past?â
Jacob looked at Cordelia in astonishment. His lips trembled, and his
eyes were full of sadness.
âYou also said that what the elders meant was that I could marry
whoever I like.â Cordelia looked at Jacob without any emotion in her
eyes.
This was a tactful reminder and refusal, and Cordelia hoped Jacob could
realize it.
As Elijah quietly looked at Cordeliaâs side face, his eyes became more
passionate.
Jacob supported his forehead, and his figure shook slightly.
In a red dress, Elissa stepped forward at this time. She put her arms
around Jacob's waist and supported him.
She said, âJacob, you're drunk. I'll take you home.â
Elissaâs voice was soft and charming, which was attractive to
men.
As Jacob smiled, he put his arms around Elissaâs shoulders and
staggered towards the outside.
It wasn't until this moment that Cordelia felt that Elijah had held her
hand tightly.
Cordelia looked down subconsciously, feeling a little dazed.
After everyone left, Elijah turned over her body and lowered his head to
kiss her, but Cordelia turned her face away.
Elijah was stunned.
Cordeliaâs voice was soft, but the words she spoke pierced through
Elijahâs body like a sharp sword.
She said, âIf I were given a chance to choose again now, I would choose
neither of you!â
After speaking, Cordelia coldly withdrew her hand from Elijahâs palm.
She turned around and left the box.
Elijah stared blankly at her back and muttered to himself, âYou want to
marry Eason, right?â
Unfortunately, she had no chance to choose again.
An earth-shattering sound came from the box, and the glassware
shattered to the ground.
Since that day, they never had sex again.
Elijah would still go back to the bedroom to sleep, but he would work
in the study late every day. Usually, he would come back after Cordelia
had gone to sleep, and he would leave early the next morning.
The two would talk occasionally, but they only talked when it
was necessary.
Cordelia didn't know what Elijah thought, but she thought this kind of
life was quite boring.
Imogen finally appeared that day. She looked much thinner, as if she
just recovered from a serious illness.
Cordelia and Imogen were eating by the window of the
restaurant.
âHave you really broken up?â Cordelia asked worriedly.
