Chapter 70

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 70 Take Her to Hell

Elijah met Cordelia’s gaze and raised an eyebrow.

Coupled with his handsome look, he actually seemed a bit seductive.

Caught off guard, Cordelia quickly looked away. She couldn't afford to

lose her composure in front of Brett.

“Oh, Eva is here too?” Brett looked at Eva affectionately, then warmly

greeted Elijah, “Elijah, it's been a while since I've seen you.”

Elijah smiled and nodded humbly.

“Eason, how about we go play some golf?” Cordelia didn't want to stay

too close to Eva and tried to leave.

“Sure,” Eason got up and informed Brett before leaving with Cordelia.

Eva glanced at them and asked on purpose, “Mr. Wilson, are they a

couple?”

Brett smiled and replied, “They're just friends.”

“Oh,” Eva said with a hint of disappointment.

“But I think they make a good match. They're both talented and

attractive. In the future, perhaps...” Brett didn't finish his sentence, but

his meaning was clear.

Eva's enthusiasm was immediately ignited. “I think so too! That would

be wonderful!”

“Mr. Wilson, please keep Eva company for now. I'll excuse myself.” With

that, Elijah shot Eva a cold look and then walked

away.

Eva knew that her little scheme couldn't escape Elijah’s notice, but she

didn't care. She wanted him to know her feelings.

Cordelia was an average golfer. She knew how to play, but she wasn't

exceptional

Most of her time with Eason was spent discussing work. Since their

project launch was approaching, both of them wanted the project to be

perfect.

After a while, Cordelia started to sweat. “Eason, I need to use the

restroom.”

Outside the restroom door, she bumped into Elijah, who was smoking.

She had intended to walk past him without saying a word, but Elijah

blocked her way.

“What do you want?” Cordelia furrowed her brows, annoyed.

“I heard that Eason left Grant City to start anew in Beilve City

for your research institute. Babe, you must be very charming,” Elijah

said, extinguishing his cigarette slowly, his eyes

darkening.

“You heard wrong,” Cordelia replied calmly, maintaining an aloof

demeanor.

“I'd like to hear the details,” Elijah insisted, eager to hear her

explanation.

Cordelia narrowed her eyes.

He was willing to listen to her this time, but she couldn't be bothered to

explain.

In Elijah’s mind, Eason was always the one with ulterior motives towards

her. No matter how she explained, it would be in vain.

Cordelia didn't care whether Eason had any feelings for her or not.

Maybe he had, and maybe he hadn't.

At least Eason had never shown any romantic interest in her and had

never openly challenged Elijah. Their relationship had always remained

professional and respectful.

Cordelia smirked, “You want to know, huh?”

Elijah’s pupils suddenly deepened, his gaze intense.

“Unfortunately, I don't want to tell you right now,” Cordelia replied,

turning around and walking away.

However, she had underestimated Elijah’s determination.

The audacious man followed her into the restroom.

“Hey, you!” Cordelia turned around and widened her eyes.

Elijah closed the door behind him and cornered her against the sink.

“Cordelia, have I been spoiling you too much lately?” He asked.

Cordelia looked at him innocently, as if questioning him, “When have

you spoiled me?”

Elijah’s eyes reddened slightly as he seized the back of her head and

kissed her.

It wasn’t the kind of punishment-like kiss he gave when he was angry.

Instead, it was a dominating kiss, impossible to resist, as if he were

determined to take her with him to hell.
