Chapter 40 Show Off

Cordelia never expected that Elijah would appear suddenly.

He came in with breakfast in his hand and put it on the table next to

Cordelia.

“Babe, eat it while it's hot,” Elijah said, picked up the food, and fed her.

Cordelia raised her eyebrows. “Well... I can do it myself.”

“Your right arm is injured. It's inconvenient. Let me feed you,” Elijah said

as he served her carefully with a serious expression.

If it wasn't for Eason standing beside, Cordelia might be grateful to

Elijah.

It was a pity that this damn man was just showing off in front of Eason.

Cordelia thought that Eason would leave, but she didn’t expect that

Eason was sitting still and had no intention of leaving at all.

Seeing Elijah’s face getting darkened, Cordelia said, “Aren't you going

to the company today? There seems to be a regular meeting on Friday,

right?”

“l am... leaving.”

Judging from his tone, Elijah seemed dissatisfied.

However, Cordelia didn't care.

This damn man had been very tolerant toward himself and Eva, but he

was strict with Cordelia. He was two-faced.

“Have a good rest. I'll come to accompany you after I get off work.” As

he said that, Elijah planted a kiss on Cordelia’s forehead as if no one

else was there.

Cordelia stared at Elijah's back in a daze, then heard Eason cough

lightly, “Your husband... is interesting.”

Eason made a veiled remark. Cordelia guessed that he wanted to say

that Elijah was thick-skinned.

“Let's go on. What are you doing in Beilve City?" Cordelia asked.

“I'm here to see Mr. Carter,” Eason replied cheerfully.

Cordelia understood. Since Eason made this trip on purpose, he must

have something important to discuss with Milo, and it should have

nothing to do with saving someone's life.

“If there is anything I can help with, just let me know.” Cordelia smiled.

The pharmaceutical company that Eason was in charge of in Grant City

paid Cordelia a very high dividend every year.

Her status as a consultant was merely nominal. Since she joined the

company, she had never

worried about it.

She gave Adam's sister, who had an epileptic seizure, first aid. From

then on, she began to have contact with the four richest young men in

Grant City.

“There is something.” Eason said lightly.

“What is it?” Cordelia looked at him curiously.

“You can talk to me about any difficulties. Don't make yourself suffer,”

Eason said seriously.

Cordelia was stunned, thought about the meaning of his words for a

long time, and said with at smile, “Okay, I will.”

Elijah told Cordelia in the morning that he would come after he got off

work, but he didn't come after nine o'clock at night.

Cordelia guessed that Elijah went to accompany Eva again. When she

opened the social software, she saw Eva pretending to be poor.

In the picture, there was a dinner on the table.

[I'm good. I will have a nice dinner when I am alone.]

There were many comforting comments below, many of which were left

by the people Cordelia was familiar with and Elijah’s friends.

Oh? Did they regard Eva as Elijah’s second wife?

At that moment, Elijah walked in while talking on the phone.

“Mr. Carter ignored me. Did you make a mistake about his preferences?

Ben, check it again.”

Ben said something, and Elijah’s face darkened immediately, “There was

another person there when I arrived. Mr. Carter was very kind to that

person. I don't think it has anything to do with personality. There must

be something wrong.”

The two chatted for a while before hanging up the phone.

Putting away his phone, Elijah held Cordelia“s hand. “I had something to

do, so I'm late. How do you feel today?”
