Chapter 306
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 306 The Heartless Woman
Cordelia admitted that Elijah had powerful connections!
However, she ignored him and didnât even bother to do the superficial
thing of nodding and saying hello to him.
Elijah looked calm with bland eyes
However, Cordelia's appearance forced his eyes to fix on her, as if he
would suffer a loss if he didn't look at her for a second.
Jayden was in a good mood today.
While letting Cordelia give him acupuncture, he chatted with her about
interesting things about his friends.
Cordelia was a very qualified listener and could respond appropriately,
which made today's treatment go smoothly and brought a harmonious
atmosphere.
After the treatment, Cordelia prepared to leave as usual.
However, Jayden said, "Evie, please stay and have dinner. You have
been treating my illness for so long, and I have never entertained you.
This makes me feel very rude.â
It was a flattering offer, making Cordelia feel honored.
She had learned from Eason's description of Jayden that he was a great
business crocodile.
She didn't expect Jayden to attach so much importance to such a
young doctor as her.
However, thinking that Elijah would stay, Cordelia refused.
"Mr. Gudwin, although I really want to have lunch with you, I have
already had an appointment with my friends. Sorry.â
Then, Cordelia left.
From the time she walked into the manor to the time she left, Elijah
only caught her looking at him once. She only took a glance at him
when she entered the door.
It was only one glance!
"How heartless she is!" He thought secretly.
Elijah smiled with self-mockery. When he heard Jayden calling him
affectionately, he immediately came back to his senses, put away his
disappointment, and politely responded to his concerned inquiry.
After Cordelia walked out of the manor, she was ready to go back to
the hotel to rest.
Just now, she made up an excuse for leaving.
In addition to Eason and the other three, she only had one friend in
Grant City, Imogen, who was pregnant and rested at home. Recently,
they only talked on the phone.
As she was walking, she ran into a woman.
The woman had a sweet and lovely face, looking well-behaved. She
greeted Cordelia with a smile.
"Evie," the woman called out.
Cordelia raised her eyebrows.
She hadn't seen Clare only for a few days and didn't expect her to have
become as phony as Laura.
"Clare never learns anything good but could pick up bad things so
easily!" She thought.
Cordelia said expressionlessly, "What so you want?"
Cordelia guessed that Clare was going to Jayden's manor to find Elijah.
Clare didn't know how to say it, feeling a little embarrassed. "Can I talk
to you about something?" She finally said.
Cordelia glanced at her and felt Clare's sincerity and composure, so she
agreed.
Cordelia had no patience with Elijah. After all, he was just an ex.
But she was a little interested in Clare and wanted to hear what she was
going to tell her.
So, the two entered a roadside café.
It was almost noon, and there were not many customers in the café.
Cordelia ordered two cups of coffee and paid the bill.
"Please go ahead.â Cordelia signaled her to speak.
