Chapter 158

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 158 It's a Pity

Elijah's body froze suddenly.

His reaction was great, and Cordelia had an answer in her heart

instantly.

She suddenly regretted it. She shouldn't have asked such a ridiculous

question.

She said, "Just kidding. I'm sleepy. I want to go to sleep. My mind isn't

clear now, and I'm starting to talk nonsense.”

Elijah sighed helplessly, "I'll take you upstairs and take a shower first."

"No need," Cordelia said.

She wrapped herself in a blanket and left as if she was not a pregnant

woman.

"Slow down. No one is chasing you," Elijah said with a smile.

Cordelia didn't smile.

She was too smug just now. Seeing Elijah treated her well, she thought

too much.

After all, she was unworthy.

How could a man like Elijah have feelings for someone?

As she was woolgathering, she took a shower and fell into a deep sleep.

In the middle of the night, she vaguely heard someone talking in her

ears, but she was too sleepy to open her eyes.

In the darkness, Elijah was holding her in his arms, whispering in her

ear.

"I was almost tricked by you.

"You don't like me, but you want me to like you. Don't you think it is

too much?

"I like you very much, but I won't tell you. Otherwise, you will be

complacent.”

Elijah didn't realize that he was like a childish kid.

After he finished venting, he hugged Cordelia contentedly and

gradually fell asleep.

Even he himself didn't realize that during this period of time, he slept

well every day, and he didn't have any nightmares.

On the weekend, the Hansen family had a family banquet.

Even Lamia was called back from Tarssa City.

Cordelia guessed that Gideon might have some good news to

announce again.

"I heard from my mother that Uncle Baxter has asked Aaron to divorce,

and he gave Aaron's ex-wife some money." Lamia stood in the

courtyard and whispered to Cordelia.

Cordelia frowned. In her impression, Baxter was an ordinary person with

a mediocre appearance, stature, and talents. She didn't expect him to

be so decisive at home.

In this aspect, Baxter was totally different from his brother Gabe.

Gabe had an outstanding appearance. He was tall and good in

business, but since he retired, he left everything in the family to his

father and wife, and he didn't care at all.

"Cordelia, do you know? Elissa has gone to Tarssa City to film. She is

amazing," Lamia said.

She looked disdainful

Cordelia smiled faintly. "It's a pity that she doesn't become an actress.”

Lamia was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "Cordelia,

you are skilled at scolding people!”

"Did I scold her?" Cordelia raised her eyebrows.

"Elissa has good acting skills, and she is willing to hook up with

directors and producers. It's indeed a pity that she doesn't become an

actor,” Lamia said meaningfully.

Cordelia nodded approvingly. "Lamia, we haven't seen each other for a

long time. You are getting smarter and smarter.”

Being praised by Cordelia, Lamia became proud.

She said, "Cordelia, I'm working hard to improve myself and pursue

Jacob seriously."
