Chapter 145

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 145 Need More Practice

Cordelia suddenly tensed all over.

She hadn't expected that one day Elijah would propose something like

this. It was truly something she never thought she'd witness.

Should she be grateful or be sad?

Maybe she should feel grateful because their faltering marriage wasn't

completely over, and there was still a chance to salvage it.

Or maybe she should feel sad because all of this might be tied to the

baby in her belly. Elijah wanted to keep her so badly that he was willing

to become so humble.

Seeing her stunned silence, Elijah grew somewhat anxious.

But on the surface, he remained composed. "You don't have to answer

me hastily. Or you don't need to answer me at all.

"In any case, from now on, I will start over with you, whether you agree

or not. I'll do as you expected to learn everything about you and get to

know you again

"I'd love to live a new life with you."

After saying this, he gently held Cordelia’s face but noticed that she had

been crying again.

"Why are you crying again?" Elijah asked, feeling somewhat concerned.

Was she really so reluctant to be with him?

"I'm fine," Cordelia said, wiping away her tears. "I'm relieved that you

have this intention. Let me think about it."

Elijah understood that she wouldn't rush into a relationship and was

quite cautious. He didn't push further because it was better to take

things slowly.

For now, Cordelia was still by his side. She was his wife, and nobody

would take her away from him!

The two of them arrived at a barbecue stall. Since it wasn't mealtime,

there weren't many customers.

"Are you okay with this outdoor barbecue place?” Cordelia asked Elijah.

"You are, and that's all that matters. I'm fine with it," Elijah replied

without hesitation.

So, they sat down immediately.

The restaurant in the scenic area had limited hygiene conditions, not

comparable to the restaurants they usually went to, but they both

enjoyed their food.

Cordelia, especially, was eating with a hearty appetite. Before long, a

pile of skewers lay in front of her.

Seeing Elijah drink water frequently, Cordelia teased, "I asked for non-

spicy skewers earlier, but you didn't agree. Now you've learned the

lesson.”

Elijah rarely ate spicy food, and he never touched any spicy cuisine.

"I heard that you can get used to eating spicy food. I'm planning to

practice eating it more often,” Elijah said.

This way, he could accompany Cordelia to try more restaurants and

taste different cuisines.

He knew that Cordelia used to love spicy food.

Cordelia secretly observed Elijah. Even though he was suffering from

the spiciness, his cheeks were slightly red, but he maintained his

elegant and noble demeanor.

"Well, I never expected him to have a celebrity's ego." Cordelia

chuckled to herself.

However, she remembered that she had been deeply attracted to his

unique aura when they first met.

Even though it didn't reach the point of falling in love at first sight, she

still admired his appearance and charisma.

She wasn't as infatuated as she was in her teenage years. Now, it was

more of a secret admiration in her heart.

The two of them devoured all the food in front of them, settled the bill,

and left.

At this moment, the sky was gradually darkening, and the wind in the

valley suddenly picked up. It seemed like it was about to rain.

Elijah hugged Cordelia's waist tightly and whispered in her ear, "The

accommodation area is not far ahead. How about we stay in the scenic

area tonight?”

"Okay, let's go quickly!" Cordelia didn't hesitate and increased her pace.

Until they had checked in and entered their room, it started pouring

rain outside, with thunder and lightning.

Cordelia walked to the window and looked outside, murmuring, "The

changes in Mount Damerel these years are truly significant. It doesn't

resemble the place from my childhood at all.”

Elijah's gaze deepened, and he walked over to her. He wrapped her in a

blanket and held her in his arms.

"Time changes everything. Cordelia, you should look forward."

No matter what she had experienced in the past, Elijah was the man

who stood by her side now.

And he always would be!
