Chapter 123

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 123 The Handbags

The constant morning sickness made Cordelia feel mentally drained all

day, and she became forgetful.

"I knew you'd forget. But there's a secret I haven't told you yet. The

male lead for tonight's performance is Ivan Veblen!"

lvan was a legend in the world of dance, having long since become a

studio owner. He was Imogen's idol.

"Alright then. I'll witness your dream-come-true moment tonight and

remind you to wipe away any drool,” Cordelia half-jokingly replied.

After a bit more laughter and conversation, Imogen suddenly turned

serious. "Cordelia, you know what? Elissa's family company has gone

bankrupt!"

"Really? Didn't Ben try to help salvage their family business? Maybe he

could have even moved Elissa to offer herself as a sacrifice!” Cordelia

retorted with sarcasm, though she wasn't surprised.

Elijah was a person who sought revenge for even the slightest wrong.

However, Cordelia had initially thought that Elijah had just wanted to

teach Elissa a lesson, but it seemed he had taken more drastic

measures.

Yet, Imogen'’s response was full of meaning. "Cordelia, you don't

understand.”

"What?"

"Ben would love it if Elissa lost everything. That way, she'd have no

choice but to cling to him tightly," Imogen explained.

Isee

Cordelia knew that Ben was quite viperous.

"What about you, Imogen? If they... What are your plans for the future?”

Cordelia asked with concern.

"I've already talked to Mr. Veblen. I'm planning to sign with his dance

troupe and develop my career in Tarssa City," Imogen replied casually.

This sudden news took Cordelia aback.

Nonetheless, she was genuinely happy for Imogen's newfound

freedom

She would have a bright future!

At dusk, Elijah returned home quite early.

Cordelia was lounging on the couch reading a book when she saw

Elijah coming in with an elegant handbag from a certain brand. Her

expression stiffened.

She had already felt uncomfortable, and now her anger was getting

harder to contain.

"Take it away!"

Elijah halted in his tracks, looking at Cordelia in bewilderment. Seeing

her bad expression, he quickly put down the handbag and approached

her cautiously.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Should I call the family doctor

to check on you?"

Cordelia didn't want him to come near her. She pushed his shoulder

and said, "Step away."

Elijah arched an eyebrow. "What's going on? What did I do to upset

you?"

Cordelia turned her face away, refusing to speak.

Elijah glanced back at the handbag he had just been holding, then

guessed. "You don't want me to give you a gift?"

"I don't need it," Cordelia said coldly.

Elijah’s gaze dimmed. "Then suit yourself.”

After saying that, Elijah got up and walked away but didn't throw away

the gift he had brought.

After all, it was a handbag worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Which woman wouldn't be happy to receive it?

Just look at how proud Mae and Eva were. Even though they were

obtained through wholesale, their value was still undeniable.

As Cordelia was planning to go out to watch Imogen’s performance

later in the evening, she went upstairs to change her clothes and get

ready. The time was almost right.

However, as she was about to leave, Elijah walked out of the dining

room. "Aren't you eating? Where are you going?"

"I don't have an appetite, so I'm skipping dinner. I'm heading to the

theater,” Cordelia replied without even glancing at him, busy changing

her shoes.

Seeing that she was really about to leave, Elijah immediately shouted,

"Cordelia, stop right there!"

Cordelia glanced at the time, then turned around impatiently. "What's

wrong?"

Elijah took a swift step forward and pressed her against the door.

"Cordelia, do you really think I can't do anything about you?"

Cordelia's beautiful eyes contracted as she looked at him.

Elijah nibbled at her neck!
