chapter 5

Jeevika's pov.

Uhhhh I don't know how to react. Look at my maa, she is talking so much today. From the minute she meets Vidhyut she is talking to him. And what I am doing here in the kitchen is getting water for him.

First she agreed to come in his car. It's not like I have some problem. But We can come on our own. Then Invited him for lunch and then sent me to the kitchen to get some water for him. Wasn't I a special gift from God to her? Or he is the one.

On pouting on a thought that she is giving attention to someone else I went out taking water for him.

As soon as they saw me they stopped talking. I gave them a glass of water and sat beside maa.  And hugged maa sideways and showed my tongue to vidhyut but made sure that maa didn't see that otherwise she would have scolded me.

He just shook his head at me while smiling. Why does he smile at me as I have cracked some joke. My thoughts were broken by maa's voice.

" Vidhyut what will you eat for lunch? I will cook whatever you want to?"

" It's ok Aunty, you can cook whatever you want. I will have "

" Naa beta. Today you tell me. I will cook your choice of food."

" If you are asking then can you cook Paratha for me"

" But maa I don't like paratha " I said before Maa can say yes. I don't like padatha so I know maa won't cook. But Maa's answer shocked me.

" It's Ok Jeevi. One day you will also eat Paratha. It won't harm you if you eat something healthy "

" Hoo what do you mean Maa I don't eat healthy. "

" It's ok Aunty you can cook Whatever she likes"

" No, she will eat one day."

Maa said And I pouted. She always listens to me. But now today because of him she is not listening to him. Uhhh this is wrong very wrong.

Then Maa went to the kitchen. And asked me to show him the house. Though our house is not big, it's beautiful. So I took him to a terrace. We have plants and swing on the terrace.

He set on swing. And I stand there.

" Are you going to stand forever?" He asked me.

" Hoo Why Will I stand this in my house? So I will sit." Saying I sat beside him. But he smiled.

" Why are you smiling now "

" Because I want to"

" You.."

" Tell me Jeevika, why are you jealous?"

" I am not jealous "

" Come on I am not a kid to not know that you are jealous "

" Because she is My maa"

" Let me come to the point, jeevika. I know she is your Maa and nobody likes to share their maa. But I don't want you to share her. I just want some love. Like I used to have in childhood. You know I didn't have maa so…"

He didn't complete his sentence. But I feel bad for him. Everyone needs maa. But he didn't have one. He must have faced so many problems. So I decided to share maa.

" It's ok I can share her with you but only a little. But I only share my things with my friends, " I said with pout.

" Then let's be friends "

" Hmm, your idea is good. Let's be friends." I said and gave my hand a handshake. He shook his hand with me.

Vidhyut' POV.

Ohh God. Today is something. First I met Radha Aunty and then this little patakha. She is something. First she was jealous that Radha Aunty gave me little more importance. Now When I say my side of the story. She agreed to share her with me and become my friend.

But I don't know is I have done right by being her friend or not. Because what I am feeling by her side is not at all friendship. I know I am attracted to her. But of course I need to keep myself in check. I can't attracted to her.

I was in my thoughts when she call me and when I look at her she asked,

" Where were you lost? I was talking for the last ten minutes but you are not listening to me." Saying she pouted. I just wanted to kiss that pout.

Vidhyut can't keep your thoughts in check because she is a kid. Remember it. I scolded myself. And asked her.

" What were you saying?"

" I am telling you that you are my first boyfriend. Ohh God I am so excited"  she said while getting excited. But I caught on to that statement.

" Jeevika you know what are you saying?"  Here I am trying to keep my thoughts in check and she is saying something like this.

" Yes That you are my first boyfriend. You know boy and friend"  I just facepalm myself at her meaning. But her eyes went wide.  As if she realized something.

" Hoo Don't tell me you thought I was talking about that boyfriend they show in movies and stories. Chi chi I am not that type of girl."

" That's why I am saying don't use the word boyfriend again ok" I said to her which she nodded like a cute child. After that we talked for some time. One thing I noticed from the moment we agreed to befriend she kept chanting my friend, my friend.

I don't know why her small friend makes my heart flutter. Nobody ever calls me friend or family because of the past. Only Abhi used to be my friend. As everyone believes that they don't want to befriend the guy who doesn't have a family whose mother nobody knows.

After that we had lunch and she ate paratha with a sulking face. As she doesn't like them. Before returning home we exchange numbers. And at last she gave me a warning. Yes, warning that to strike a voice.

" Look Vidhyut you are My friend so beware. Don't  befriend everyone . You are mine ok."

She said I am hers without even realizing its effect on me. But I couldn't deny her and nodded. And return.

Author's POV.

In the evening jeevika is seated in the living room. She is looking for a college to take admission in. Just then Radha came. She took a breath and sat beside her. She hugged jeevika and asked,

" Baccha do you trust me?"

" Maa, why are you asking this type of question? I know what will do you will do it for my betterment"

" Then  I want you to get married"

As soon as words left Radha's mouth she started laughing. Radha thought she will get angry so she asked,

"Jeevi, why are you laughing?"

" Maa first you tell me this jock then asking me why I am laughing"

" It's not joke Jeevi , I am serious. I have told vidya devi to look good allinence for you"

Jeevika's smile drops. and her expression turns serious.

" Maa, why are you saying this? You know I want to study"

" But jeevi I want you to get  married. I don't have more money to west on you"

" Why are you behaving like this? Maa is there any problem we can solve that together "

" There is no problem. I have took decision and I just wanted you to follow "

" No I don't accept this "

" Fine then I won't talk to you that's it."

Saying she left the place. Jeevika thought that her mother would be normal after some time so she cooked food. But Radha didn't eat. Nor even talk with her. So she realized how serious she is. But her last sentence before going to sleep broke her.

" I have done a lot for you jeevi now it's your turn. Get married if you want me see alive"

"Maa at least say what happened suddenly?"

But Radha closed the door on her face. Till now Jeevika was keeping her emotions to herself. But now it's too much. So she called someone. She herself doesn't know why she called that person but she felt that right so she called that person.
