Jealousy, Jealousy
For Whatever It's Worth
As the first week and a half of their trip passed, everyone seemed closer than ever. Everyone started to become good friends with one another, and there were just good vibes all around.
This past week, Paige had been planning how she would ask Azzi to be her girlfriend. She needed it to be perfect for the perfect girl. This wasn't going to be just a surprise to the People's Princess, the rest of the girls had no idea about this either.
Kate was sitting down on the couch in the living room when a giggly Caitlin and happy Gabbie came to sit down by her. "What are those looks on your faces?"
"Tell us everything Kate!" Gabbie was never the person who liked to get involved with her friends' relationships, but now she wants to know every single detail about Nika and Kate's. If there is a relationship there.
"I don't know what you guys are talking about."
Caitlin rolled her eyes at Kate's stupidity. "You know exactly what we're talking about. The Instagram posts, the comments especially."
"That's what friends do? Like what?"
"Friend?! Since when are you and Mühl friends? With you and her there ain't no friends stage. You're either enemies or lovers."
"Caitlin's right Kate. It feels weird having Caitlin and right in the same sentence but it's true. You guys practically just hard launched. And no friend comments 'only with you' with a heart."
Kate pondered for a second. Why does everyone think its different when she posts about Nika? They wouldn't be saying that if it was anyone else. "Yea we're friends and that's all we're ever going to be. I'm pretty sure she's straight, and yes my heart did stop when Nika put a heart but I'm not going to get full of myself. I don't wanna hurt myself and get my hopes up."
"When we were in the music store, no offense Gabbie you weren't there, I saw how Nika was looking at you when you were playing guitar for her. The eyes don't lie. Nika totally digs you, you just have to tell her that you feel the same way."
"Why, how was she looking at me like?"
"She was looking at you like you were in a wedding outfit walking down the aisle. Despite being across the other side of the store, I could see her eyes sparkling. And a smile didn't leave her face once."
Was Caitlin right? Does Nika actually like her? Sure Nika had a boyfriend but that doesn't mean she can't like girls either.

The sun was starting to set and Paige texted for everyone to come outside at the same time. Everyone was confused as to why Paige was making them come outside. But once they opened the backdoor up, it all made sense.
Paige was standing in a very nice outfit standing on the sand. Engraved in the sand was words that said 'Azzi, will you be my girlfriend?' Paige always thought things like this were very corny but once she was in the position other couples were in, she thought it was very romantic.
Everyone turned to Azzi as her hands covered her face and started to make her way down to Paige. You could see how red both of their cheeks were and how sparkly their eyes were.
Azzi obviously said yes and everyone started to chant as Paige and Azzi's lips touched. Nika was the only one not paying attention. Her eyes searched for Kate's face and once she found it, her eyes just lingered there. She saw the smile on Kate's face and how happy she was for the newly couple. Nika's feelings towards Kate were only growing stronger and there was no way to stop them now.
"That's pretty cool right? Wish someone did that for me. Or for you K." Kate rolled her eyes at Caitlin teasing the both of them while they were walking back into the house.
"It's something we could only dream of Clark."
"Yea maybe. But I think its possible for you. Mühl is going to ask you to be her girlfriend in a romantic way like that any day now."
"You're never going to give this up are you? You're being more delusional than me."
"Maybe I'm being delusional. Or maybe I'm just a fortune teller."
"Piss off Clark. I'm going to my room, see ya."
"See you later."
When Kate got up to her room she decided to shower. After Paige asked Azzi to be her girlfriend, the rest of the group decided to go to a party later in the evening so they could drink their singleness away.
Kate had spent roughly 30 minutes in the shower just thinking and singing to her playlist. While she was singing along to songs she normally does, she now began to realize how much she relates to some of the lyrics.
While Kate was in the shower, Nika had came up into their bedroom. Once again, she heard the girl singing and Nika couldn't take the smile off of her face.
When Kate got out of the bathroom, she jumped. "Oh shit you scared the crap out of me."
Nika laughed at the girl whos face was filled with embarrassment. "That's my fault I didn't mean to scare you." Nika couldn't take her eyes away from the girl who the only thing that was covering her body was a towel.
"Well I'll be done with the bathroom in a minute if you need to use it. I just need to change in there real quick." Kate was on the way to the bathroom when the Croatian's voice stopped her tracks.
"You can change in here. Don't be nervous, I don't mind. I promise I won't look at you while you change."
Kate felt frozen by the words that came out of Nika's mouth. Did she really just say that?
Kate was midway through changing when once again, she heard Nika's voice.
"You have a nice singing voice Kate."
Kate turned over to the girl whose face was towards the wall. "You can hear my singing in the shower?"
"Yea and I think it's pretty good. You have a great musical talent Kate."
"I'm flattered Nika. I'm also a little embarrassed that you could hear my singing. I thought I was quiet in there. Also I'm done getting ready"
Nika turned around as soon as Kate said she was done. "You're not quiet, not that I'm complaining." Nika smirked. " How do you like my singing though? Do I sound like Mariah? Whitney? Celine?"
"You sound like a toddler." Nika didn't like Kate's response and threw a pillow at her. "Hey that's not fair you asked me a question and I answered."
The room fell silent as Nika and Kate were just looking at each other. Friends don't look at friends that way, do they?
"Well now to prove your point Kate, I'm going to go hop in the shower and prove that you're wrong."
"Well good luck doing that."

It was now around 10PM and all the girls arrived at an open house party besides Paige and Azzi. The group made sure that there were at least 2 people together knowing how many bad stories they've heard about girls who were at parties alone.
Kate decided to hang around with Aubrey and Jana. The house was filled with smoke, drunk college kids, and people making out. The house was so loud it was practically vibrating. This made it hard for the three girls to communicate and be able to hear one another. They held hands, and pushed their way through the crowd to find an empty seating area.
They were able to see an open couch in the second living room area despite there being dozens of people in the room. After sitting for a few minutes, Aubrey went up to get drinks for the three of them.
Kate brought the cup to her lips and once the alcohol slid down her throat, she sighed. She forgot how much of a relief alcohol brought to her. It allowed her to just get free and forget about the real world for a bit. "Do you guys want to get up and dance?"
Aubrey's eyes lit up when Kate mentioned dancing. Aubrey definitely wasn't the best dancer but once she started dancing, she couldn't stop. "Hell yea, we need someone to guard our couch though." Just as Aubrey said that she saw Caitlin and ran towards her. Caitlin was the perfect victim because she hated dancing.
As the three girls danced there hearts out, more of the group started to come in and join them. Kate was having the time of her life and it felt great to let loose. As time went on and more drinks came along, Kate started to get crazier. She started to dance with anyone and she didn't care if it was one of her friends or a stranger.
Throughout the night, Nika only had one drink, the one she was on right now. As her and Monika were making their way to where everybody else was, a sight before her caused her to freeze in her place and drop her drink. A girl was grinding up against Kate on the floor. The proximity between the two girls was basically non-existent. Nika felt the biggest pit in her stomach that she has never felt before when she saw the duo.
"Nika, are you there?" The voice of Monika felt muffled as Nika couldn't stop watching the two girls who were basically on top of each other on the floor. Monika kept calling her name before she eventually gave up and waved a hand in Nika's face. "Hello? Earth to Nika?"
"Yea sorry I just zoned out for a moment. What did you need?"
"Uhm nothing its just that you spilt your drink on the floor. How didn't you notice?" When Nika looked down at the floor she realize that she did in fact spill her drink. Luckily it didn't spill on her or Monika.
"Shit Monika. I'll be right back, you can go dance with the rest of them." Nika began storming away going to the kitchen. Nika felt so foolish. She genuinely thought her and Kate were having a relationship more deeper than a friendship. And yea, Nika knew that neither of them ever said something along those lines but she thought Kate was feeling the same way she did.
When Nika arrived at the kitchen, there was a ton of alcoholic beverages for her to choose from. In all honesty, Nika just wanted to drink them all. She chugged down one cup of alcohol, then another, then another.
Nika just wanted to drink the night away and just forget about her feelings towards Kate. She was down to do whatever with whomever. Anything to get her mind off of Kate.
"Woah there chill with the drinking. I saw you down about 3 cups in less than a minute. That's some crazy work." When Nika turned to her left, she was greeted by a very tall man with some of the bluest eyes she's seen.
"Don't tell me how much I can or cannot drink. You're not my fucking mother. So just mind your own damn business."
"Is that you talking or is that the alcohol talking?" Despite Nika's rudeness, the man kept smiling. His smile was the kind of smile that could captivate literally anyone who glances his way.
"You should see me sober, I'm worse when I'm sober." Nika desperately wanted to leave this conversation but like she kept thinking, she just wanted to escape facing and thinking about Kate.
"It's hard to believe that a pretty girl like you is actually vicious. I'm Sam by the way." Sam reached out to shake Nika's hand but she didn't return the favor.
"I'm Nika."
As time went on, Kate figured out that she could request a song for the DJ to play. Kate wanted to go and surprise Nika by requesting 'Happiness Is A Butterfly,' one of Nika's favorite songs. As days went along, Kate felt her and Nika's bond growing stronger and something Kate loved to do for people was small gestures that have a lot of meaning behind them.
Although this song was such a downer vibe compared to the other songs being played, Kate believed that for every 5 poppy songs, there should be at least one mellow one.
Because there were so many requests, Kate's song would be in the queue for quite a while so this gave Kate some time to search for Nika. Kate thought it might've been impossible to find Nika in such a densely populated house, but Kate knew it would be worth it. She just couldn't wait to see the look on Nika's face when she hears the first measure of one her favorite songs start to play.
As Kate was searching the house, she found herself back at where she started. With the rest of the girls. She was willing to do whatever it needed to take to find Nika. Kate had been asking everyone in the group. They all had the same reply of 'no,' until she asked Monika.
"Hey Mon, have you seen Nika anywhere?"
"Well when we were coming over here to join you guys, Nika spilled her drink and she said that she was going to the kitchen. I haven't seen her since then. I'm sorry Kate. She still might be there though. Or probably outside in the backyard."
"Thanks Mon. I checked the kitchen already but I'll check it again. And to be fair, I didn't know this house had a backyard so yea that could definitely be a possibility. Thanks again."
When Kate approached the kitchen, once again there was no sight of Nika. "Where the fuck are you Nika Mühl." Kate mumbled under her breath as she began to stress because as each minute was approaching, that meant a minute closer for her request to come on and for her and Nika to miss it totally.
Kate's hand grabbed the handle of the door that led to the outside and took a step into the fresh air. The backyard was larger than she expected but not too big for her to need to do a whole walkaround.
As Kate gave up and went to go back inside, something in the corner of her eye caught her attention. There she was. Kate finally found Nika. But Nika wasn't alone. She was making out with some dude.
