"Good Night"
Sana Short Imagines
Y/Nâs night out with Mark had been a blast, and now, as Markâs car pulled up outside her house, she could still feel the buzz of their fun evening. Mark turned to Y/N with a grin. âI had a great time tonight! We should do this more often.â
Y/N smiled back, grateful for his company. âYeah, it was really fun. Thanks for the ride, Mark.â
As she stepped out of the car, Mark leaned over, calling out one last time. âGood luck! And donât forget to say hi to Sana for me!â
Before Y/N could even reply, Mark sped off, leaving her alone on the quiet street. With a small sigh, she fumbled in her bag for her keys. The house was completely dark, and Y/N felt a pang of guilt in her chest. She had promised Sana sheâd be home early, but here she was, clearly later than planned.
Y/N unlocked the door as quietly as possible and tiptoed inside. She was doing her best to be silent, but the house was pitch black. Her foot collided with the edge of the coffee table, and a sharp pain shot through her shin. âAh, seriously?!â she muttered, trying to keep her voice low, but her frustration was clear.
Suddenly, a cold voice cut through the darkness. âWhat do you think are you doing?â
Y/N jolted in surprise, stumbling back slightly. Her heart raced as she looked toward the source of the voice. Sana was standing there, her arms crossed, a stern expression on her face. Before Y/N could even respond, Sana flipped on the lights, making Y/N squint for a second at the sudden brightness.
âUh... I didnât see the table,â Y/N muttered, scratching the back of her neck nervously. She tried to lighten the mood with a chuckle, but Sanaâs expression didnât change. Y/N quickly added, âWhy are you still awake?â
Sanaâs eyes narrowed, clearly unimpressed by the attempt to dodge the conversation. âI could ask you the same thing. You said youâd be home early.â
Y/N gulped and gave a weak smile. âI know, I know. Iâm sorry, I just lost track of time hanging out with Mark and the others.â
Sana didnât respond immediately. She just sighed, her eyes flicking toward the clock on the wall. âYeah, you seemed to be having such a great time that you forgot what time it was.â
There was a heavy silence that hung in the air after Sanaâs words, and Y/N could feel her guilt weighing even more. She was about to step closer to Sana when something caught her eyeâon the couch was a pillow and a blanket.
Y/Nâs heart sank. Oh no... She already knew what that meant. She tried to find the right words, scrambling for something to say, but her mind was blank.
âI... Sana, I didnât mean to stay out this late. Iâ"
But before she could finish, Sana was already turning toward the stairs, her back to Y/N. âGoodnight,â Sana said flatly, without looking back.
Y/N sighed deeply as Sana disappeared upstairs, leaving her alone in the now painfully bright living room. She glanced at the couch, knowing that it was going to be her bed for the night. There was no talking her way out of this one.
She slumped down onto the couch, adjusting the pillow and blanket as best as she could. But it didnât take long to realize how uncomfortable it was. Her legs were way too long, dangling off the end of the small couch, and no matter how much she shifted, she couldnât get into a comfortable position.
With another sigh, Y/N lay on her back, staring at the ceiling. âI deserve this,â she muttered to herself. âI told her Iâd be home early, and I wasnât.â
She pulled the blanket over herself, though it barely covered her legs. It was going to be a long night. Tomorrow, sheâd have to apologize properlyâreally apologizeâand make sure she didnât end up on the couch again anytime soon.
