"Umbrella Pt.2"

Sana Short Imagines

Sana and her fellow TWICE members decided to have dinner together at a private restaurant after a long day of practice. They arrived and were shown to their private dining room, quickly scanning through the menu.

As they settled down, they placed their orders, chatting and laughing like usual. Jihyo looked around the table, noticing one person was missing. “Where’s Nayeon?” she asked, frowning.

Jeongyeon replied with a casual shrug, “She’s going to be late. She mentioned she’s bringing someone with her tonight.”

This sparked curiosity among the group, as some members exchanged knowing glances. Momo teased with a grin, “Maybe she’s finally introducing her secret relationship to us.”

The others giggled, their imaginations running wild. But before the conversation could go any deeper, the food arrived. As everyone began eating, Sana stood up, excusing herself. “I’ll be right back, just need to use the bathroom.”

She made her way through the quiet restaurant and entered the comfort room. When she stepped inside, her heart skipped a beat. There, standing in front of the mirror, was the woman who had been on her mind for weeks. The very same woman who had handed her an umbrella on a rainy night after TWICE’s late practice.

Sana froze, too stunned to speak. It’s her… she thought, her eyes widening. She had never gotten the chance to properly thank her, and now, here she was. The woman looked even more beautiful than she remembered.

The woman was fixing her hair, completely unaware of Sana’s shock. Before Sana could gather her thoughts, the woman turned and walked towards the door, only to stop right in front of her.

Sana’s mind went blank. She wanted to say something, anything, but the words wouldn’t come out. She stuttered, “Uhh- , H-Hi?”

The woman gave her a gentle smile, a bit awkward but kind. “Hi. I’m sorry, but you’re blocking the way,” she said, her voice soft but polite.

Sana blinked, her cheeks instantly heating up in embarrassment. “Oh, I’m so sorry!” she quickly stepped aside, mentally kicking herself.

The woman gave her a quick nod and left the bathroom, walking away casually, leaving Sana standing there in her flustered state, staring after her.

Sana let out a sigh, her hand over her chest. Why do I always make a fool of myself around her? she thought, still embarrassed but smiling a little at the chance encounter.

Sana took a deep breath, collecting herself after the encounter in the restroom. She felt her cheeks cool down from the earlier embarrassment and finally made her way back to their table. As she got closer, she could hear the loud chatter and laughter from her members, and Nayeon’s familiar voice filled the air. It was clear that Nayeon had arrived.

Sana smiled, stepping up to the table, where she greeted Nayeon with a warm hug. “Nayeon-unnie! Where have you been? We’ve been waiting for you,” she said, without noticing the presence of someone else at the table.

Nayeon grinned and replied with a chuckle, “I’ve been picking up someone special. Sana, let me introduce you to my company tonight.”

Only then did Sana realize someone was sitting next to Nayeon. Turning her gaze to the person, her breath hitched in her throat. It was her—the woman from the comfort room. The same one who had lent her an umbrella that rainy night. Her heart pounded at the unexpected coincidence.

The woman smiled softly and extended her hand. “Hi, I’m Y/N. Nice to meet you, Sana.”

Sana blinked, realizing she had been staring for a few moments too long. With a nervous chuckle, she reached out and shook Y/N’s hand. “Nice to meet you too,” she managed to say, her voice sounding more composed than she felt.

They all sat down, and the rest of the members continued their lively conversation, teasing Nayeon about bringing a mystery guest. Sana, on the other hand, tried her best to keep smiling and participate, though her mind kept wandering back to Y/N. It was difficult to focus when the very person who had occupied her thoughts was now sitting just across from her, chatting easily with her friends.

Throughout the dinner, Sana remained quiet, offering polite smiles and the occasional nod whenever someone spoke to her. It wasn’t that she wasn’t happy for Nayeon—she just couldn’t shake the feeling of surprise, and maybe even a hint of disappointment. She told herself it was nothing. It’s fine… besides, Y/N is with Nayeon-unnie, she reminded herself, trying to push away the complicated emotions swirling inside her.

After dinner, they all stood up to say their goodbyes, the teasing continuing as the members joked with Nayeon about Y/N. Sana stayed in the background, giving her usual smile, not wanting to draw any attention to her quietness.

Just as they were about to leave, she heard Y/N call her name. Her heart skipped a beat as she turned around to face her.

“Sana,” Y/N said, her smile gentle, “I was wondering… have we met before? Your face seems really familiar.” There was a playful spark in her eyes as she added, “And no, I’m not talking about our little bathroom encounter earlier.”

Sana’s pulse quickened, but she kept her expression steady. “I don’t think so. It’s probably the first time we’ve met,” she replied smoothly. “Maybe you’ve seen me somewhere on TV?” she joked, trying to keep things light.

Y/N chuckled at that, shaking her head. “Maybe that’s it. Well, it was really nice to finally meet you and the others. Have a good night.”

“We'll get going, Sana. Good night and take care.” Nayeon added.

“You too,” Sana said, giving her a small wave. She watched as Y/N and Nayeon walked away together, feeling the weight in her chest grow a little heavier.

As she looked at Y/N’s retreating back, Sana sighed softly to herself. It’s better this way, she thought. There was no point in telling Y/N about the rainy night or how much she had been thinking about her. Y/N was already with Nayeon, and there was nothing Sana could do about it. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. I guess I should get going.
