"Watch Your Steps Pt.3"
Sana Short Imagines
(I decided to make part 3 for Watch Your Steps, idk why. I'm so random hehe. Anyway, enjoy.)
Sana had been incredibly busy with her work, and tonight was no exception. She was attending Prada's fashion show as one of the brand's esteemed endorsers. The event was buzzing with energy, and Maria was right by her side.
The show ended with a spectacular finale, and the room was filled with applause. As the lights dimmed, Sana made her way to the after-party area, where she mingled with other endorsers and fashion elites. Among them, Andrea Guerra, the CEO of Prada, approached her with a warm smile.
"Sana, it's always a pleasure to see you," Andrea said, extending his hand.
Sana shook his hand gracefully. "The pleasure is mine, Mr. Guerra. Thank you for having me as part of this amazing brand."
Andrea nodded appreciatively. "We are truly glad to have you with us. Your presence has brought a lot of positive attention to Prada."
They continued to chat for a while, discussing future projects and the impact of the recent campaign. Maria, who had been standing nearby, checked her watch and then leaned in towards Sana.
"I have to go now, Sana. I need to fetch my daughter," Maria said apologetically.
Sana nodded, understanding. "Of course, Maria. Thank you for being here. Take care and give my regards to your daughter."
Maria turned to the bodyguards assigned to look after Sana and gave them a brief nod. "Please take good care of her," she instructed. Turning back to Sana, she smiled. "Take care, Sana. See you soon."
"Bye, Maria," Sana replied with a smile as Maria walked away.
After Maria left, Sana continued her conversation with Andrea and a few other endorsers who had become her friends over time. They laughed and shared stories from previous events, enjoying each other's company.
Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke from behind her. "Sana, long time no see."
Sana turned around and saw Dex (Kim Jin Young), another endorser of Prada. Her face lit up with a smile, and she hugged him as a greeting. "Dex! It's been a while. How have you been?"
Dex returned her hug warmly. "I've been good, busy as always. How about you?"
"Same here," Sana replied. "Work has been keeping me on my toes, but it's been fun."
They continued exchanging updates about their lives. Dex had always shown a particular interest in Sana, and while she was aware of it, she didnât mind. Dex was a decent guy, and his attention didnât bother her.
As they chatted, Dex suddenly looked at her with a more serious expression. "Sana, I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me sometime. Maybe for dinner or coffee?"
Sana smiled, appreciating his straightforwardness. "I'd love that, Dex. Letâs set a date soon."
Before Dex could respond, Sana felt a hand wrap around her waist. She looked up in surprise, her eyes meeting a familiar gaze that made her heart skip a beat.
The person beside Sana suddenly spoke, her voice firm and decisive. "Sana can't come."
Dex's face registered surprise and curiosity as he looked at the woman with her arm wrapped around Sana. Who is she, and why is she deciding for Sana? His gaze shifted to Sana, who seemed equally surprised and a bit exasperated. She tried to remove the woman's arm, but the grip was too strong, so she gave up, rolling her eyes and sighing. Despite her annoyance, she couldn't ignore the rapid beating of her heart from the unexpected skinship.
"And you are?" Dex asked, his tone respectful but his face still questioning. He forced a polite smile.
The woman smiled back, extending her hand. "Y/N," she introduced herself.
Dex shook her hand, still puzzled. "Nice to meet you, Y/N. I'm Dex."
"Likewise," Y/N replied, her smile not quite reaching her eyes.
Turning back to Sana, Dex resumed his friendly demeanor. "So, Sana, could I get your number for the details? I'd really like to catch up."
Sana was about to exchange numbers when Y/N pulled her closer, causing Sana to blush even more. Her friends, noticing the interaction, exchanged curious glances and whispered among themselves.
Y/N smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Sana won't be going out with you, Dex. She's busy."
Sana opened her mouth to protest but then closed it, realizing Y/N was right. Besides, she felt too lazy to go out anyway. She scrunched her nose in confusion. "Wait, Y/N, what are you doing here? This is a private show."
Y/N's smirk widened. "I have my ways," she replied cryptically, giving a wink that made Sana's heart flutter even more.
Y/Nâs arm remained securely around Sanaâs waist as she watched Dex with a challenging smirk. Dex, however, looked straight at Sana, ignoring Y/N's words. "Sana, maybe next time, when youâre not busy?" he suggested with a hopeful smile.
Sana nodded, trying to manage the situation diplomatically. "Yes, Dex. Iâm really busy right now, but maybe another time."
Dexâs smile widened, and he shot Y/N a triumphant look. Y/N, undeterred, smirked back. "Donât count on it happening soon," she said coolly. "I wonât be allowing Sana to go out with you."
Dex chuckled at her boldness. "And who are you? Sanaâs mother?" he joked.
Y/N's smirk grew as she replied, "No, but her girlfriend."
The words hit Dex like a ton of bricks, and his smirk instantly faded. The surrounding crowd, who had overheard Y/Nâs declaration, gasped in surprise. Sanaâs heart raced, and she felt heat rising to her cheeks. The physical closeness of Y/N's arm around her was not helping the situation at all.
Dex turned to Sana, disbelief written all over his face. "Is she serious, Sana?"
Sana took a deep breath, deciding to play along with Y/Nâs impromptu roleplay. Despite the blush spreading across her face, she nodded. "Yes, itâs true. Y/N is indeed my girlfriend."
Dexâs smile was now tinged with sadness, but he nodded politely. "I see. Well, it was nice catching up, Sana. I hope we can meet again sometime."
Sana gave him a warm, albeit apologetic, smile. "Thank you, Dex. I should get going now. Itâs getting late."
"Letâs go, babe," Sana said, trying to maintain her composure as they exited.
She turned to her friends and bid them goodbye, sending them her usual radiant smile before heading towards the exit with Y/N in tow. As they walked away, Sana glanced at Y/N, who had fallen unusually silent. This was quite a contrast to Y/Nâs typically talkative nature.
Y/Nâs cheeks flushed a deep crimson, and she remained oddly quiet, not meeting Sanaâs gaze. The silence was almost palpable, and Sana couldnât help but find it amusing. It was like Y/N was suddenly at a loss for words, which was a rare occurrence.
When they arrived at Sanaâs parked car, Y/N slowly removed her arm from Sanaâs waist. "O-Oh, Iâm sorry."
Sana nodded, though she couldnât deny a pang of disappointment. She missed the warmth of Y/Nâs arm around her waist, though sheâd never admit it to herselfâor to Y/N. "Itâs fine," Sana replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
Clearing her throat, Sana decided to address start the conversation. "So, Y/N," she began with a teasing edge, "why exactly are you here? Have you been following me since the café incident? Did you catch a feeling for me or something?"
Y/N let out a small, amused laugh. "Oh, please. Even if Nayeon were to kiss me right now, I wouldnât fall for you. Not that I wouldnât mind Nayeonâs kiss, but still, it wonât happen."
Sana rolled her eyes, muttering to herself, "So, the woman who was all charming and mischievous is still in there somewhere. Figures."
Y/N continued, her voice taking on a more serious tone, though the twinkle in her eye suggested she was still enjoying the moment. "Actually, Maria asked me to cover for her tonight since she needed to pick up her daughter. And I couldnât say no because, well, Maria said sheâd let me borrow her Xbox. And honestly, I canât say no to Xbox."
Sana raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Youâre really something, Y/N. Using the promise of Xbox as an excuse to crash my evening?"
Y/N shrugged with a grin. "Hey, a girlâs gotta have her priorities."
Sana rolled her eyes at Y/Nâs previous comment. "Seriously, Y/N?" Sana muttered to herself, loud enough for Y/N to hear. "Maria didnât even bother to tell me sheâd be sending you as a substitute."
She pulled out her phone and noticed a new message from Maria. Y/N glanced at the screen and smirked. "Looks like you just didnât check your phone earlier. Maria did mention it."
Sana sighed, shaking her head. "Yeah, well, thanks for âsavingâ my night, especially from Dex."
Y/Nâs smirk widened. "Hey, someone had to step in. Otherwise, youâd still be dealing with that guy."
Sana rolled her eyes again. "I couldâve handled Dex on my own, and itâs not like I needed your helpâespecially not after what you did."
Y/N clutched her chest dramatically. "Oh, the hurt! After all Iâve done for you tonight, this is how you repay me? I still helped you, despite your café shenanigans. How ungrateful!"
Sana let out a frustrated sigh. "I didnât ask for your help. You only ended up ruining my night."
With that, Sana opened the car door and got in, clearly annoyed. Y/N followed suit, sliding into the passenger seat with an exaggerated, dramatic flair. She placed a hand on her heart and said, "Wait, Sana! Donât leave me like this. Iâll be a better girlfriend, I swear!"
Sana rolled her eyes and adjusted her sunglasses, crossing her arms. "Shut up, Y/N. Youâre being so annoying right now."
Y/N chuckled, continuing her over-the-top act. "Oh, come on! Just give me a chance. I promise to be the girlfriend of your dreamsâor at least the one who can tolerate your mood swings."
Sana shook her head, a small smile tugging at her lips despite her frustration. "Youâre impossible."
As they drove home, Y/N kept up her playful banter, making exaggerated gestures and dramatic sighs.
Sana grumbled loud enough for Y/N to hear, "I really hope Maria doesnât make a habit of sending you whenever sheâs unavailable."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a smirk forming. "Oh, so youâre not a fan of my company?"
Sana shook her head. "Youâre something else. But yeah, it would be nice to have a break from your antics." Sana leaned back in her seat, trying to relax. âI'm actually trying to take a nap on the way home. So if you donât want me to let you walk, you might want to zip it.â
Y/Nâs eyes widened in mock horror, but she immediately sealed her lips and gave a playful nod. âUnderstood, your highness.â
Sana closed her eyes, adjusting her seat as she tried to settle in for a short nap. Y/N respected the request, although she couldnât help but occasionally sneak a smile at Sana, finding the whole situation amusing.
