"Co-Star Pt.2"
Sana Short Imagines
Y/N's POV
Months had passed since we finished filming, and we were now at the premier for our new movie. The interviewer welcomed us and asked some questions about the movie. When she asked about Joo-hyuk, being our old co-star, I replied, "Yes, that's correct. But there's a problem. Joo-hyuk is actually one of my friends, and I was hoping to cover for him."
The interviewer raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
I smiled. "Well, I was actually casted by the director before Joo-hyuk. But I declined the offer because I thought working with Sana would be a lot of pressure. She's a great actress, after all."
Sana's eyes widened in shock. "You didn't tell me this before," she said, her voice cold.
I shrugged. "I didn't think it was necessary. But then, Joo-hyuk gave the role back to me, and I couldn't decline this time. I guess it was meant to be."
The interviewer looked amazed by the story. "Wow, that's quite a story," she said, making a joke. "I guess Sana might be in a lot of pressure too, since she's working with you."
The interviewer continued the interview, mentioning that there were many idols and actresses who were there to support our movie, including Im Nayeon, Chou Tzuyu, Son Chaeyoung, Yoo Jeongyeon, Kim Dahyun, Lee Jieun, Kang Seulgi, Park Sooyoung, Kim Jisoo, Park Seo-joon, Jessica Jung, DO Kyungsoo, and even Joo-hyuk himself.
After the interview, we thanked all of the guests for coming and congratulated them on their success. We were busy entertaining our guests as we had an after-party.
I walked over to Sana and handed her a glass of wine. "Congratulations on our success," I said, smiling.
Sana nodded and took a sip of her wine. She looked at me and said, "Can you accompany me to the rooftop?"
But before she could ask me again, a woman approached us and slipped her hand onto my arm.
Sana's eyes narrowed as she looked at the woman.
I turned to see who it was and my eyes widened in surprise. It was none other than Bae Suzy.
"Ah, Sana-ssi," Suzy said, greeting Sana with a warm smile. "Congratulations to both of you on your successful movie. I've been watching it and I must say, your acting is superb. I'm even convinced that you two are together."
Sana's expression turned cold, and she raised an eyebrow. "I think you're confusing fiction with reality, Suzy-ssi," she said dryly.
Suzy laughed. "Oh, right. Well I must say that I can see the chemistry between you two on screen. But I know that it isn't what I am thinking tho knowing that you hated Y/N."
I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I realized what Suzy was insinuating. I didn't know how to react, so I just stood there, feeling like an awkward fool.
Suzy then turned to me and asked, "May I have Y/N for a while? Just for a little chat."
I was about to reason out, but before I could say anything, Sana nodded and said, "Y/N's all yours. You can take her."
I felt a sting of hurt as Sana dismissed me like that. I didn't know why she was being so cold towards me all of a sudden.
Suzy smiled and took my arm, leading me away from Sana. "Come on, Y/N. Let's talk about something more interesting than acting."
As we walked away, I couldn't help but feel frustrated and hurt. Why was Sana being so cold towards me? And what did Suzy want to talk about that was more interesting than acting?
Hours had passed since I got free from Suzy. I was finally able to get myself a drink and look for Sana. I couldn't find her anywhere, but then I remembered that she invited me to the rooftop earlier. I walked up to the rooftop, and sure enough, I found Sana standing there, sipping her wine.
I approached her and went beside her, handing her a glass of wine. "Just in time," I said. "Your wine is already gone."
Sana accepted the wine and thanked me. But all I could hear was silence. I decided to speak up, asking, "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
Sana faced me, her expression unreadable. "Are you confessing your love for me indirectly?" she asked, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.
I chuckled. "No, I didn't know about that. I was just saying that the moon is beautiful."
Sana rolled her eyes and faced the view again. I stared at her face, feeling a sense of longing. "You're also beautiful," I said, my voice serious.
Sana's expression turned cold. "Stop messing with me and go back inside. All you can do is mess with me."
I defended myself. "I'm just speaking my mind."
Sana nodded, then asked, "So, you and Suzy know each other?"
"We'd been friends for a year now, since we met at one of my projects. Why do you ask tho? Are you perhaps jealous?"
Sana nodded again. Then, with a teasing smile, she asked, "Are you delusional?"
I shook my head. "No, I'm just asking."
Sana playedfully insulted me. "You're not someone who's usually approached by someone with a good reputation or someone famous in the industry, and it seems that Suzy like you in another way."
I replied, "You don't have to insult me. And I'm a likeable person, so it's not new to me to have someone like me."
Sana said, "I don't like you tho."
I took a deep breath. "But I do like you," I said, my voice sincere. "A lot."
Sana remained silent, so I continued to speak up. "You look beautiful in that dress you're wearing. And when I said that I like you, I'm serious."
I didn't get a response from Sana, so I asked her if she wanted to get out of here. She looked at me with a skeptical expression and asked, "Are you going to kidnap me?"
I chuckled. "No, I'm not going to kidnap you. You're not a kid."
Sana didn't reply, but I was already dragging her out of there. We reached the parking lot, and I opened the car door for her to enter. Sana hesitated, looking unsure of what to do. I pushed her inside, making her squeal in annoyance.
I laughed and got into the driving seat. Sana turned to me and said, "We should have informed our managers that we're leaving. This is unprofessional."
I shrugged. "It's better this way. It adds a thrill."
Sana's expression turned incredulous. "Seriously?"
I just smiled. "If you're asking if I'm going to abduct you, I have to say that I won't do that, and I'm not that kind of person."
Sana raised an eyebrow. "Why would you even say that?"
I chuckled. "I'm just saying. Well, maybe if you asked me to do it, then I would."
Sana shook her head in disbelief. "You look like one."
I stopped driving when we arrived at our destination. Sana was about to open her door, but I beat her to it. As she got out of the car, she noticed that we were at McDonald's.
She looked at me with a mixture of confusion and annoyance. "Are you messing with me?"
I shook my head. "I'm just hungry. I brought you here because I wanted to eat here."
Sana and I found our seats and ordered some food. When our food arrived, I started eating. Sana shook her head in disbelief.
"You brought me to McDonald's because you're hungry? I thought you were going to bring me somewhere romantic."
I replied, taking a bite of my food. "I don't like romantic stuff."
Sana looked at me sternly. "If you're trying to win my heart, you should at least bring me somewhere decent to eat."
I silly smiled at her question. "Do you think I'm trying to win your heart?"
Sana's expression turned dumbfounded. She thought that I liked her, and now it seemed like it was just a joke.
I just smiled and went back to eating my food.
As I continued eating, I couldn't help but think about Sana's reaction. She was so caught off guard, and I loved seeing her like that.
I looked up at her and said, "You know, I think I am trying to win your heart."
Sana looked at me like I was crazy. "What? Why?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. I just know that I really like you, and I want you."
Sana looked at me like I was speaking a different language. "You're trying to win my heart? By bringing me to McDonald's?"
I chuckled. "Well, maybe not exactly. But I wanted to do something spontaneous and fun. And I thought this would be a good way to spend some time together."
Sana shook her head, still looking confused. "I don't know what to say."
I smiled at her. "Just say that you're willing to give me a chance."
Sana looked at me seriously, and for a moment, I thought she was going to say no. But then she spoke up.
"You have to take me somewhere decent to eat next time," she said with a poker face making me smile.
After we finished eating, I stood up and invited Sana for a walk. She nodded, and we walked out of McDonald's. We strolled along the park, enjoying the cool evening air. As we walked, I noticed that Sana was shivering. I decided to remove my suit and place it on her.
Sana looked at me in surprise. "As far as I can remember, you don't like romantic stuff. So, why are you being romantic?"
I wore my silly smile again. "You thought I'm being romantic?"
Sana rolled her eyes. "Stop repeating my words."
I chuckled and continued walking. We soon reached the seafront, and I saw a bench that looked inviting. I decided to stop and sit for a while, facing the sea.
Sana followed me and sat down beside me. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and I felt a sense of calm wash over me.
We sat there in silence for a while, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. I couldn't help but steal glances at Sana, who seemed to be lost in thought.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the sea, I turned to Sana and asked her if she was okay. She looked at me with a hint of surprise and smiled slightly.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said. "Just enjoying the view."
I smiled back at her and continued to gaze out at the sea. The silence between us was comfortable.
I turned to Sana and asked, "Hey, can I ask you something?"
Sana looked at me with a hint of curiosity. "What is it?"
"Why do you hate me?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Sana's expression turned dry. "I don't hate you. I just don't like you."
I nodded, understanding. "That's the same thing to me."
Sana raised an eyebrow. "It's not the same thing."
I was about to argue, but Sana gave me a deadly stare that made me chuckle and fall silent. Ah, okay, I thought. Guess I'm not getting away with that one.
We sat there for a moment in silence, the only sound being the waves crashing against the shore. Then, I stood up and told Sana, "I think it's getting late. We should probably head back."
Sana nodded, and I turned to leave when she suddenly grabbed my hand. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as I looked at her.
"Do you need anything?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
Sana rolled her eyes, noticing my blushing state. "You're the one who brought me here, genius. You should drive me home."
I giggled and scratched my head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Right, sorry about that."
We got back into the car, and I drove Sana to her hotel. As we pulled up to the entrance, she thanked me for the night and smiled at me.
"It's nothing," I said, smiling back at her.
But as I was about to leave the car to open her door to let her out, she stopped me. "Wait," she said.
I turned back to her, and she leaned in and kissed my cheek. My heart skipped a beat as I froze, unsure of how to react.
Sana got out of the car and turned back to me. "I hope for more stupid dates with you," she said with a still serious look.
I was still reeling from the kiss on my cheek when she turned and walked away into the hotel lobby. I sat there in stunned silence for a moment before finally coming back to life.
Well, that was unexpected. What was that woman thinking? She's so hard to read. But hey, I'll take it!
