Chapter 39

Paris Bound

SIGNED TO BE HIS

The day had been a whirlwind of emotions, with Grace and Jax trying to navigate the sudden spotlight that had been thrust upon them. As the evening crept in, they were finally starting to unwind, sitting together on the couch. The noise from outside seemed far away, drowned out by the comfortable silence that had settled between them.

But the peace didn't last long.

The doorbell rang, breaking the calm. Jax glanced at Grace, furrowing his brow. "I wasn't expecting anyone."

Grace shrugged, already standing up. "Maybe it's someone from the press again?"

Jax shook his head, walking toward the door with a sigh. When he opened it, there stood his mother—her face usually stern, but today, there was an excited glimmer in her eyes. Behind her were two familiar faces: his bandmates, also smiling wide, their energy unmistakable.

"Mom?" Jax raised an eyebrow, glancing at the band members. "What's going on?"

His mother walked in with purpose, her gaze flickering to Grace before locking eyes with Jax. "We have some news. Big news."

Jax felt his stomach twist in confusion. "Big news?" He turned to look at his bandmates, his mind racing. What could possibly be going on?

The tension in the room shifted as his mother nodded. "You've been talking about a reunion for a while now, haven't you? Well, it's happening."

Jax's eyes widened. "Wait, what do you mean it's happening?"

She stepped aside, allowing his bandmates to step forward. His drummer, Noah, clapped him on the back. "You've got a show, Jax. A big one. We're reuniting for a major concert."

Jax blinked. "A concert?"

Noah grinned, unable to hold back his excitement. "Yeah, man. This is the one. It's going to be huge. Bigger than anything we've done before."

Jax couldn't help but smile. "A reunion tour? Are you serious?"

His mother nodded, her expression proud. "I've been working on it behind the scenes. The details are still being finalized, but it's happening. We're talking a full comeback."

Grace, standing behind him, smiled with a mix of shock and admiration. "That's amazing, Jax."

The excitement was contagious, and Jax felt a rush of adrenaline flood through him. He turned back to his mother, his voice slightly disbelieving. "So, you've been planning this? Why didn't you tell me?"

His mother smiled, her eyes twinkling. "I wanted to surprise you. But now you know. It's time to make it official."

Jax looked at his bandmates, his chest swelling with a mix of pride and nerves. It had been a while since they played together, and the idea of going back on stage—especially with everything that had happened—felt surreal.

His bassist, Ethan, spoke up, grinning. "This is gonna be one hell of a show. We've got the whole world watching us now, Jax. It's the perfect time for a reunion."

Jax let out a deep breath, still processing everything. "I don't even know where to start."

His mother's tone softened, and she placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll help you with that. But you have to admit, this is the chance we've all been waiting for."

Grace, who had been quiet for a moment, took a step forward. "You're going to crush it, Jax. You've always been amazing, and this is your moment."

Jax felt a smile tug at his lips as he looked at her. Her support meant everything. For once, the idea of the spotlight didn't feel so terrifying. Not when he had people who cared about him standing by his side.

He turned back to his band, his eyes serious but excited. "Alright, then. Let's do this."

His mother clapped her hands, a smile breaking across her face. "That's the spirit. You've got this."

The excitement in the room was palpable, and for the first time in a long while, Jax felt like everything was falling into place. With Grace by his side, the band reunited, and the chance to get back on stage... maybe this was the fresh start he needed.

The excitement in the room was electric, but Jax was still processing what his mother had just told him. "Wait, wait," he said, his brow furrowing. "Where is this concert going to be?"

His mother smiled slyly, clearly enjoying the moment. "Paris."

Jax froze. "Paris?"

Grace's eyes widened in shock. She looked between Jax and his mother, her breath catching. "Paris?" she echoed, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jax turned to her, an amused grin on his face. "Yeah, I guess we're going international."

Grace swallowed, her mind racing. Paris. It felt so surreal. So far away from everything she'd been used to. But there was something exciting about it. Something that made her pulse race with anticipation.

Jax noticed her hesitation. "Hey," he said softly, stepping toward her. "You know you're coming with me, right? I'm not leaving you here." He gave her a reassuring smile, his voice warm. "We'll go together. You can support me, just like you always do."

Grace blinked at him, feeling her heart settle a little at his words. He said it like it was the most natural thing in the world, like there was no way he would go without her. And maybe, just maybe, she was ready for this.

She nodded, a smile breaking out across her face. "Yeah," she said, her voice firmer now. "I'll go with you. I'm not leaving you to do this alone."

Jax grinned and pulled her into a quick hug, his excitement practically radiating off him. "Good. Because I'm not doing this without you. Paris, here we come."

His mother chuckled at the two of them, obviously pleased with the way things were unfolding. "It's going to be a whirlwind, Jax. But you're ready for it. All of you are."

The band members exchanged glances, some nodding while others laughed.

"Paris, huh?" Ethan, the bassist, said with a grin. "I'll be honest, I didn't think we'd be getting that international anytime soon."

Noah, the drummer, laughed. "Yeah, but with Jax, who knows? This is the perfect way to kick things off."

Jax looked around at the group of people who had been with him through thick and thin. His bandmates, his mom, and now Grace. It felt like everything was finally falling into place.

"Alright," Jax said, running a hand through his hair, his excitement still bubbling. "Paris it is. Let's make this reunion something to remember."

Grace smiled up at him, her nerves slowly melting away. For the first time, she felt like they were truly in this together. No more pretending, no more playing roles. Just two people, ready to take on whatever came next. And what came next? Paris, and whatever else the future held for them.

And for the first time in a long time, Grace was ready to face it. With Jax by her side.
