Chapter 58 - Can’t Stand Him So Screw Him

“Who’s in charge of the tax money case?” Little Zhou asked curiously.

“The Forbidden Martial Guards and the God Enforcement Division are jointly responsible.” Shen Yiming replied after a pause. He didn’t seem to think highly of them.

“The Forbidden Martial Guards are a little better. The God Enforcement Division has just recovered a little from the last incident. It’s going to be difficult to find out the truth.”

Xiao Ran asked the question that had been troubling him.

“There was no lockdown in the capital city after such a major incident?”

He then turned around.

The lieutenant quickly greeted them. “Greetings, my lords!”

“Where are the people from the Ministry of Defense being held?” Shen Yiming asked.

“They’re being held on the third floor.”

“Take us there.”

When they reached the third floor,

the Assistant Minister of Defense and a group of officials who were on duty last night were all imprisoned here.

Shen Yiming said, “Let’s split up. Report any clues immediately.”

The three went their separate ways.

Xiao Ran entered a cell and looked at the suspect who was imprisoned. His skin was torn and bloody, his hair disheveled. It seemed that he had suffered a lot of torture before his visit. The dungeon guard had already interrogated him once.

He invoked the Spirit Shifting Soul Control technique to control his mind and begin the interrogation.

After one round of interrogation, not a single clue was unearthed.

He withdrew the Spirit Shifting Soul Control technique and left the cell. He then entered the next one.

An hour later,

the three of them met up again.

“Any results?” Shen Yiming asked.

Xiao Ran shook his head. The people he interrogated were all normal. No one could hide from his Spirit Shifting Soul Control technique.

Little Zhou also shook his head.

“I knew this would happen. If the case was so easy to crack, this task wouldn’t have landed on our laps,” Shen Yiming said.

“What do we do now?” Little Zhou asked.

“Go to the Ministry of Defense and meet with the Spiritual Divinity Bureau. Let’s see if they have uncovered any clues.”

When they arrived at the Ministry of Defense,

they happened to bump into the people from the Spiritual Divinity Bureau confronting the people from the Sacred Martial Bureau.

Both sides were purportedly “old friends.”

The person in charge of the case from the Spiritual Divinity Bureau was Ling Qing’er. She had once guarded the Celestial Dungeon with Shen Yiming. Since they were old partners, the case could be solved with half the effort.

The leader heading the investigation from the Sacred Martial Bureau was Li Heng.

Previously, he was almost killed by the Massacre Matchmaker. After he recovered from his injuries, he happened to encounter this matter when he reported back for duty and was duly dispatched here.

Nodding to Ling Qing’er, he stood side by side with her.

The Sacred Martial Bureau with their big team, originally held a big advantage. However with the arrival of Shen Yiming and his gang, they lost the advantage in numbers.

Li Heng’s face clouded over. “Is your mouth asking for a beating? You didn’t learn your lesson last time and still want to have another taste, is it?”

“I don’t like his face. Shall we attack together?” Shen Yiming asked.

Ling Qing’er smiled and stroked her hair. “Screw him!”

She was the first to charge forward. Her spiritual soul energy rushed out and transformed into a terrifying ax hundreds of feet in size. It went slashing down in an overpowering sweep.

Shen Yiming wasn’t far behind. He drew out his sword and slashed out hundreds of times in an instant. The sharp sword energy containing immense power, was cunning and vicious as it stabbed at his lower body.

“You guys are shameless!” Li Heng shouted in exasperation.

Li Heng dared not delay. He immediately executed his claw technique and spun an impenetrable wall of defense to protect himself securely.

With the two of them working together, Li Heng was at an absolute disadvantage and was forced to keep defending himself.

The subordinates brought by both sides stared at one another, not knowing what to do.

Little Zhou asked, “Brother Xiao, shall we join in?”

“They’re already fighting. Do you think we can simply stand by and watch?” Xiao Ran asked.

This guy was quite street-smart. He looked at the four girls from the Spiritual Divinity Bureau. All of them were spiritual masters and were bright and beautiful. They were young and had good figures.

“Ladies, don’t be afraid. We will never let the Sacred Martial Bureau bully you! Everyone, let’s attack together and give these bastards a severe thrashing,” Little Zhou called out.

He then lowered his voice making sure that only the two of them could hear, “Brother Xiao, take care of me later.”

Activating his Fleeing Cataglyphis Technique, he vanished, leaving behind an afterimage. He re-appeared in front of someone from the Sacred Martial Bureau and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Seeing him attack,

the four ladies of the Spiritual Divinity Bureau realized that they shared a common enemy. Even the Divine Sword Guards were standing up for their lady so how could they watch helplessly?

With a gush of immense spiritual soul energy, they activated their spiritual skills and pummeled the guys from Sacred Martial Bureau.

Xiao Ran was dumbstruck. Wasn’t this a little too enthusiastic?

“Then what are we doing?”
