49. New Guests

6 MONTHS LATER

Aryaman-Maitri and Aviraj-Nidhi were home for vacations again after 6 months.

"Ready?" Maitri and Nidhi looked at each other worriedly.

"I am not sure of this" Nidhi said chewing on to her nails in nervousness.

"Same" Maitri sat down beside Nidhi and both the ladies took in deep breathes.

"We will need to check this" Nidhi said looking at Maitri.

"Is it a must?" Maitri looked at Nidhi standing up and looked away from her.

"Ayeeee, can we both stop please scaring each other" Nidhi said pulling Maitri beside her.

"Together?" Nidhi asked as they both crossed their fingers.

"Done" Both stood up and walked to the washrooms with their pregnancy kits. They stayed in the washroom panicking about the outcome.

"Nidhii" Maitri ringed Nidhi from her phone who picked up immediately.

"What if Maan and I are not ready? I can't handle glass plates how will I handle a child?" Maitri closed the toilet seat and sat on it, extremely worried.

"I am thinking same. What if I and Avi aren't ready for such a huge responsibility? What if the child grows up to hate us? I am scared" Nidhi looked at herself in the mirror nervous about the outcome on the pregnancy stick. Both the ladies remained silent, trying to figure out their emotions.

"I think two minutes are done" Maitri said, rubbing her hands together trying to make them warm.

"You tell me what yours says when I do a countdown, I'll you mine" Nidhi said gulping down the saliva.

"Ready?" Nidhi asked to which Maitri hummed.

"3...2...1" Nidhi did the countdown.

"POSITIVE" Both of them shrieked in shock and went completely silent.

"I don't know why but I am crying out of happiness" Nidhi confessed seeing the two pink lines on the pregnancy test stick.

"Me too" Maitri said bursting into more tears as she smiled seeing the stick.

"Why are we crying?" Maitri asked as she laughed and washed the pregnancy kit and wrapped it in a tissue paper.

"Probably because we are mad" Nidhi did the same and walked out of the washroom. Both the ladies dumped the sticks in the garbage directly so no one sees it and walked to the balcony and hugged each other tightly.

"Congratulations to-be mom" They wished each other and smiled widely and spent a few minutes breathing in deeply and enjoying the bliss of the good news.

"How are we breaking the news to the family?" Nidhi asked Maitri who looked at her confused as she had no idea.

"We could call all for dinner and then break it to them" Maitri suggested.

"That's a good idea for starters but we can't just say that 'Hey guys we are pregnant' that's just so simple" Nidhi whispered looking around if anyone heard them.

"I think I have an idea" Maitri said while smiling widely.

"Call everyone for dinner" Maitri said with a wink as she left the balcony to tell the chef to cook specific dishes.

"Hey wait!" Nidhi suddenly remembered something and stopped her. Maitri looked at her confused.

"Tonight is the night where we all meet, friends and family for dinner" Nidhi reminded her.

"Oh fuck yeah. I completely forgot about it" Maitri remembered and hit her head lightly for forgetting an important thing.

"What was your idea?" Nidhi asked excitedly.

"Ohh yeah" Maitri told her the plan and both of them looked at each other with wide smiles.

"Why are we standing here, let's go. There's alot to do" Maitri pulled Nidhi with her as they prepared for their surprise.

AFTER DINNER

Everyone including all Aryaman's friends, and Nidhi and Maitri's families were laid out in the living room after having a delicious dinner.

"What's for dessert?" Rishav asked excitedly as he had the largest sweet tooth amongst everyone. Aarchi looked at Risha with a glare, reminding him of his diabetes. Rishav looked at her with extra cute puppy eyes which made her heart soften towards him and she nodded her head. Maitri and Nidhi looked at each other excitedly and clapped their hands and soon the helpers came with alot of boxes placed in large platters.

Everyone looked at it confused.

"The first one to understand the clue, come stand behind us and don't say anything to anyone please" Nidhi explained them the rules and passed them the box with their names written on it.

One by one everyone opened their boxes and soon happy faces were seen. All the ladies in the room understood it in the first glance and looked at Maitri and Nidhi for confirmation who nodded their heads. They walked and stood behind both with almost teary gazes. One by one even the men started to understand the clue and smiled and walked to the ladies except two men who were the most important people in the room, fighting over who had a better cupcake.

"Bro I have two cupcakes" Aviraj said with a smirk thinking that Aryaman has less than him.

"I have 2 too" Aryaman looked at Aviraj with a smirk and peeled the wrapper away from the cupcake. Maitri and Nidhi looked at each other with hopelessness wondering why they fell for children stuck in adult bodies.

"Mine looks better" Aviraj still didn't give up on the fight.

"Mine is way better than yours. It even has stuff written on it" Aryaman turned his both cupcakes towards Aviraj with a smirk that showed he was winning.

"Mine has same shit written. I think they by mistake placed dad's and Yuvaan chachu's cupcakes in ours" Aviraj said peeling the wrapper of his cupcake.

"We are eating your cupcakes dad and chachu. Whoever got ours, feel free to return it to the cupcake's original consumer" Aryaman said looking at the whole family behind Maitri and Nidhi.

Both the brothers finished the two cupcakes that were in their boxes and looked at Maitri and Nidhi who were glaring at them with tears in their eyes.

"Why are you both crying?" Aviraj stood up to console Nidhi.

"Tell them we don't want to talk to them" Maitri looked at Rishav and Kaira angrily.

"But what did we do?" Aryaman held Maitri's hand stopping her from turning away from him.

"You guys were born tube light or is it a trait you recently evolved?" Vihaan asked hugging Aarchi from behind.

"Huh?" Aviraj and Aryaman looked at Vihaan confused.

"Leave them. I don't even want to talk to them" Maitri pushed Aryaman's hand away from hers and pulled Nidhi with her into the garden.

"And we were happy about this in the morning" Maitri said angrily as she sat on the swing.

"Everyone in the room understood it except the two main characters because of whom we are in this condition" Nidhi leaned her head on the swing's chain, tiredly.

On the other hand, Aryaman and Aviraj looked at Maitri and Nidhi's retreating forms confused.

"Can someone please explain what we did wrong that they walked away?" Aryaman asked huffing.

"You should have thought that when you still had the chance" Manav pulled Vihaan and Raj with him as the 5 friends formed a circle.

"What did we do?" Aviraj whispered looking at the rest.

"The late night adventures that you both did, they are now known to the world" Raj said in the most subtlest way possible. Aryaman and Aviraj looked at each other for a few minutes and then a look of remembrance passed between them.

"Did they get to know about us eating pav bhaji from outside at night when they cook Brinjal for dinner?" Aryaman asked worried. Raj threw his hands up in air and broke the circle.

"I give up on them" He announced and walked to Nitya and Yukti.

"You know all the stuff that you and your wives do together, most of the time. Something you both LOVEEE to do" Manav tried to give him hints and even wiggled his eyebrows to show them what he meant but the twins looked at Manav as if he grew a horn on his head.

"Me too, I give up!" Manav walked away wondering how friends were so dumb.

"Dudes, what the fuck are you dimwits?" Vihaan lost his cool and whispered angrily.

"The sexual intercourse you both had with your wives recently might have lacked a condom or the one you were using was defected. I can't get more clear than this" Vihaan looked at both of them angrily and slowly by slowly the brothers realised what the titles on the cupcakes meant.

"FUCK!!!" Aryaman and Aviraj looked at each other with happiness and hugged each other.

"Gosh we were so stupid" Aryaman said pushing everyone away as they made their way to the garden to see the two ladies sitting on the swing sad. They ran to them and pulled them into a deep kiss.

"Thank you thank you thank you" Aryaman hugged Maitri tightly before he went down  onto his both knees and kissed her stomach.

"I am so sorry baby I couldn't recognize the hints your mumma was trying to pass" Aryaman spoke to her stomach.

"Umm sorry to ruin the emo speech but the one you are speaking to cannot hear you actually. It is still like probably the size of a tennis ball. Just saying but feel free to continue speaking" Nidhi heard Aryaman and couldn't control the doctor in her from speaking out.

"Aviiii" Aryaman called out Aviraj asking him to do something so Nidhi would shut up. Aviraj got the memo and pulled Nidhi into another deep kiss until she was left breathless. Maitri laughed hearing Aryaman talk to her stomach and seeing him kiss her stomach.

"You've given me the best gift of life" He hugged her and kissed her.

"So finally you understood what the cupcakes said?" She asked with a huge smile.

"Vihaan had to use a language we understand and then we understood. Sorry for ruining your surprise" Aryaman couldn't believe himself that he was going to be a father.

"I... I promise you I'd try to be the best father in the world" He said looking deep into her eyes as she shed a few tears and rested her head on his chest. Both the couples walked in happily, hand in hand and soon the whole family and their friends congratulated the couples for the new happiness.

"How does it feel shithead to be a grandfather?" Ruhanika asked placing her hand on Rishav's shoulder who looked at his family with happiness.

"It feels like I just fucking achieved a milestone. Two good news in one day, can you imagine?" Rishav said with a huge smile pasted on his lips that refused to reduce even slightly. Ruhanika laughed lightly.

"Congrats man" She hugged him, genuinely happy for him.

"Thanks" He said looking at the way Aviraj and Aryaman already started taking precautions.

"It is funny how all the kids are going to be close in age, considering Namrata also revealed that she's pregnant too just a few months back" Ruhanika said remembering that Saaransh's wife was pregnant too and just the way their kids were all close, now even their kids were going to be a tight group.

"Time flew by very fast. It feels like just yesterday when we held Aryu and Avi's hands and brought them home with Aaru in Kaira's hands. They grew up too fast" Rishav got slightly emotional. He felt a whole series of memories running in the background seeing his sons now be fathers.

"Don't go all sappy on me man. Am not going to give you my shoulder to cry on, go do that with my bestie am sure she'll give you more than her shoulder" Ruhanika said making a face.

"When will you stop with your dirty mind talks?"

"Never. I am the cool woman of the house who's got to teach the kids how to do stuff the right way" Ruhanika winked at him.

"You are mad" Rishav laughed pulling her with him to where everyone was.

"You'll be a good grandfather, chill okay" Ruhanika said with a smile that twinkled in her eyes and Rishav nodded his head feeling confident.
