21. Sexual Tension

Aryaman, Maitri and Aviraj had been spending most of their days at the hospital with Raj and Yukti, waiting for the doctors to clear Nitya so they could take the little girl home.

On one fine morning, Maitri had sneaked into Nitya's room and carried her in her arms and walked to the window which overlooked the city. Nitya was completely awake and looked at Maitri happily.

"Aww my bacha is soo happy" Maitri rubbed the backside of her finger on Nitya's cheek smiling. Nitya made babbling noises telling Maitri she understood her well.

"Aren't you the strongest kid I know?" Maitri laughed at Nitya's excitement of throwing her hands around in air. Nitya placed her palms on Maitri's cheek, feeling the softness of it.

"My cheeks aren't as soft as yours baba... Hayee nazar na lage mere bache ko, thu thu thu" Maitri said rubbing Nitya's cheeks and realized that she might cast an evil spell on her so immediately turned her face away from the small one and spat out the words that might be venomous.

"You believe in superstitions?" Maitri turned around at the new voice, holding Nitya close to her body, protecting her from any potential danger. She relaxed seeing it was Nidhi standing at the door with her stethoscope around her neck.

"My luck isn't very good so yes I do believe in superstitions. What about you?" Maitri asked walking to Nitya's bed to place her down so Nidhi can examine her.

"Not until recently. Heart needs something to believe in when another part of it breaks" Nidhi wore the stethoscope and placed one end of it on Nitya's chest, looking at her watch keenly.

"What was in the other part of the heart that broke?" Maitri asked curiously.

"Belief in love" Nidhi said with a small smile.

"Am sorry" Maitri quickly apologized feeling guilty of making Nidhi remember painful memories.

"Its fine. Despite being a math student, I believed in happily ever after love stories" Nidhi shook her head with a sad smile and picked the hanging board at the base of the bed.

"I didn't get it" Maitri said confused.

"Maths... It has the saddest love stories. Parallel lines will never meet, tangent lines only meet once before growing apart forever and asymptotes will move closer and closer but will never be together" Nidhi replied jotting down Nitya's heartrate and other necessary information.

"Is my wonderful being awaiting the Cool Uncle?" Aryaman entered the room with a few small soft toys happily, not aware of the ladies in the room.

"I'll check how far her discharge process is" Nidhi said excusing herself.

"Parallel line never intersect each other but they walk together till infinity. Tangent lines only meet once before growing apart forever so the same mistake isn't repeated. Asymptotes will move closer and closer but will never be together because no matter how hard you try because somethings are better when on their own" Maitri said with her back facing Nidhi as she picked a soft toy from Aryaman and attempted to play with Nitya.

"Excuses of heart" Nidhi said liking Maitri's way of thinking.

"Better being hurt than never being loved" Maitri turned around and winked at Nidhi who chuckled lightly and walked away. Aryaman tried asking Maitri about what they were talking about but Maitri waved it off saying it was girls talk.

Later that day Nitya was given a discharge, and everyone went home.

"Maitri" Aryaman stopped her when she was leaving his car.

"Hmm?" She looked at him expectantly.

"Its a friday today" He reminded her.

"Yeah so?" She asked confused.

"Our date night" He tried to hide his blush.

"Am not picking the next location of our date. I've already messed it up once. From now, you take me on dates because we've seen what happens when I do it" She said embarrassed of how their first date had gone. She still felt guilty about throwing Aryaman in dangerous situation because of her.

"Can I take you on a date tomorrow? I just want to go home and sleep, please?" He said hoping her answer would be yes and she won't be angry on him for cancelling the date.

"Its perfect. We both can get over the week's stress and meet tomorrow completely ready to take the bull by the horns" She understood his tiredness. He was working relentlessly with the movement of files from India to Newyork where he was making things easier for himself to shift.

The next day of their first date, Aryaman and Maitri had met the lawyer who'd told him that they could date each other for a month before the process of Aryaman stepping down from his CEO position would start. Later that day she managed to sneak out Rishav and Kaira's number from the lawyer and called them.

"Hello" She anxiously waited for them to reply.

"Hi beta" Kaira replied with a huge smile on her face seeing Maitri.

"How are you?" Maitri asked nervously not knowing how to begin the main part of her video call. Rishav sat beside Kaira dressed elegantly in his three-piece suit, still looking young while Kaira wore a bodycon dress that fit her figure perfectly, making her look approachable and yet 'do-not-touch'.

"Am fine. How are you and Aryu? All well? You both met the lawyer?" Rishav and Kaira asked worriedly.

"We both are fine. Actually, I wanted to talk to you about Aryaman if you don't mind" Maitri cracked her left-hand knuckles wondering. whether she was doing the right things or not.

"Yeah sure" Kaira looked at Rishav confused about what Aryaman could have done.

"Is there no other way where he could shift to Newyork and yet be a CEO. Am not saying this because I want his money. I can live even on the streets if he's by my side. I've tried everything that could make him change his decision and say no to me but he's hell-bent on staying and marrying me. In just a few days I've realized that he's the one I want to be with. I'm not against moving back to India but I have my own personal reasons to not return home. I don't wish Aryaman loses something he's worked so hard for because of my choices. I don't want him to choose between work and me. I feel guilty" She placed the phone in the phone holder and walked back and forth keeping her eyes on her hands.

"Hahahahaha" Rishav laughed hard at her innocence. Kaira smiled biting on her lip to stop herself from laughing on the young girl.

"Don't worry Maitri, I know why I've made this decision. By the time this one month ends, trust me beta, you'll know why I did this. Money or the CEO position will never be the reason for you to feel guilty about anything. And as far as Aryaman is concerned, it was his decision to take, and he chose the best option. Am glad that you feel that he shouldn't have left his career for you but dear if chooses love over work, there's nothing wrong with it. But yet just for you to feel at ease, I'd ask Aryaman to report from there and will ask a few inside people to aid in shifting things from here to there. You don't worry and never feel guilty for something you truly want" Rishav explained to her calmly and eased her tension. She felt more relaxed when she heard Kaira and Rishav say that Aryaman wouldn't need to choose between her and his position.

"So tomorrow?" He asked confirming that she would be free.

"Yupp. Today is the day for us to sleep like a baby" She yawned slightly telling him that the week had been super hectic for both of them.

"Cool. I'll catchup with you tomorrow" He said and took her hand in his and kissed her hand. They both walked to his car. Aryaman held open the car door for her making her smile. He had made a habit of opening the door for her everytime he was with her. He would do all the small things which she could do herself but yet when he helped her, it made her feel cherished by him.

"Chalo" She said standing by the door.

"Nope" He replied shrugging his shoulders cutely. Maitri placed her elbows on the door frame and looked at him for an explanation.

"Because you are driving today" He opened her right hand and placed the car keys in her hand, not before stealing a kiss from the corner of her lips. Maitri stood in shock at his shamelessness. Her hand flew to the part he kissed, staring deep into his eyes.

"I think the other corner of your lips are feeling bad for my lack of attention" He didn't give her a chance to speak before kissing her other side causing her to flush in shyness.

"Let's go Miss Maitri or do you intend to stare at your fiancé all day long in the parking lot?" He pulled her from the door and pushed her towards the driver's side. Knowing that she was going to fumble badly in front of him after this incident, she kept her gaze low and sat in the car fanning her face to feel the air hit her hot, red, blushing face.

"Show me what you've got baby" He sat back in his car relaxed waiting for her to calm down and capture him in her magic all again.

"You are becoming shameless day by day" She hit his arm playfully in an attempt to avoid meeting his gaze.

"I always was dear, you are just seeing it now" He wrapped his hand around her chin and pulled it towards him.

"This is just the beginning, the day you reveal the shameless monster behind the drapes of modesty, you'll enjoy every moment of it, every touch of it and the monster himself" He said in a deep, dark voice that scared her but equally excited her to know more.

"Drive love" He leaned back and let go of her chin allowing her to drive.

"Are you high on something? You first allow me to drive your car then talk dirty with me. What's the drug you are high on?" She asked him pulling the car out of the parking lot.

"About the car...well, the way you were eyeing it since so many days, I thought its better to give it to you to drive before my car gets into an accident" He shifted in his seat such that he could look at her.

"Good choice Mr. Ranawat" She said smiling, changing the gears smoothly as the car picked on speed within a few seconds.

"I though maybe I could let you ride the car and probably after it you might ride me" As soon as the words left Aryaman's mouth, Maitri's eyes widened in shock and she immediately pulled over the car to the side. Aryaman looked at her with a smirk knowing he hit just the right place.

"I..I..I th...think I mi...might have heard something wrong. Would you please repeat?" She said gulping down her saliva visibly. This just further widened Aryaman's smirk.

"I said after you ride the car, I'd enjoy it more if you'd ride me too" He said looking in her eyes without letting go of any sexual tension building up rapidly between them.

"Let's play titanic, you'll be the iceberg and I'll go down" Maitri opened her mouth to scold him but instead thought to play it cool and replied to him with something worse, smiling widely shaking her head at his and her crude words. She pulled the car back onto the track. They sat in silence until she reached her apartment, and they broke out in laughter. She remained seated beside him until the laughs subsided.

"I had expected you to feel shy or blush but instead this naughty girl jokes blew me apart" He said still laughing though his eyes held respect and warmth for her. She shook her head and stepped out of the car and walked to her apartment without turning behind to look at him when suddenly something clicked in her.

"Maan" She turned around and stopped at his car window. She bent down to be face level with him as he looked at her questioningly.

"Yeah?" He looked at her with full concentration.

I am pleased to know that you trust me fully and it is important for you to know that I trust you too fully. I am yours as much as you are mine...but... it doesn't mean that the first time my fingers enter your sweet heaven should be in a car. You deserve much more than that. "Either you come with me upstairs and satiate me or I look for other options to satiate myself" She walked out of the car and stood with crossed arms, looking at him angrily.
