19. Dr. Nidhi Shah
Ishq Deewangi (Book 2)
"We need to go" He held Maitri's hand and pulled her out of the house. He went downstairs to get the car while she locked the house.
She quickly settled in the car.
"How is Nitya?" She asked worriedly.
"Not good. Raj has found Nidhi's contact so we are going to her hospital to talk to her" He replied giving her the phone to help him with the locations.
"Who is she?" She asked pointing her hand in right direction. Aryaman turned towards right.
"She's our friend from diaper days. Princess of Ujwalgadh. Dad and her mother happened to be friends so we too became friends. After university finished, we couldn't get her contact. We called her, sent her emails and once even went to her home but it was as if she disappeared from the face of the earth" He explained to her his connection with Nidhi to Maitri.
"Should I be worried?" She asked teasingly.
"Ewww noo. Nidhi and I, yuck. She... she was infuriating. Hair in a bob cut, wore only jumpsuits and pants. The one time she dressed like a girl, we bullied her into changing back to what she wore. Ragging and playing sports was more of her thing. It was as if god wanted her to be a boy but then the sperm hit the wrong gene and she was born a girl." He laughed remembering how his friend looked like that last time they saw her.
"So she was a tomboy?" She asked.
"She was more boy than anyone one of us were. She loved talking, you could place her infront of a wall, she'll talk to the wall. She was way too extroverted for her own good. Whenever we got in trouble, we used to push her infront because only she knows how she convinced the proffeseurs into not suspending us." He said looking at Maitri who looked at him exccitedly.
"She sounds like Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" Maitri said with a dreamy expression.
"Anjali loved Rahul who was nothing more than a fuckboy. Anjali changed her whole appearance so she would be accepted. This Anjali we are talking about is badass. She doesn't give a fuck about what anyone thinks about her. She never had a female friend which got her attention of mean girls who called her some really bad stuff but this girl, she'd burn you down to ashes and you won't even know what happened. She is not a bichari type of a girl, she knows how to protect herself" He replied parking into the hospital parking lot.
"I really want to meet her now. I think both of us would be great friends, what say?" She quickly rushed to his side.
"You both will vibe so well that all of us will need to stuff cotton balls in our ears. You'll love her and she'll love you too. But don't forget you belong to me not to her. Nidhi's got a thing with impressing people and I don't you impressed by anyone else who is not me" He said pulling her cheeks which she slapped away.
"Hey look a green monster is behind you and he's saying he's your jealousy, is it true?" She asked with a pout.
"Its called being territorial babes, territorial" He held her hand and walked inside the hospital and asked the receptionist for Nidhi.
"She's assisting in a surgery right now, can you wait?" The receptionist asked.
"Will you please inform her that Raj's daughter Nitya has a hole in her heart?" Aryaman asked politely.
"Does she know these people?" The receptionist looked at the couple confused.
"She does. Please inform her ASAP the young girl's health is detoriating rapidly" His grip on Maitri's hand tightened. She rubbed her thumbpad on his skin calming him down.
"I'll inform her but you're the second person who has asked for her in a span of 30 minutes" The receptionist chuckled and called a nurse and passed on the message and asked her to give it to Nidhi.
"Must be Raj who asked about her" Aryaman thought about it and ignored it.
"Let me guide you to her waiting room" The receptionist behaved well with him knowing that he wasn't a man to create problems with. Aryaman and Maitri walked to her waiting room. The receptionist opened the door to the waiting room and asked them to go.
"Aryu" "Avi" Aryaman and Aviraj stared each other in shock.
"What are you doing here?" Aryaman asked hugging Aviraj tightly who hugged him back equally.
"Dad and mum, Nidhi, Nitya" Aviraj said the whole story in just a few words. Maitri looked at them extremely confused by what he said.
"Okay" Aryaman nodded his head and sat beside him, pulling Maitri beside him.
"You understood that?" She whispered to Aryaman.
"I speak Avi language" He replied in a normal tone gathering Avi's attention.
"Wassup bhabhz?" Aviraj asked seeing Maitri still looking at them confused.
"Hi McSteamy" Maitri bit her tongue for letting the words roll over without a filter. Aryaman and Aviraj laughed at her red cheeks, flaming in embarrassment.
"It happens okay. Since the first time I met you I've know you as McSteamy. Now if my brain says it out loud, how is that my fault?" She asked with a pout that made them laugh even more.
"You guys are so mean" She hit Aryaman asking him to stop laughing. She hid her face behind her hands.
"Waah Aryu, already have a blushing bride. When's the wedding? I'll pick the menu" Aviraj bumped his shoulder to Aryaman's who glared at him.
"Bhabhzz see your to-be is glaring at me. You've got to take my side" Aviraj stood up and sat beside Maitri who looked back and forth between Aryaman and Aviraj arguing like kids.
"Monitor the woman for next 24 hours and ask the nurses to get the baby crib near her. Both the mother and child will heal faster" They stopped upon hearing a stern female voice who entered her cabin without looking anywhere except her tablet.
"Nidhi" Aryaman and Aviraj whispered together and stood up. Maitri, who was extremely out of context, stood up too.
"She doesn't look like our Nidhi" Aviraj looked at Aryaman complainingly.
"I know" Aryaman replied still shocked. Maitri simply kept looking back and forth not having the slightest clue about what was so wrong about the woman who just walked into her cabin.
"She's free now, you can meet her" The nurse said before walking away. Aryaman and Aviraj entered the cabin in a rush.
"Woahh" Aviraj looked at the cabin in amusement.
"How can I help you?" The woman who had her back towards them asked as she picked a few files from the table behind her, sorting out her dinner.
"Nidhi?" Aviraj called her name.
"Dr. Nidhi Shah" She replied sternly and turned around to remain shocked seeing 2 familiar faces after a long time.
"Avi...Aryu" The files she was holding dropped onto the ground. She managed to force a smile on her face and walked towards them. Aryaman opened his arms to hug her like they did in the old days but instead she hugged him from the side, shocking Aryaman with her behaviour.
She stood infront of Aviraj and found herself hypnotised in his eyes. Aviraj on the other hand just kept staring at her. Aryaman smirked slightly seeing their reactions to each other. Maitri pulled onto Aryaman's hoodie.
"They had some history together?" She whisper-asked him, not wanting to break the moment between Aviraj and Nidhi.
"Will tell you later, let me get a picture first" He said smirking widely now as Aviraj and Nidhi stood frozen. Aryaman quickly removed his phone and snapped a picture of them.
"Aryaman...Nitya" Raj blasted into the room, sweating heavily and his eyes teary. Aviraj and Nidhi quickly looked away from each other and focused on the intruder.
"Raj?" Nidhi looked at him confused.
"Nidhi, fuck. Thank god" Raj hugged her tightly which she returned by patting his back and looking at Aryaman for explanation. Raj quickly explained to her the situation and pulled her with him outside.
"Raj... Raj. Wait. Stay by your wife and your child. I'll make the preparations and call you both, fine?" She stopped him and rushed in another direction. The twins and Maitri walked with Raj outside where Yukti was crying hysterically. Maitri rushed to Yukti's side and hugged her.
Nidhi came soon and took Nitya inside a operation theatre as another male doctor convinced the parents that their child would be safe and he would fight till the very end.

Once Emotionally Detached is over, Avi and Nidhi's story will begin. But I need your guys support. I am moving to another country for studies so even in between packing and all I try to write you an update and yet there's so less appreciation. For those who know, this story was never even going to there but upon your requests I started it.
