Chapter 26
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 26 Leave In Tears.
Ignoring him, Corynn hurriedly made her escape, Elliotâs sudden appearance sending a wave of unease washing over her.
What the hell was Elliot doing here? Was he worried that sheâd be mistreated?
She shook her head with a sneer, finding her farâfetched theory laughable.
Because she knew exactly what kind of person Elliot was. After all, she hadnât forgotten the pain he caused her three years ago.
Once she found a quiet spot, Corynn took a moment to gather her bearings and pulled out a vial of eye drops from her bag. With a sorrowful expression and redârimmed eyes, she left the club âin tears.â
As expected, a journalist snapped a photo of her as soon as she ran out, like a predator that had been eagerly anticipating its prey.
Every move she made was being watched- which was exactly what she wanted.
At the door to her house, she ran into Jasonâor rather, it seemed like Jason had been waiting for her.
Seeing her red eyes and tearâstreaked cheeks, Jason frowned in concern. âCorynn, you donât have to face this alone. I can help you...â
Corynn looked up at him with an inscrutable gaze, then suddenly erupted into laughter.
Jason was taken aback, bewildered by her unexpected reaction.
âLooks like even you were fooled!â Corynn teased with a grin, holding out the vial of eye drops for him to see. âI wasnât crying or anything. My eyes are just red because of the eye drops.â
Mouth agape, Jason took the vial from her in a daze. The next moment, he too couldnât help but laugh, too. âLooks like I was worried for nothing.â
âAll eyes are on me now, so I had to pull this stunt to mislead them,â Corynn explained. Opening the door, she gestured at Jason to follow her. âCome on. Letâs talk inside.â
Jason obediently followed her in. He had been closely monitoring the Harper Groupâs situation and knew that things were getting worse by the day.
âSo, howâs your company doing now?â he asked in a seemingly casual fashion.
Corynn turned on the lights in the living room and closed the door before answering. âIâve found the solution to all our problems, but I didnât tell anyone because Iâm worried the Willis family will catch wind of it. Only my family knows about this.â
âThatâs so good to hear.â Hearing this, Jason sighed in relief. âBut if things go south, Iâm going to step in and helpâwhether you like it or not!â

In her eyes, this obstacle was just another great opportunity for growth.
Still smiling, she grabbed a cold drink from the fridge and handed it to Jason, who accepted it gratefully.
âItâs a good chance to prove to everyone that even the Willis family canât stop you,â Jason remarked in awe.
Corynn chuckled. âDamn, you must really believe in me if youâre not even going to ask me what my plan is.â
Now, it was Jasonâs turn to grin. âCorynn, Iâve always believed in you.â
The sincerity in his eyes was comforting, but not overwhelming.
Despite this, Corynn looked away and quickly changed the subject, feeling a bit flustered under his expectant gaze. âThe Willis family thought weâd be done for if they cut off our supply chain, but I ended up buying a company that specializes in securing raw materials. Now that we have a solid supplier, we can meet all our deliverables. The Willis familyâs plan to ruin us will fail.â
Jason nodded approvingly. âSounds like a solid plan.â
Back at the club, Kaden entered the private room, only to find a lone Elliot pouring himself a glass of whiskey, âMr. Andrews, Miss Harper left in tears,â he reported in a low voice.
Elliotâs hand paused midâpour.
After a moment, he responded with a simple, âI see.â
Kaden was baffled. Earlier, Elliot had seemed deeply concerned when he learned that Corynn was soliciting help at the clubâand it was extremely rare for him to display such emotion.
Yet now, upon hearing that Corynn had left upset, he was completely indifferent.
