As the car drove further and further away and almost reached the mountains, Luna was getting somewhat nervous. “Won’t it be somewhat dangerous for us to get on the mountains at this time?”

Alexander shook his head and said, “No, we’re almost there.”

Alexander had his hand around her waist. While there was no answer, her head buried deeper into his caress.

He was not in a rush. He waited until the fireworks had stopped, then stood in the silence under the moonlight for a while, before guiding her down the mountain by holding her hand.

The two of them didn’t say anything, but she didn’t feel that awkward anymore.

While they were on their way back, Luna looked at all the lights from the lamp posts zipping by. She suddenly began to speak, “Although my dad doesn’t care that much, he knew what was going on. Flora and his other two children only had a small amount of wealth despite staying with us for so long.”

Alexander then said, “But he didn’t protect you, and that means he’s still unforgivable.”

He could not tolerate a man who couldn’t even protect his own daughter from being abused and condemned for so many years no matter how he thought about it.

Luna then smiled and said, “True. While he knew all this, he was still quite emotionally distant.”
