Look before you sleep

Your POV:

It was a nice evening. The weather ponies had scheduled a storm due to skipping a small shower a week ago and it was just downright pouring out there. Since I was a water type the rain wouldn't affect me negatively and all my water type moves get stronger when it rains. But I wouldn't be able to know because unfortunately....

"Why can't I go outside!?" I asked in frustration. "Just because you won't get a cold in the rain doesn't mean that I want you getting the books wet." Twilight told me. "I won't go anywhere near the books." I told her. "I'm not taking any chances. The last thing I need is to pay for a replacement book. Especially after repairing the roof." She said. "I told you I'm sorry, and I'm still a little peeved that you called my pay an allowance." I said as she laughed a little.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. I had a book about jokes and I wanted to try it out." She said as I sighed and looked out the window which I then saw Applejack and Rarity outside in the rain. "Why are Applejack and Rarity put in the rain?" I asked as Twilight looked out the window and gasped as she ran to the door calling for them to come in.

I went to get towels for them to dry and once I got back I saw that Rarity was the only one in. "Where's Applejack?" I asked as I gave Rarity a towel and she drys herself off. "Washing her hooves off." She told me as she finishes drying. "Well I'll just wait then." I said as the storm rumbled. "Boy this storm is raging on." I said. "Yes and if you want Rarity, you're welcome to stay if need be. Spike is away in Canterlot on royal business. So it's just me and (y/n) tonight." Twilight said as she then gasps.

"You and Applejack should totally sleep over! We'll have a slumber party! I've always wanted one of those." She said with a grin. "Oh! Uh, goodness. Uh, I do believe I have another engagement scheduled for this evening that completely slipped my mind until just now." Rarity said as she nervously laughs as Twilight levitates a big book in front of us. "Slumber 101: All You've Ever Wanted to Know About Slumber Parties But Were Afraid to Ask." Me and Rarity read.

"My own personal copy. It's a fantastic reference guide. You should see the table of contents. I've been waiting for a chance to use it, and today is the day! This is gonna be so great!" Twilight said with a very happy grin as she levitates the book towards her. "That's seriously the title of that book?" I said in surprise as she nodded yes to me. "And the the first thing it says is makeovers!" "Makeovers! You know maybe I will stay." Rarity said. "Wait, I'm not sure I would want a makeooo-!" I said as I was magically grabbed by Rarity.

A few moments later

"This.... Is.... Embarrassing...." I said as I had makeup mud on me and two cucumber slices were placed where my eyes are making my vision dark. "Now don't be in a sour mood darling. This stuff will refresh and rejuvenate your face and maybe we will have time to properly fix your mane and tail." Rarity said. "This is a natural mane style for a normal Keldeo." I told her. "Oh? And how many Keldeo's have you seen before?" She asked me. "....well.... I will admit that Keldeo was designed to look the same since it is in a game but my point still stands." I told her as I heard Twilight giggled and the front door open.

"What in tarnation... Now wait just a goll-darn minute. Ya make me wash the mud off my hooves, but it's okay for y'all to have mud all over yer faces?" I heard Applejack yelled in surprise as Rarity told her what she told me. "We're giving each other makeovers! Eee-hee! We have to do it, it says so in the book." Twilight said as I then add. "Quick! Get help! I'm being forced to get a makeover!" Which only responded with Rarity and Twilight giggling as I heard Applejack not liking the idea as it soon lead to AJ staying due to lighting that roared loudly.

"Hurray slumber party!" Twilight said happily which I couldn't help but smile. "Aww... I see somepony is enjoying the mud mask." I heard Twilight said teasingly. "No I'm not." I said quietly. "Sure you aren't. I can't wait to do everything on the book! This is gonna be the best slumber party ever!" She yelled in excitement. After a while I heard Twilight saying check on makeovers which probably meant I can take this stuff off.

"Can I take this stuff off?" I asked. "Hehe, yes, you can take it off." Twilight said as I sighed in relief as I took the stuff off. "So what's next?" I asked Twilight as she looks at her book. "Ooh, it says here we have to tell ghost stories. Who wants to go first?" She asks us as I tried to raise my hoof but Applejack was quick to the draw. "Me! I'd like to tell y'all the terrifying tale of the prissy ghost who drove everypony crazy with her unnecessary neatness. Oo-oo! I'm sure y'all are familiar with that one?" "Never heard of it, but I have a much better one. It's the horrifying story of the messy, inconsiderate ghost who irritated everypony within a hundred miles! Oo-oo!" Rarity said.

"Umm.... I don't think that's a story? ....At least... I think so?" I said in confusion as the lights then went out as Twilight started to tell a story. "I've got one! This story is called The Legend of The Headless Horse. It was a dark and stormy night, just like this one. And three ponies were having a slumber party, just like this one..."

One spooky story later

"...and just when the last pony thought she was safe, there, standing right behind her, just inches away was--The Headless Horse!" Twilight yelled behind us as she was dressed to look like she was headless which scared Applejack and Rarity and it in no way scared me. I was not scared at all. "Umm, sugar-cube. You can let go of us now." I heard Applejack say as I saw that I was hugging both Applejack and Rarity. "Uhhh... yes!" I said as I quickly let go. "I was only making you two feel safe!" I told her."

"Sure you were." Rarity said as both her and Applejack smirked. "Uhhh.... Hey Twilight! What's next!?" I quickly asked as I saw her holding the book. "S'mores." She said as we went to making s'mores which me and Twilight were watching Rarity make a s'more. "Then you place one marshmallow on the top of the chocolate and be sure it's centered--that's critical--and then carefully put another perfectly square graham cracker on the top. And done. Ta-da!" She said with a laugh. "Ooo!" Twilight said as I then started to make mine.

"And... done." I said as I presented Twilight my s'more. "Wow.... It certainly.... Uh? It looks great!" She said with a nervous smile as I looked at my s'more which looked like a preschooler would make one. "....Uhh.... I still haven't gotten used to these." I said as I waved my front hooves as I saw Applejack and Rarity seemingly being passive and aggressive to each other about Applejack's burp. "Now the next item of fun we have to do is Truth or Dare." Twilight said which was a couple a minutes of Applejack and Rarity giving each other dares only and me and Twilight haven't gone yet. Some of the dares are starting to be ridiculous.

"I, uh, I think we should check off Truth or Dare and move on." Twilight said. "That's probably a good idea." I said as Twilight brings the book to her. "Let's see what our next fun-fun-fun thing is, shall we? Hm, what does this mean? Pillow fight?" She asked. "Oh, please. I am not at all interested in participating in something so crude." Rarity said as she was then hit by a pillow by Applejack. "Uh oh." I said as the pillows begin flying. "Oh, I get it! Pillow, fight! Fun!" Twilight said as we were then covered by dozen of pillows that I don't even remember being in the library.

Me and Twilight crawled out of the pile of pillows. "Ugh... where did all these pillows come from?" I asked. "No Reason!" Twilight said very quickly and nervously for some reason and her eyes moved right to left very quickly. "Uh... ok?" I said as a pillow hit Twilight in the face and a pillow was in her mouth which she spits it out and I laughed at the sight. "Maybe we should just call it a night and get some sleep?" She said as Applejack and Rarity stopped with the pillow war. "That sounds like a good idea." Applejack said. "Indeed, I think so as well." Rarity added. "Great! Wait? We only have two beds?"

Time skip

"This.... Is.... Awkward." I thought as I was currently in bed with a sleeping Twilight while Applejack and Rarity were using my bed that was.... "What direction do I even say in this position of the bed? Eh. It doesn't matter, the point is I'm not in my regular bed and now I am uncomfortably close to my friend." I thought as I could hear Applejack and Rarity quietly argue with each other. "How are you even asleep?" I thought as I looked at Twilight's sleeping face. "Not gonna talk huh! Well, two can play at this!" I thought as I tried to go to sleep but AJ and Rarity were now being a bit loud and I'm not sure how long I can take- "Enough! It says right here that the number one thing you're supposed to do at a slumber party is have fun, and thanks to you two I can't check that off!"

Twilight yelled which surprised me off the bed. "Ahh!" I yelled as I hit the floor. "I've been tryin' my darndest to get along." "No, it is I who have been trying my best." They both said as I was getting up. "I hope you're happy, both of you. You've ruined my very first slumber party. The makeover, the s'mores, Truth or Dare, the pillow fight... I mean, is there anything else that could possibly go wrong?" Twilight said as I groaned. "Please tell me you didn't say that?" I asked as we heard lighting roar very loudly. "Sorry I asked." She said as was under the covers.

We looked outside to see that the storm had struck a lighting bolt at a tree causing it to break and it was now swinging and it looked like it was gonna fall on the house next door. "Ya see? That's why we needed to take down all those loose branches in town, not spiffy 'em up." Applejack said as she takes out a lasso from her hat. "Do you keep a lasso underneath your hat all the time?" I asked as she opens the window. She then lassoes the tree and was about to pull but Rarity then says. "Wait! Stop! Don't!" "No waitin'! No stoppin'! Doin'! And that, my friends, is what we call gettin' 'er done." AJ said as she pulled and then the tree was now inside.

"Aaahhhh!!!!" All four of us yelled as the tree crashed in and I tried to get up but I felt my back legs were pinned by the tree. "Ugh!!" I yelled as I was trying to move my back legs off the tree but I was pinned where I couldn't move my back legs and I couldn't used my front hooves to push myself off. "A little help!?" I yelled as I saw Twilight looking at her slumber party book, Rarity was trying to clean the stuff that were not the tree and AJ was trying to talk to Rarity. "Applejack! You have to help me!" I yelled as she ran to Rarity as she told me to hold on which I could only sigh in despair as I could only watch Twilight reading her book trying to find something. "Baking... BFFs... Brothers... There's nothing in here about branches."

"Twilight! Please stop reading the book and help me!?" I yelled. "In a minute! I'm looking for something about a tree in a house." She told me. "Then check a different book!?" I yelled "Well, they do have a section about backyard slumber parties. Is that what we're doing right now? Does this count as camping?" She asked me as I looked at her with a glare. "Err.... Right, I'll keep looking." She said as she goes back to reading which I sighed. "At least she's looking...." I thought as I felt the weight of the tree disappear and I saw Applejack moved the log off of me as Rarity turned the branches into mini hedge.... Clip art?

Whatever, I'm just glad that I'm free. "Oh, pretty! Where did these come from? They're not in the book either." Twilight said as she sees that everything is fix which I can only sigh in relief that I'm no longer stuck.

Timeskip

No POV:

After that the four had a proper slumber party which they all had fun as the storm had ended and the sun was up. "Well I better head back to the farm." "I should also head back home. I do need to take care of my dear Opal." Applejacks and Rarity said as the were saying there goodbyes to Twilight and (Y/n). "See you later! And hopefully we can have another slumber party!" Twilight said as the two left. "I should probably go out and check to see if anyone needs help and hopefully get some training done. Unless there's anything you need me to do?" (Y/n) asked her.

"Nope! You may go." She told him/her as he/she left the the library. Twilight then closes the door and smiles as she then activates her magic as all the pillows begin to float and they began to form a makeshift pillow igloo. She then summons a book that was on the top shelf towards her. "Let's see... "Love is in the city." Perfect!" She said as she walks to the pillow igloo and goes inside along with the book and she uses some pillows to close the entrance.

This is adorable. I kinda think this is what the Mane five's first sleepover would be like.
