Chapter 19

Innocent Love english version

Shivika Short Stories

LOVE-this word means nothing on its own, but if you think about it, it has the power to change someone's life. It can add color to a dull existence.

ANIKA-a simple, sweet, yet bold girl who neither tolerates wrong nor blindly follows what's right. She only knows how to love and teach others the same.

SHIVAY-a guy who has no idea what love is or how to enjoy life. His only focus is on studying, nothing else.

Let's see how Shivay learns to love-oops, I mean, let's see if he even understands what it means. Ahh, never mind! Let's just see what happens.

Shivay is a last-year student, a nerd-type who is always buried in books.

On the other hand, Anika doesn't understand books at all. Due to her low grades, her family wants to send her to a hostel. But Anika has never lived away from her family, so she refuses to go. Her mother shares this problem with her friend who suggests that instead of sending her to a hostel, she should stay with them for a few days. His reasoning? His son is the college topper-if Anika stays with him for a while, she might improve. And if not, they'll figure something out later.

Anika's mother agrees, and so does Anika-because, well, this is still better than going to a hostel.

A large mansion.

A boy is studying in his room.

Any guesses who this boy is?

Oh well, let me tell you-it's Shivay!

I know, I know-you probably guessed it already.

So, where were we? Oh yes-Shivay is busy studying when someone enters his room.

Person: Shivay.

Shivay: Dad?

Shivay's Dad (SD): Son, I need to tell you something.

Shivay: Yes, Dad?

SD: Your aunt's daughter is coming to stay with us for a few days, and you need to help her with her studies.

Shivay: But Dad, she has nothing to do with studies! And she'll disturb my own study routine.

SD: But son, I've already promised your aunt. She'll be here tomorrow morning, and you have to help her. Understood?

Shivay: Okay, Dad.

SD: Also, I have a business meeting in London, so I'll be leaving tomorrow evening. You'll have to take care of her.

Shivay: How will I manage alone?

SD: You'll figure it out-I know you will.

Shivay: Okay.

The Next Day

Anika enters the mansion.

Anika: Uncle, I'm here!

SD: Welcome, Anika.

Anika: Uncle, how are you? How's your health?

SD: I'm absolutely fine, as you can see.

Anika: Yes, in fact, you look even younger!

SD: Oh, you little mischief-maker!

Anika: So, where's my teacher?

SD looks at her in confusion.

Anika: I mean... your "Bholu Ram."

SD: Oh, you're talking about Shivay?

Shivay: What are you guys talking about?

Anika sees Shivay, rushes to him, and hugs him.

Shivay's reaction? "What the hell?"

Anika: How are you? By the way, I didn't miss you at all!

She breaks the hug.

Shivay: Stay away from me.

Anika takes a step back.

Anika: I don't have a disease that you'll catch if you come near me. And for the record, I don't even want to be near you. Got it?

Shivay: Then why are you even here? Just leave.

SD: Shivay! Behave! Is this how you talk to a guest?

Shivay: If she's a guest, she should behave like one and not cling to me.

Anika: I just gave you a hug! But fine, from now on, I'll maintain a two feet distance from you.

SD: Anika, go freshen up and eat something.

Anika: Yes, Uncle! I'm starving! And after talking to him, I'm even hungrier.

SD: Go, your room is ready.

Anika: Okay, Uncle.

Anika leaves.

SD: Shivay, you shouldn't talk to her like that. You know she's an emotional person. No matter how cool she acts, if something hurts her, she won't talk to that person again.

Shivay: It's not like I'm dying to talk to her anyway.

SD: Just behave well for one week, okay? After that, I'll be back and help her with her studies myself.

Shivay: Okay, Dad.

SD leaves for London in the evening. Anika, exhausted, falls asleep.

Dinner Time

Shivay waits for Anika, but she doesn't show up.

Shivay: I'll eat. She can eat whenever she wants.

He eats dinner and goes back to studying.

Midnight

Anika wakes up, feeling hungry. She heads to the kitchen to find something to eat.

Anika: Ugh, where do I even look for food in this new house? I'm starving!

Shivay: "What are you doing here at this hour?"

Anika clutches her chest in shock.

Anika: Are you crazy? You scared the life out of me!

Shivay: And what about how you're disturbing people's sleep?

Anika: I'm hungry.

She says in a small voice.

Shivay: Then where were you at dinner?

Anika: I was tired, so I fell asleep.

Shivay: There must be leftovers in the fridge. Heat them up and eat.

Anika looks at him innocently.

Shivay: Don't tell me you don't even know how to heat food.

Anika shakes her head.

Shivay: "Dad, what have you gotten me into?"

Shivay warms up the food for her and then leaves.
