chapter 20

Hate

Martha sneered at Mark, "You're bluffing," but her colleagues quickly corrected her, their faces pale with fear. "No, Martha, it's true. We're live on social media," one of them whispered.

Damien's plan had been to expose Martha's organization for the hypocrites they were. They had built a reputation on pretending to do good, but in reality, they were corrupt and evil. By broadcasting their true nature to the world, Damien had hoped to bring them down.

Martha's face twisted with rage as she pointed a gun at Mark. But even if she killed him, her reputation was already destroyed. The hate comments were pouring in, and her followers were quickly turning against her.

Damien's team had been given orders to take out the seven members of Martha's organization, leaving her alive to face justice. Shadow 2, an expert marksman, had already taken out four of the members, causing the others to panic.

One of them, in a desperate bid to escape, grabbed Liam and used him as a shield. But Shadow 2 was too skilled, and he took out the man without hesitation.

The remaining two members ran for cover, but Martha stood her ground, the gun still pointed at Mark. In a twisted attempt to regain control, she pointed the gun at Liam's belly, her eyes blazing with hatred.

Martha's face twisted with rage and hatred as she revealed the dark secrets of her past. "I killed your father because he didn't love me," she spat, her voice venomous. "And I killed his precious Ger, the one he wanted to marry instead of me."

Mark stood frozen, his eyes wide with shock and horror. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His mother, the woman who had given birth to him, was a monster.

Martha's laughter was like a knife to Mark's heart. "Oh, and do you know why your Ger kept having miscarriages?" she taunted. "I had switched his tablets for morning sickness with my own."

Mark's anger boiled over, and he pointed the gun at his mother. But when he pulled the trigger, there was only a click. The gun was empty.

Martha's eyes lit up with triumph, and she raised her own gun to shoot Mark. But before she could pull the trigger, Shadow 2 shot her in the wrist, making her scream in pain.

Mark's eyes widened in shock as he realized that Damien had given him a blank gun. It was all part of the plan to keep Mark safe and prevent him from doing something he might regret.

As Martha writhed in pain, Mark felt a mix of emotions: anger, sadness, and relief. He knew that his mother was a monster, and that she deserved to face justice. But a part of him still felt a pang of sadness, knowing that the woman who had given birth to him was capable of such evil.

Mark rushed to Liam's side, relief washing over him as he scooped up his lover's unconscious body. He carried Liam outside, where Shadow 1 was waiting to attend to him. Mark's heart was still racing from the confrontation with his mother, but he felt a sense of relief wash over him as he handed Liam over to Shadow 1.

Meanwhile, the two remaining members of Martha's organization, Mr. Wilson and Benson, had encountered Shadow 3. The sadistic operative had removed his mask, revealing a face that was both fascinating and terrifying. His smile was twisted, his eyes seemed dead, and his face was scarred and marked with a red birthmark.

Mr. Wilson and Benson froze, their eyes fixed on Shadow 3's grotesque appearance. They knew they were in grave danger, and Shadow 3's sadistic reputation only added to their terror.

Shadow 3's eyes gleamed with excitement as he imagined the ways he could make Mr. Wilson and Benson suffer. He was known for disobeying orders, and instead of killing them, he decided to abduct them for his own twisted pleasure.

"You two are going to make excellent playthings," Shadow 3 sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "You'll be begging for death, but I'll deny you that pleasure. You'll be mine to play with, and I'll make sure you suffer for a long, long time."
