Chapter 4: Karma bites

Euthanasia: Spare Me Your Mercy volume 2

"Oh honey! Enough, oh, oh, how did you know this?"

The formidable Arsha raised his hands to block the attack from the hands of the nurse who was hitting him. Kong didn't allow himself to be on the receiving end for too long.

When he had the chance, he grabbed both of the other party's hands tightly.

Tum's angry face made him look cuter, but Kong shouldn't leave tne person he loves angry for too long.

"Someone I know saw the incident and told me about it,"

Tum tried to free himself from the police officer's embrace.

"Lieutenant Kong carried out a methamphetamine sting operation and it ended in a shootout that killed a man instantly.

We're lucky the person killed wasn't you.

You told me you wouldn't od risky jobs anymore.

You promised me, right"

Kong clicked to get the other person to calm down and smiled widely so that all of his teeth could be seen.

"Do you want to eat something special today?"

The beautiful round eyes looked at the other's rough far with an unco expression ad said,

"I'm not going to eat."

Tum finnally managed to free himself from the police officer's embrace and walked away to the closet to look at himself in the mirror.

He carefully adjusted his white uniform.

"I'll walk you out and drop you off on your night shift,"

The police officer followed him as stood behind Tum's back.

"I'll come pick you up in the morning too so I can take you to eat fried egg at your favourite place."

The police man hugged the small-figured nurse from behind gently kissed his temple.

"I'm sorry for worrying you. I will take your hit and hoe it to the person who ordered me to do it, who was my superior......?

"You crazy?!"

Tum shook his head because of the other person's unpredictable madness.

"Don't hit your boss."

"I'll tell you it's souvenir from my husband, because the boss sent to do a dangerous job."

"Stop talking, Lieutenant Kong.

I need to go to my shift."

Tum looked at the clock on the wall and it was 11:15p.m.

Walking from the stuff dormitory behind the hospital to the ward where Tum works thakes five to ten minutes.

He had to run to take the shift from the person taking the afternoon shift that would end midnight.

Tum rejected Kong's hug,

"Et honor me."

The young detective hugged his even .

"I won't let you go untill you let me walk you there."

The young nurse rolles his eyes and looked at the ceiling irritably,

"If you want us to go together, we have to leave now."

The two men walked through the building in the dead of night towards the hospital which has bright lights on.

Kong looked at the nurse fondly.

The police officer thanked fate that brought them together as lovers.

Kong felt like he was much happier with his life.

He just realised that having another person to spoil him and who could handle his annoying jokes every day could be very good.

The police officer said goodbye to Tum, who entered through the door of the patient room. Anyone who saw this would envy him. Kong stretched out his chest proudly when he saw the other nurse's gazes hitting him.

When Tum was out of sight, Kong turned around and walked towards the elevator to go out the ground floor. He looked towards the corner of the elevator and raised his eyebrows when he saw that a CCTV that he had never seen before was installed there.

"They never installed CCTV here before."

Kong turned his neck left to right to chase away the stiffness.

"The new hospital director doesn't want another chaos to break out here.

After Dr. Somsak left his position as hospital director, Dr. Umapohn, a pediatrician who had been director of another large provincial hospital, was moved here to take the position. It seemed like he could very well apply his skills to run a large hospital here, a hospital like this that was nationally famous for gruesome murders.

Itwas Dr. Umapohn's duty to fix and restore good reputation. Ahe was very strict with security measures, installing CCTV and lights in dark corner, employing more security guard and improving the medical records system.

It closed all data gap so that verification of past treatment history could be done accurately and clearly.

Kong used his hand to close his yawning mouth as he passed through the empty consultation room to exist the back of the building.

The cold wind blowing through the space between the building made him tighten his jacket around his body.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of the wheels of the patient's stretcher coming from behind. He turned around intuitively, like someone who was naturally observant. What he saw was a cane pushing the stretcher along the path.

Kong knew that this was something you would normally see in a hospital, but what stood out his eyes were the dirt marks on the light gray uniform.

It didn't seem clean like other staff here.

His wavy hair looked messy and disheveled. He was wearing a medical mask that his half his face, and the eyes behind the man's glasses seemed strangely moody.

When he realised he was being watched, the stretcher staff stopped and turned to look at Kong.

The police man in frowned and all his senses became alert in care something unexpected happened.

However, it seemed like he cared too much. That be man didn't seem to be interested in Kong at all. He turned to look at the road and continued pushing the empty stretcher.

So familiar. It was like he had seen those eyes somewhere before.

Kong decided to take big strides and turned towards the corridor connecting the hospital building that the stretcher staff had just passed through.

The next thing he saw that the stretcher was lying deserted in the middle of the road at night with no human being in sight.

The wheather, which was already cold, became even colder. The police man had goosebumps from head to toe

"What the hell was that?"

The police officer was not one to scare easily, but he had to admit that what he amhad just seen was actually very creepy. The stretcher staff could be running an errand somewhere.

Kong rubbed his face before deciding to put his suspicious and walked back in the direction of the government officials' dormitory, his boyfriend's house, to rest and wait to pick him up for in the morning.

"You don't have to work today?"

Tum asked as Long in took a big bite of the fried egg.

At this time, both of them were atthe breakfast place in town that opened early in the morning. This was a very suitable place for people who worked the night shift and who finished their duty hungry.

"I have to work, but I'll have breakfast with you first.

I still have another hour and the police station is very close. I have more than enough time."

Kong put down his cutlery and asked, "Let me ask you, jave you ever seen a tall orderly with unkempt, wavy hair who also wear glasses?"

Tum seemed deep in thought.

"This doesn't sound familiar at all.

None of the people I can remember have wavy hair and wear glasses. But there are a lot of orderlies I don't know.

Why do you ask?"

"Last night, when I was coming back from dropping you off, I ran into such an orderly.

His uniform was dirty and he disappeared ."

The nurse's eyes of widened,

"Did he disappear? Was it a ghost?"

Kong laughed out loud.

"He's human, I'm sure of that. But hw looked strange. I was curious, so I asked you."

"So, you're just being nosy,"

Tum returned to his breakfast.

"You're cute but you have a sharp tongue. However, I'll take it as a compliment.

People need to know that I didn't earn my name 'thousand eyes' by luck, but by my sharp eyes."

Kong tapped his eyes.

"Even if you use a different hand to brush your teeth, I will detect it."

Tum grimaced: "What if I change boyfriend? Will you able to detect that too?"

Kong put his hand on his own chest and made a sad face.

"I pray I never have a detect that, honey."

Tum shook his head and laughed a little.

"I don't have time to look for a new boyfriend.

I'm too busy with just this one."

Yes, Tum's life became exponentially busy because Kong was like someone who came with a chaotic storm, so Tum didn't have enough time left to feel lonely because he's busy having a headache with Kong.

But it's strange because it's happy chaos. At least wh we n Tum felt hungry and tried after his night shift, he no longer had to eat breakfast like before.

Gunn decided to perform on the night when Wasan had night shift.

At midnight, the young doctor was dressed in black, wearing in a black cap and a black mask to cover his face. He put on two rubber gloves and walked toward the alley where Som's house was located. The only light came from a mercurial light in theiddle of the alley.

The darkness and lack of people at night helped his Gunn so that he could easily go to Som's house. His only obstacle was the black dog rhat Som had

Gunn was squatting around and bruh infront of the house. He grabbed the dog food from the plastic bag he had prepared and threw it into the front yard of the house. He decided to wait somewhere far away so that the dog could not detect the scent of any stranger. Gunn hid in the Longan orchard to Som's house for about an hour before returning to check the situation infront of thw target's house again.

The food bag was open and there were remains of food all over the floor, indicating that it had been eaten. Gun entered the house and found a dark shadow on the floor, not far from the food. When he looked carefully with the help of the dim light from the road, he could see that it was the body of the dog that seemed to be asleep or dead. Gunn slowly approached to get a closer look.

Suddenly, the dog's body spasmed and its four legs were stretched out.

Gunn stepped back, but it was only for a moment before he lay still in the foaming puddle of his own saliva and watery feces.

The doctor heart was pounding and guilt flooded his chest, numbing his entire body. He tried to think that it was just a dog, but a dog was also a life. She was a pure soul and he killed her without mercy.

But the plan had to continue. There's another life he had to deal with before he could ruin his own life.

Due to poverty, Som did not have enough money to install wrought iron window in his home, so Gunn was able to easily climb into the dilapidated one-story wooden house.

The doctor looked around suspiciously and took out the needle in his hand.

He walked towards another room that had the door open. What he saw was the body of a man lying on a mattress on the floor.

The blanket covering his body didn't seem to provide much warmth in this cold wheather. Gunn tightened his grip on the needle as his entire body trembled. His heart was full of hesitation.

He knew in his heart that he shouldn't do this.

He was standing in the middle of two roads with completely different directions and he didn't know what the end of each road held for him.

However, when he saw Som starting to move, Gunn decided to attack.

Gunn's big body have him the advantage. He sat on Som's body. Som opened his eyes wide and shouted,

"He....heyy!!!!"

Gun raised his hand ans prepared to administer a strong dose of tranquilizer, but Som was stronger than he thought. The needle was thrown into the distance. The doctor growled in his throat as he struggled with the struggling and screaming person beneath him. He forgot that when Som was crazy in the psychiatric ward, they had to use three nurses to restrain him and stop his madness.

Due to the anxiety that dominated his entire body, Gunn decided to use both hands to press the other person's neck and used all his weight to push him down.

Som struggled violently under the doctor's body. Both hands hit Khan's face and neck.

And at that moment, Som hallucinated. He saw black wings extended from the person who was standing him.

Som opened his mouth to scream, but his vocal cords were pressed by Gunn's hands, the only sound that came out was a  pitiful sound of heavy breathing. His life was probably going to end here.

.The angle of death was taking his life

Tears were streaming down Som's face due to fear. Stopping Khan.

The doctor slowly released his hands and moved his trembling body away from Som's bed. When he was free, the small man rolled onto his side, took atdeep breath, and coughed violently.

Gunn could not do this.

The doctor quickly turned around and ran out of Som's bedroom. His brain was numb and he couldn't feel the cold air outside. His heartbeat was strong and healthy was sweating all over.

Gunn ran out of Som's house and ran toward the alley. It was fortunate that Khan's face was hidden under the black cap and mask at all times. However, the needle and the bag of poisoned dog food were still at the scene.

When he ran to car he parked in another alley, the doctor quickly opened the door to sit down and rest. He quickly took off his cap and mask and rest his forehead on the steering wheel. His body trembled and overflowing emotions burst into uncontrollable tears.

He hugged himself because of the pain he felt. In Khan's head, he always thought of the face of the man he loved the most, but he couldn't tell that person this. The secret that Gunn had been hiding for many months came back to hurt him badly.

And this was his karma for the decision to be a murderer.
