Chapter 56

Hey Sweetheart

Shrithik was frowning. Deeply.

"What happened?"

Sameera asked looking up from her phone.

"I'm hungry!"

He said and looked away.

"You should've told me earlier no? What is the need to frown?"

"You were talking to your brother the whole time."

He said and she chuckled.

"Okay my..........baby boi. Come on now. Let's feed you."

She said and pulled her with him.

Upon reaching the kitchen she showed him everything that was made and he gasped.

"This much food? How much do your family members eat?"

"Shut up. What do you want tell me so I can serve you."

"Aeh......everything?"

He said sticking his tongue out a little.

She laughed and served the food. When the plate was ready she turned around to find him holding his hand and having a real painful look on his face.

She ran towards him and asked

"Hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah. Just my hand is a little sore. Can you feed me?"

He asked and she hit him.

"You worried me, old man!"

She was extremely thankful that her mother and sister were sleeping and her father and brother were out of the house.

She then sighed and started feeding him. She was feeling sweet. Like really sweet.

When he was full, he burped.

"That's enough sweetheart. I'm full."

She nodded and kept the plate in the sink.

"Sameera! We'll go shopping in an hour so be ready. Okay dear?"

Her mother voiced from behind and Sameera nodded a little startled.

"Wait! I have clothes. I don't-"

"Shut up. We are going and that's final."

Her sister declared and Sameera nodded. As she had any choice!

"How's this?"

"Take something else, you idiot. You don't have anything other than these lowers and t-shirts."

Her sister scolded her when she brought a nice tshirt to show them.

"Try this."

Her sister handed an anarkali design kurta and she made a face.

"Nooooo-"

"I'll also buy the same. Then we'll be all matching. Mumma will also buy the same."

Her sister persuaded and Sameera's frown changed into a smile.

"Okay."

She then turned around to find Shrithik. He was already looking at her. She gestured him to come with her and he obliged.

"You stand here. I'll come out. Then tell me if I look good or not. Okay?"

She asked and he nodded. Then Sameera, along with a few Indian dresses went inside the trial room.

Dress after dress got rejected by Shrithik. He was just not able to find any of that dresses to just match her. They were all looking so....dull when she wore them.

Then at last she wore a blue dress. An Anarkali cut kurta. He was waiting for her, picking at a woolen tshirt when she came out.

The t-shirt fell from his hand. That blue was just complimenting her. Her black eyes were reflecting her own image. Her black hair were loosely tied and that frill was just.........mind blowing.

"Is this okay? I really can't change anymore."

"It's lovely. It's looking beautiful."

Her sister replied and Shrithik still stood there, in daze.

Sameera smiled at her sister and urged her to try the same. When she was alone she went towards him and asked

"Is this okay? You are not saying anything. Old man!!"

She whined and he came back to earth.

"Yeah. It's beautiful. You should take it."

Finally Sameera found a dress and she also bought an Indian men's kurta for him. Same colour. He was refusing but she still got a price which matched her dress perfectly.

It was probably 5 in the evening when she was searching for him and he was nowhere to be found. Finally she made her way to the terrace and immediately spotted him. Smoking.

She stood behind him and glared at him. Feeling her draggers he turned around and threw his cigarette immediately.

"S-sweetheart it's-it's not what it looks like. I was-"

"Yeah yeah, you weren't smoking. You were just smelling the rose right?"

She retorted and turned around, ready to leave but he held her waist and hugged her tight.

"Leave me old man. I'm not talking to you for atleast a day. You can be with your cigarette all you want."

She knew she was making a big deal out of it, but it was necessary. Smoking is an addiction which gets you addicted the second time you do it. And she really can't stand people who smoke.

He was not even loosening his grip on her. If they continued to be in that position it will not talk long before they both are swaying rythemically and watching the sunset.

"You are leaving me or not? Look I-"

"I saw my sister today."

He spoke and she stilled. Sister? He..........had a sister?

"Uhh.....you have a sister?"

He nodded and hid his head in the crook of her neck.

"Yes. I had. She was 10 years younger than me. And she was the only person, other than my nanny whome I loved. You know she was so small when I first held her in my hand. But now, she is a 60 year old lady. Her once black and thick curly hair are now white and thin. It's feeling like.......I failed."

He said and she felt him squeeze her.

"Failed?"

"Yeah. I.....my parents never loved any of us. After my disappearance, my mother or my nanny also left. She was kind of heartbroken. My sister was left alone. I did what I could, but I was still unable to provide her with the love and affection she deserved. I'm-"

"Do you know where she lives. Like her house?"

He looked up at her to find her looking at him with the side of her eyes.

"Yeah."

"Okay. Now let's go."

She said, freed herself from his grip and ran down the stairs leaving him standing there.

He followed her to her room to find her fixing her hair a little.

"Are we going somewhere?"

"Of course we are. I want to meet at least someone from my in-laws. It's bad enough that most of them are dead."

She said and then pushed passed him.

"And what are you gonna say to her?"

"I'm going to tell her how you feel. I'm going to give her this letter that you are going to write yourself right now. Take these....and write a letter to your sister."

She turned around and explained him what she wanted and handed him an arguably old looking paper and a fountain pen.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I am. She deserves to know that her brother loved her and did not turn up on her. Now come on."

She pushed him in the chair and went inside the bathroom. Leaving him alone to write his thoughts.

Dear Mamta,

Remember me? Probably not. I'm your brother. The one that left you years ago. You will probably be thinking that why am I suddenly writing you letter when I left you alone by all yourself right? You probably have nothing more than hate for me but I just want to tell you that I love you. It was my compulsion that I had to leave you and go. Not my choice. The situations, were complicated. Your wedding was actually fixed by me. I want you to know that your brother never actually left you alone. I just couldn't come in front of you. Just remember that your brother always loved you. It pained my heart whenever you cried. But I couldn't come to wipe those tears. I know how many times you cried, how many times you laughed and how many times you felt that it would have been better if you were an orphan. It was my fault that you were deprived of the small love and affection you could get from me. I want you to know that I am sorry. That I regret ever getting seperated from you. That I love you.

Your brother

Shrithik.

He completed and a tear fell from his eye. He couldn't face her. He couldn't face the reality that his sister might hate him with the bottom of her heart. He can't. He wasn't that strong. There are only four people in the world whome he loves. One of them is dead. Shrey, his brother, is far away from him. His sister, probably hates him. And the only person he had at the moment was Sameera.

And her hand on his back didn't help him. He turned around and hugged her stomach.

Sameera rubbed his back and combed his hair with her fingers. His body was shaking slightly.

"I can't sweetheart. She will hate me. I can not bear that. I cannot bear that."

"She will not, old man. Don't cry. You are my strong baby boi right?"

She cooed and he laughed a little.

"One time you call me old man and then baby boi?"

She leaned down and kissed his tear filled eyes.

"You are everything."

She whispered and then kissed him gently. Trying to make him forget his pain.

Their lips molded in each other. Gently caressing each other. It was the thing whenever they kissed that they never kissed roughly or aggressively, it was always gentle and love filled and their make out sessions never turned into the rough ones.

When they were seperated, Shrithik kissed her forehead.

"God I love you."

"I love you too."

She whispered and exited the room with him following her.

"Maa! I have to go to a friend's house. Which one should I take?"

Sameera asked her mom, referring to the vehicles. They had four two wheelers at their house.

Two Honda Activa scooters, an old model motorcycle and a new Royal Enfield.

"Everyone's home today. Take anyone you want. And come home before 7 okay?"

"Yeah. Bye!"

Sameera yelled, took the key of the Royal Enfield and started the engine. Shrithik sat begin her and she took off.

"Not all girls know how to drive it. I'm one of a few."

Sameera said as Shrithik glared at some guys who eyed her.

"So it's of amazement, that a girl is driving a bike of 20 bhp?"

"Yeah. Something like that. But I'm not the only girl who drives bike. Many are there. But in this city only two girls drive this thing. One being me and the other one......well, I don't know."

Shrithik chuckled and kept his head on her shoulder.

"I'm scared sweetheart."

Sameera smiled and squeezed his locked hands on her waist.

"Don't worry. If anything happens, I'll be there."

Shrithik tighten his grip on her and buried his face in the crook of her neck.

"Stop driving sweetheart. I want to hug you."

She chuckled as he whined but didn't answer.

After a few minutes she spoke, parking her bike

"And..........we are here."

Shrithik got off and looked at the baby blue walls of the big house, preparing himself.
