Chapter 4: Beach Day.

Rame| ✔︎

When we arrived at the beach- after Sophia promised not to kick my ass and I had to promise to not annoy her for the whole day- we met Noah and Oliver's friend, Blake, he is kind of an asshole really so naturally the bitch in me disagrees with everything he says and I can tell I'm getting on his nerves- Ha! If I can't annoy Sophia I'll find someone else to annoy.

We settled on the sand and took off our clothes only to stay standing in our bathing suits, Sophia and I started persuading Isabella to go in the water with us, ever since we watched that damn shark movie she has this phobia of the ocean, which I get but you gotta face your fears sometime right? What better time than the present?

"Izzy come on babes, you gotta let go of that movie, the special effects weren't even that good," Sophia is trying to coax her, it isn't quite working.

"No, Soph I do not want to be eaten by sharks, not on the itinerary." Oh yeah while Sophia and I were arguing this morning she made an itinerary for the little beach town I live in. I love her.

"But Izzy you have to face your fear babe, are you planning on never going in the ocean ever again? What about our plan to scuba dive on your nineteenth birthday? Remember you wanted to see the little fishies," no better way to persuade Isabella than to remind her of 'little fishies' as she likes to call them, she has a small obsession towards them.

"But what if there is a shark?" Isabella asks.

"Then we'll fight him off for you, now will you please get that cute little toosh of yours in that ocean?" Sophia says while pointing at said ocean, she has a little obsession towards our back side today and if I could I would've totally teased her about it.

"Kayden, Kayden, Kayden" my brother came running towards me from where his and his friends were previously standing at, said ocean we successfully managed to coax Isabella to get into. "I found the greatest thing in the whole world come look," my brother exclaimed while grabbing my hand and tugging me to walk/run to the shore.

"Look! This is the biggest jellyfish I've ever seen!" My brother beamed at me.

"You know one hundred and fifty million of people are stung by jellyfish each year, and some even died because of it," when a fact about something reaches my head I can't stop myself from blurting it out, " And please don't tell Izzy that I said that, we just managed to convince her to go into the ocean." Seriously I got to control that blurting things thing, if Isabella would've heard me she would've not entered the ocean for at least an other five years.

"Okie dokie," my brother is so cute sometimes it amazes me. He strutted over to Sophia and Isabella. Hopefully he doesn't blurt it out.

"Wait why do you even know that, that's so weird," Blake snickered.

"Fuck off dickface," I hate being smart sometimes, and somehow the only intelligible thing that could exit my mouth at the moment is that lame sentence, I wouldn't booed myself if I were a bystander.

"Blake?" Oliver probed.

Blake hummed in response.

"Shut up, I found that very interesting. Kay, do you want to stand here all day or do you want to go into the ocean?" Oliver said while holding his hand out to me, now who am I to deny holding his hand? So I took it and he started dragging me towards the ocean.

When the water reached my waist- and barely reaching Oliver's hips- we stopped walking.

"Hey Kay?" Oliver asked.

"Yeah?" I asked back.

"How was it in the academy? I only know the basic story you've told your family but I could tell there is more, you don't have to tell me if you don't feel comfortable," he looked down at me, only now I noticed how close we are.

"No it's fine I don't mind, just promise this doesn't reach Noah or my mom, they are kinda softies," I said and to which he nodded, I took that as my cue to continue with the story, "when I first got there I was quiet and shy and basically afraid of my own shadow, people noticed that so they used me as their punching bag but this one girl, Jade, she took it to a whole new level, she would push me down the stairs, make fun of me when she knew I couldn't protect myself she even went as far as cutting my hair," that was horrible, I had to cut my hair even shorter to even it out and that was definitely not a flattering look for me.

"But one day she took it way too far," I took a deep breath, "I was walking in the cafeteria with my tray and she just showed up in front of me, knocked my tray down and proceeded to tell the whole school that I slept with her ex-boyfriend while they were together, I didn't and that was a complete lie, but everyone bought it and I was labeled as a slut for a couple of months and I just couldn't take it anymore, so I switched and started standing up for myself, and then I jumped to junior year and no one really bothered me anymore." Freshman year was a really hard one.

What Oliver done next completely surprised me, he pulled me into a hug.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you Kay," he whispered into my hair and placed his chin on my head. I hope he can't feel my heart, cause I feel like it's going to explode.

"It's ok, what's in the past is in the past, no point in dwelling on it." I murmured, I think that if he wasn't this close to me he wouldn't have heard it.

"Don't do that Kayden, just because it was in the past doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, I'm still sorry it happened to you." He expressed.

"Thank you Oliver." I thanked him, and I mean it, I sometimes forget that I am human and things can still hurt, even if they happened a long time ago.

His hold loosened when we heard our friends come into the water, but he was still holding me in a loose side hug with his arm draped over my shoulders.

"Kay," I heard Sophia call, I looked over to her and saw Isabella walking next to her, in the water, "She is actually in the water!" I got excited not going to lie.

I walked over to them, well walked is an understatement I basically stumbled over to them, and unintentionally broke the hold Oliver had on me completely, stupid excitement.

"Kayden if there are sharks in here I am dumping both of you on it and running out of here, do you hear me?" Such a drama queen.

"We already told you that we would fight it if it came to it right?" I recited.

"There aren't sharks in this area, it's too shallow for them," my brother said, "But there are jell-" I threw my hand over his mouth and gave him the darkest glare I could muster.

"Did you put sunscreen on?" I asked him while throwing my other arm over his shoulders, "No? Let's fix that. We'll be right back." I dragged his tall form with me to where all of our things are on the sand.

"Ow! What was that for?" Noah asked when I hit him a couple of times after releasing my hold on him.

"That was for almost making Izzy never enter an ocean again after I told you not to blurt that out." I'm really trying to be angry here, but my brother is like a puppy, you can't stay mad at him for long.

"I'm sorry Kay, I didn't mean to."

Am I about to give in to him? Yup.

"It's fine Noah, just don't do it again."

"Hey, where is the sunscreen I actually need it," Oliver said from behind me, he probably came after us and I didn't notice.

"Umm I have a bottle in my bag you can take it." I said while walking away towards my friends and Blake.

"No I'm not looking through your bag that's not nice." Oliver enunciated while grabbing my hand and tugging me towards him. He just tugged a bit too hard- not enough to hurt or anything- and I crashed into him. For the second time today, new record Kayden.

"Umm okay I'll get it for you," I said while grabbing my bag with one hand because he still didn't let go of it, "I kinda need my hand Oly." I uttered.

"Oh yeah sorry didn't notice." He said while letting go of my hand, I opened my bag and fished the sunscreen out of it, I handed him the bottle and started walking away again.

"You can drop it in my bag, after you finish with it." I said.

"Thank you smalls."

"Your welcome Oly."
