Chapter 16: Girls Day.
Rame| ✔︎
We have not touched the itinerary once.
Safe to say that Isabella is quite upset about it, and she is the sweetest soul, so she doesn't really say anything, but you can feel she's upset.
This makes me feel so guilty, cause the girl is a walking and talking ball of sunshine and I've barely spent time with her.
Come to think of it, I haven't spent time with Sophia or Isabella as much, it's all Oliver now, but I don't want to just dump my friends because the guy I've been obsessed with is showing me attention.
Wow, that came out wrong.
What I initially meant to say is that I need to spend time with my friends.
Wait, I haven't spent time with my parents either.
One thing at a time Kayden, one thing at a time.
I grabbed Izzy's itinerary and skimmed through it, looking for something to do that is girls only.
And I found it, get our nails done and then we'll have a girls date, that sounds fun, right?
"Isabella Marie," I call, ew I just called her by her full name, "where are you?" I ask.
"Your room." I hear her from upstairs, I go up and find her on my bed with one of my books.
"Hey," I sat next to her and she put the book down, smiling at me, "I'm really sorry." I say.
"What for?" She frowned.
"Well, I know you planned a whole itinerary and we didn't do anything on the list, it's not fair to you." I shuffled closer to her.
"Oh, Kayden no," her smile is back on her face, "I made it just to make sure that we spend time together, because of college in the fall and all, but I don't mind not following the list." She's lying, she scratched her thumb, she always scratches her thumb when shes lying.
I'm not going to mention it though.
"Okay, but I still planned a girls day for us and Soph, and yes I took the ideas from your list." I smiled.
"Sophia Jane McAdams," I call, "Get your booty cheeks up here."
( a/n: Did I just quote Lilah? Yes, yes I did).
"Shit, what did I do?" She came running and panting through the door, and I'm dramatic, pfft.
"Calm down dude, sit." I patted the space next to me.
"What?" She complied.
"We're having a girls day," I stated.
"Really?" She looks completely ecstatic, "I've wanted to do that since we got here." She exclaimed.
"Yeah, well it's happening." Isabella sat up, crossing her legs beneath her.
"What are we doing?" Sophia asked.
I explained the whole day to them and we got ready.

"This is so exciting!" Isabella added a little skip to her step while walking over to the nail salon, we called half an hour ago and they had some spots open.
"What color are you going to do Izz?" I ask.
"I don't know yet, I kinda want to do a pink color though." She is such a pink girl, it suits her so much.
Izzy ended up getting pink gel nails with little flowers on them while Sophia and I got acrylics and with darker colors, mine dark red and Soph's dark green.
"Your nails are so cute Bella," Sophia took Isabella's hands and examined them.
"So are yours and Kay's," Isabella is the best person alive.
"So, what now?" Sophia asked.
"We have a girls date remember?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, where are we going?" She asked then rested her elbow on my shoulder like I'm a damn arm rest.
I shook her elbow off.
"We can go to Ruby's, it's a cute little diner like five minutes away from here." They nodded.
Ruby's used to be my favorite place as a kid, it's run by a cute old man named Jim.
When we arrived there, the belle ringed and the girl at the counter looked up to see us, she looks tired.
"Hello there, welcome to Ruby's, are you sitting down or getting a to go?" She asked with a smile, although I think it's fake, when we reached her, on her tag was her name, Layla.
"Um, we'll be sitting down." I explained and smiled softly at her.
"Alright, you can go sit at any available table and I'll be right there with your menus," she turned around and grabbed them.
I ushered Sophia and Isabella to sit at the nearest table, and Layla appeared with our menus.
"Here you go, tell me when you want to order." She placed the menus on the table and went back to the counter.
I have a feeling that something is off with her, not that she is acting off, she just seems sad.
"What do you want to order Kay?" Isabella asked from in front of me, bringing me back from my daydream.
"Uh, a burger and fries, coke too," I answer, looking at her.
"Okay well we'll have the same," Sophia said after confirming with Izzy.
Layla came over after we called for her and she took our order, smiling, it's fake again.
I really hope she's okay.
We got our food and started eating, not before thanking Layla.
"So.. Kayden, how was your date with Oliver?" Sophia made a baby voice and I smacked her head, she glared at me.
"Come on." Isabella eagerly encouraged me.
"Hey, you've been dating Blake for a while too," I mentioned.
"You spill first," she blushed a little, cutie.
"Fine, he took me to this really beautiful field and at first I thought he was going to murder me but the-" I started.
"Of course you thought that," Sophia exasperatedly interrupted.
"Shh, let her finish," Isabella exclaimed.
"As I was saying, he took me to this field and he done up a whole picnic for me, and we talked a lot, I asked stupid questions, he answered, but it was really cute." A smile grows on my face just from thinking about it.
"Awww, that's cute," Isabella cooed.
"Well, did he murder you?" Sophia asked.
"You know, for a person who was in a gifted school, you sure aren't gifted," I jabbed at her.
"Hey, I'm smart, I was just sarcastic, it's just a higher form of intelligence, I don't expect you to understand." She goofily smiled.
Bemused, I turn to Isabella, "Spill."
"Okay, Blake took me on a couple of dates and is really nice to me, which is weird because he's super rude to Kayden-"
"Aww it's a 'I hate everyone but her' trope," Sophia gushed.
"Aww," I cooed as well.
"And he wants me to be his girlfriend." Isabella continued, making my jaw drop.
"His what?" Sophia sputtered.
"Girlfriend," Isabella sheepishly admitted again.
"Kayden, we need to pull the threats." Sophia turned to me.
"Oh, I already done that," I remember now that he said that it's serious to him, I guess I am a drama queen.
"What? When?" Sophia asked, genuinely offended I didn't bring her in on the adventure.
"The lake trip, we talked a little, I don't want to kill him as much as I used to, but he's slightly more tolerable." I explained.
"Really?" Isabella perked up.
I nodded.
"Oh, that's great, now I can be with him without feeling guilty," a huge smile took over her face.
"Why would you feel guilty?" I ask a confused look on my face.
"Because I wouldn't want to date anyone who my best friend hates," she explains like it's the most understandable thing in the world.
"Listen, Izz," I moved to sit right next to her, squeezing Sophia against the window, "Don't ever, ever, put something else in front of your happiness, even if I can't stand the guy, that should not stop you from being with him, you hear me?" She nodded.
"If your happy, I'm happy, remember that, and that goes for you too Soph," I looked over at her.
"What do you mean?" She asked, faking innocence.
"I know you like Noah, but you aren't making a move because you don't want to hurt me, you can be with the goddamn president for all I care, but if your happy, I'm happy, oh and hurt him and I hurt you, same goes to him." I finished my little speech and both of them nodded.
I pulled both of them to an awkward bone crushing hug, I love these girls.
We finished eating and I went over to the counter to pay, Layla, the girl at the counter had a distant and sad look in her eyes.
"Hey, Layla," she looked over at me, smiling but the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
She nodded.
I payed for our meal and gave her a tip.
But the feeling that something is wrong with her is gnawing at my mind.
I took a napkin and a pen that was left on the counter and wrote my name and number.
"Look, I know this is so out of line, but you don't look the best and I want to help, this is my phone number," I handed her the napkin, "If you need anything, call me, it's sometimes easier to talk to a stranger." I offered her a small smile, Layla looked absolutely shocked.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"It's nothing, please call me if you ever need to talk to anyone." I smiled and grabbed my friends, leaving the diner, not before giving a little wave to Layla.

Hey, hi, hello.
How are you?
Did I just do a cameo for my (probably) next book? Yes, yes I did.
I'm writing like six stories at once and I love that I made this little connection between these two.
Layla is a very special character in my other book and I can't wait for other people to read about her.
Anyhow, thank you for reading, muah, and could you also please vote, pretty please?

K, love you, bye <3.
