Chapter 1230
Arielle Moore and Vinson Nightshire
Chapter 1230 Refused To Enter Arielle turned her attention to Cornelius when she noticed an expression change on his face.
Cornelius continued saying with mixed reactions, âWhen Queenie got discharged from the hospital, she begged my Dad to allow her to run for the patriarch position, andâ¦my dad agreed.â
Cornelius knew Arielle was on bad terms with Queenie, as he had often heard how Queenie had cursed Arielle in the past.
The fact that Queenie wanted to contest for the familyâs patriarch position meant that these two women would be competing against each other.
Arielle was not triggered by the news. She responded calmly, âGot it. Thanks for telling me.â
Cornelius looked at her and tried to defuse the tension. âQueenieâs temper had improved ever since she came back from the hospital. I donât think sheâll give you a hard time tomorrow, but if she did, tell me. My dad and I will not turn a blind eye to it just because sheâs a family. Weâll treat every contender equally, so donât worry.â
âThanks for the assurance,â Arielle said.
Corneliusâ car had finally arrived at the Nightshire residence.
âAll right.â Cornelius stopped his car. âTake a good rest. Iâll send someone to pick you up tomorrow.â
âOkay. Thanks for sending me home tonight.â Arielle got down from the car.
After dropping Arielle off, Cornelius left the Nightshire residence.
Arielle stood in front of the door for a few minutes as if something was holding her back from entering the house.
The security guard on duty could not help but ask, âWhy donât you go in, Mrs. Nightshire? Is there something else you need to do?â
Arielleâs expression stiffened, and she replied, âYeah, thereâs still something I need to do.â
For some reason, she didnât have the courage to step into the house.
Perhaps she was afraid she might see the escort lying in Vinsonâs arms.
Should I return to Maple Mansion instead?
When she was about to turn around and leave, a car stopped right in front of her.
âSannie?â Susanne got down from the car and greeted Arielle with a grin.
Susanneâs body reeked of alcohol. It was obvious that she had just returned from a party.
Arielle could not help but knit her brows.
Why do I have to bump into her when Iâm about to leave?
Susanne had been observing Arielle from afar when her car arrived on the driveway.
She could tell something was amiss and was worried about Arielle.
âWhy are you standing here in the middle of the night?â Susanne went up and held Arielleâs arm.
âMomâ¦â Arielle forced a smile and asked, âDid you just come back from a party?â
Susanne nodded and sighed. âVinson doesnât like to attend social events, but as businesspeople, networking is important. So I have no choice but to do it for him.â
After realizing she got distracted by Arielleâs question, Susanne turned to her and asked again, âYou havenât answered my question. Why are you standing here?â
âIâ¦â Arielle stammered. âThereâs something I need to do. I got to go now.â
Susanne looked into her eyes and paused for a moment. âDid you have a fight with Vinson?â
Arielle froze right away. She didnât expect Susanne to see through her.
