C H A P T E R 7

Lily's POV

It had been a long week, I had a ton of photoshoots. My mum and I had gone and visited the Hart Children's Home and spent the day with them. Today was Ben's football game which was against Damien's team which meant he would be there and Emily probably would too since they are now dating officially. Nicole and Jane had sent me the article of Damien confirming it then forced me to read it.

I was going to the gym with Jane then Nicole would join us for brunch when we were done. Those were my plans then the football game in the night. Jane and I used the same trainer, Joe at our gym so most of the tine we went together.

I picked up my gym bag and walked out the door to my car. I got into my car and connected my phone to the bluetooth in my car. Whilst I'm driving my phone started ringing and I answered and said, 'Hey?'

Adonis greeted and said ,'Morning Rose, how are you?'

I grinned and said ,'Good morning handsome, I'm good how did you sleep?'

I heard him sigh and he said ,'Well I hardly slept.'

I sighed and said ,'Gosh Adonis,  you promised you'd be more careful with your sleep schedule.'

He said ,'I know but I need to work.'

I rolled my eyes and said ,'Well if you aren't rested then maybe you won't make sound decisions.'

He was silent and I said, 'Promise you'll take better care of yourself.'

He sighes and said ,'I'll try baby. What are you doing today?'

I pretended like I didn't notice that he said baby as if my heart hadn't skipped a beat when he said it. I answered and said ,'I'm going to the gym with Jane then I have brunch then I'm free.'

He hummed and there was a pause then I said, 'Can I come and spend the day at your office, I have nothing to do.'

He laughed and said ,'You're going to come and sit with me in the office, you'll be bored.'

I groaned and said ,'I promise I won't bother you, just let me come.'

He said ,'You're always welcome to my office Rose.'

I hummed and said ,'I'm at the gym now so talk to you later.'

He replied saying ,'Okay got it, and I'll see you later today. Bye love.'

I whispered a bye and he ended the call. There my heart goes with the heart palpitations. I looked outside the windows snd there was papparazzi outside, I put on my sunglasses and took my gym bag and walked to the gym looking down. As I made my way past the papparazzi I could hear their questions that ranged from 'Who is the new man?' , 'Are you the girl Adonis is holding hands with on his instagram?', 'Did you cheat on Damien?'. The last one kind of annoyed me because I knew how Emily had been making comments to the papparazzi that made it seem like I'm the one who cheated on Damien. I hadn't said anything to the media so it was easy for them to make it seem like I was the villain and very slowly it's starting to annoy me.

I made it into the gym and saw Joe and Jane and walked towards them. Joe owns a load of gyms all over the country and is a very down to earth guy, he trains celebrities and has a passion for anything and everything fitness.

I got to them amd said ,'Hey guys.'

Joe hugged me and said ,'Well hello there.'

I smiled and turned to Jane who was frowning and at me. I rolled my eyes at her and said ,'Oh no what happened?'

She answered and said ,'I listened to your advice and I embarassed myself, I mean he had a girl over and everything.'

I gasp and say ,'And you couldn't tell me the whole week.'

I close my eyes and say ,'I am going to kill Ben, I don't know how I'll justify it but I just will.'

I heard Joe and Jane laughing at me and I turned to them with a questioning look and Joe said ,'She's messing with you Lily.'

I rolled my eyes and said ,'Let's just get started.'

Jane couldn't even stop laughing. I was sulking the whole workout and Joe and Jane were just making fun of me. We finished the workout and we went to our houses to freshen up for brunch.

I was parking my car at the restaurant just as Nicole was parking. She saw me and waved and I walked towards her and we walked into the restaurant together. We asked for a table and a young waiter took us to a table but looked like he was going to faint whilst doing that. We sat down and he stuttered saying ,'Do you want to order or are you waiting for your third party?'

Nicole looked at him with concern and said ,'Sweetheart are you okay?'

He nodded and said ,'I'm just nervous because you're Nicole Baines and Lily Hart.'

She chuckled and said ,'I promise we won't bite.' He nodded and we saw Jane coming towards us.

I looked at him and said ,'I think we are ordering now our third party just got here.'

Jane took a seat and we all ordered mimosas, it was brunch after all.

When the waiter walked away Nicole said ,'That poor waiter he looks terrified are we like known to be mean or something?'

I frowned and said ,'Yeah he's so sweet though.'

Jane then said ,'I think he'd be a good model, I mean for teenage line that's coming out soon. Do you think I should ask him?'

Nicole and I nodded and said ,'I mean he might be interested so why not.'

Jane nodded and said ,'Yeah I'll invite him to the audition.'

Jane and I both looked at Nicole and I said ,'So Connor, what's up with that?'

Nicole's face dropped and well that's not an encouraging sign. She sighed and said ,'We haven't spoken in a while and I don't know what to do. Connor is the closed up type so I can't really ever tell what he is thinking so I don't know. He probably got bored I mean we hung out a lot and he was starting to show his emotions and now it's been like a week and he hasn't replied to my message so.'

Jane and I held one hand each. Nicole hadn't really liked anyone since her last boyfriend Jaden. That was like two years ago they had been so in love and then things started going downhill, they were fighting a lot and it often led to Jaden saying things that I don't think he meant to Nicole. It started affecting how Nicole felt about herself and she ended it, it was toxic, she loved him so much that she believed everything he said. Nicole and Jaden had been dating since they were fifteen but I only met Nicole when we were seventeen, five years ago.

I looked at Nicole and said ,'Look just give him some time, I mean you're the one who said he's closed off right. Let him open up because some people don't trust easy. I spent that whole day with you guys and he hardly spoke to me the whole day so I think maybe he's a shy guy and personally I think shy is your type.'

Nicole nodded and said ,'Yeah you're right. I'll try, I love you guys so much, you help me reason either crazily in Jane's case or sanely in Lily's case.'

Jane rolled her eyes and said ,'Look guys sometimes you need to be that crazy bitch, you can't always be calm about stuff.'

We laughed at her but she looked absolutely serious about what she was saying.

'Now for you missy.' I said looking at Jane with narrowed eyes. She clapped excitedly and our mimosas were served and when the waiter left she started.

She grinned and said ,'So I took you guys advice from that day.'

Nicole gasped and said ,'In complete honesty that was not a fullproof plan but seems like it worked.' We all chuckled at what Nicole said then Nicole and I looked at Jane urging her to go on.

She shook her head and said ,'Oh yeah right.  I put on lingerie with an oversized tshirt and stilettos and I head to his penthouse. I get there and he kind of opened the door and I pushed him inside and walked because you know the man we could have had the whole conversation by the door.'

That was so true Ben is something else to be honest.

Jane continued and said ,'I went and sat on his couch with one leg over the other and he came and sat on the other side of the living room and he looked scared because normally I shout and we have a shouting match or whatever. '

Nicole whispered under her breathe and said ,'Yeah because both of you are weird.'

Jane gave Nicole a look that said really and continued ,'I sat there calmly and I was like why the silent treatment. I have to say guys I felt like a bad bitch because I was so emotionless and all. He started explaining how he was shy to come apologise because he had been a prick and everything and I sat there and listened. I told him and I said look John coming want courtesy of me so treating me like it was made me really upset and then I apologised.'

I started choking on my mimosa because Jane doesn't apologise directly.  Once I was calm I asked her slowly and said ,'You apologised, like you?'

She rolled her eyes and said ,'Yes me, don't act like I dont apologise.'

I looked at her incredulously and said ,'Do you believe you apologise to people?'

She nodded and profusely and I gave a look and said ,'Do you really believe it ?'

Jane was about to answer and Nicole cut us off and said ,'The story Jane.'

Jane continued the story and said ,'Anyways he looked shocked and I got up to leave amd guys he came from behind and wrapped his arms around and he was like I meant what I said to John you're my girl.

Nicole and I awed and Jane's cheeks heated up. The waiter brought our food and Nicole said ,'Can I have a Ben.' I nodded profusely in agreement.

Jane chuckled and continued with the story and said,' Well we made out and we have a date tomorrow evening at his place. '

Nicole smiled and excitedly said ,'Oh my gosh things are on track baby. Did he see your lingerie when you were making out.'

Jane covered her face and said, 'Yeah he did, I was so embarassed guys because his hand went inside the tshirt and you know touchy feely and he stopped and lifted my shirt and he saw. He started making fun of me and asking what my plan was and all that and the rest is history.'

Nicole and I were eating and paying so much attention to Jane that you'd think we are plotting something.

The rest of brunch went normal we were being best friends laughing and talking. We were just about done when Nicole said ,'So Emily has been up to something.'

I knew what she was talking about. I nodded at Nicole and Jane said ,'What did she do or is she doing?'

Nicole looked at me and I motioned for her to answer ,'Well she's been kind of implying to the media that Lily cheated and thats why Damien and her broke up when the media asks her what happened .'

Jane gasps and she dramatically says ,'No.'

I roll my eyes at Jane and said ,'I better not see her her tonight because now it's just annoying.'

They both looked at me worried, they know I can be a bitch when I want to. I ordered food for Adonis and we paid the bill and said our goodbyes and I drove towards Adonis's office. I parked my car in the parking lot and made my way towards the building.

I went to the receptionist in the lobby and she smiled and said ,'Good morning ma'am, how may I help you?'

I smiled and said ,'Uhm hello I'm here to see Adonis.'

She smiled and said ,'Do you have an appointment?'

I looked around and said ,'Uhm no he's expecting me.'

She looked at me for a long second and said ,'I'm sorry but we get a lot of women trying to sneak up to Sir's office.'

I took of my sunglasses and then she recognised me and her eyes widened. She smiled and said ,'Oh my gosh you're Lily Hart. I'm a huge fan I follow you on Instagram and everything.'

I smiled and said ,'Thank you that means so much.'

I always loved meeting fans it gave me a sense of I'm doing my job right.

She smiled and said ,'He's on the fiftieth floor.'

I smiled and waved at her and walked towards the elevator. I pressed the fiftieth floor and I was nervous. I had told him I was coming I just hope he remembered. I stepped put of the elevator and saw another receptionist. I walked towards her but she was different to the first one. She looked at me like I was worthless and I hadn't said anything yet. I ignored it and said ,'Uhm I'm here to see Adonis.'

She almost sneered at me when I said Adonis and she said ,'Do you have an appointment?'

I looked at her and said ,'No but he's expecting me.'

She gave me a fake smile and said ,'If you don't have an appointment you can't see him.'

She was wearing a very tight black dress that had her boobs almost popping out. She had blonde hair, a lot of make up on and a very bold red lip, she was the basic bitchy assistant people encountered, she was a walking cliche really. Her hair was gorgeous, her golden locks they were so shiny and bouncy and if she had been kind I probably would have asked her if she does that alone. I could only get that look when a hairstylist did it for me.

I decided I wasn't going to argue with her so I pulled out my phone and called Adonis. After two rings he answered and he said ,'Hey, you still coming?'

I replied and said ,'Yeah I'm coming I'm actually on your floor but since I don't have an appointment I can't come in. I don't think you want me to argue with your receptionist we don't like each other it wouldn't be pretty.'

He chuckled and said ,'Do you want me to come get you?'

I smiled and said ,'Yes please.'

He cut the call after he said ,'Okay.'

After a few seconds I heard a door bang and I heard someone coming down the stairs and Adonis soon came into view and said ,'What's going on?'

The receptionist stood up and in a way huskier voice than I had heard said ,'Sorry sir, I'm asking her to leave.'

I rolled my eyes at her and Adonis came up to me and I gave him a small peck and he smiled. He looked into my hand and saw the bag from the restaurant and said ,'Is that for me?'

I nodded and he gave me another peck. He turned to the receptionist and said ,'Whenever she's here let her in. Tell Norman to come to my office and I don't want disturbances.'

He looked really hot when he was doing the whole boss thing. He held my hand and led me to his office which you had to go up some stairs then at the end of the stairs there were dark pine double doors and as soon as you walked in to the left there was an area with a coffee table and two couches. To the right there was a door that I'm assuming led to a bathroom and then in straight ahead there were stairs to a platform where there was a dark pine desk with a iMac on it and there were papers and pens. There was an office chair on the side where the view of Los Angeles was and then there was two black single sofas on the other side of the table. The office has a dark theme and I kind of like it.

I turned to him and said ,'Nice office.'

I walked to his office chair and sat on it with one of my legs over the other and he said ,'Thanks.'

I smiled at him and he started walking towards me. I crossed my arms over my chest and narrowed my eyes at him but he kept walking. He got in front of me and leaned onto the armrests of the office chair and our noseswere almost touching. My breathe hitched and he smiled and said ,'That's my seat.'

I leaned forward and our noses were now touching and I said ,'Come on baby, you're really going to make your future wife get up from this incredibly comfortable chair.'

I looked at his throat and he took a gulp, and all I saw was his adams apple bop up then down. I ran my finger up and down the middle of this neck and his gulps got bigger.

He looked into my eyes and said ,'Don't start things you can't finish Rose.'

I teasingly smiled before replying and then said ,'Come on Donny, you know I don't start things I can't finish.'

I had no idea what was going to happen next and my heart was pounding. Someone knocked on his door and he sighed in annoyance but I was sighing in relief, I don't know what possessed me to play with him.

He shouted ,'Come in.'

His receptionist walked in and I had to hide my smile at the look on her face when she saw the position we were in. I leaned back into the office chair as she was stuttering and said ,'Sir there is a problem in the Accounting Department.'

He looked at her harshly and said ,'Didn't I say not to disturb me.'

She nodded and she was about to walk out but I said, 'Wait go, you can eat after.'

My eyes widened when I realised what it sounded like I quickly interjected before anyone could say anything and I said ,'Eat the lunch I mean.'

He chuckled and said ,'Okay I'll be back to eat the lunch and I would really like to eat the other thing too.'

I rolled my eyes at him and pushed him away. He walked out while chuckling and soon as he left I got up from the chair I didn't want to still be sitting there when he came back.

I sat at the sitting area and I started looking through my calendar to see if I had any modelling for the next week. I saw that in exactly a week I had an interview on a daily show and then after that I had a lot of campaigns I was lined up for. As I'm groaning my phone rings and it's Kendall my older brother.

I answer and say, 'Hey big brother.'

He says ,'Don't hey me, we haven't spoken properly in weeks. You're coming over for dinner next week with your boyfriend.'

I laughed amd said ,'Of course I'll come I miss my nephew but I don't know if he can come.'

Kendall said ,'Oh he better come or else I don't approve.'

I rolled my eyes and said ,'That's terribly dramatic Ken.'

I heard the door to Adonis's office open and I turned to see who it was. I turned and saw that it was Adonis and I turned back to facing the bookshelf and Kendall said ,'It's not dramatic, it's just the way life goes.'

I groaned and said ,'I'll ask him but I can't promise anything. Are you watching Ben tonight?'

Kendall's reply told me what I needed to know when he asked ,'Wait he has a game tonight?'

I laughed and said ,'I'll take that as a no.'

He laughed and said ,'Whatever, you're representing all of us. Oh did I tell you I saw your ex the other day and he tried to talk to me.'

I laughed and said ,'No you didn't tell me.'

He replied and said ,'Well this is me telling you.'

I rolled my eyes and said ,'Okay whatever Ken. Bye.'

He answered and said ,'Okay bye little sister stop being a stranger.'

As soon as I pulled the phone away from my ear I felt Adonis's arms wrap around and I pulled away from him and said ,'No you haven't even eaten yet.'

He took a seat on the sofa and I went to get the food and gave it to him. Whilst he was eating I was texting and then he finished and he went back to work. The afternoon went by with me sitting in his office quietly whilst he worked. People came into the office once in a while and I just tried to stay under the radar and not distract anyone. Everytime someone walked in they seemed surprised to ser me just sitting there.
