C H A P T E R 5

Adonis's POV

Who would have thought I would be at a club not drinking so I could take care of a girl who is my girlfriend, certainly not me. I'm at clubs with my friends a lot but I drink and flirt with girls but never do anything with them. Since Josie ,I hadn't really been into the dating thing and I've never been a fan of sleeping around.

When I saw Rose tonight I was speechless. My first thought was how gorgeous she was and my second thought was how tonight was going to be a long night watching her, I knew all the guys were going to be trying with her and I didn't want that so I was going to handle it.

I don't share and I am not going to be okay with someone looking at Rose or talking to Rose in a certain way. Rose is at the bar and a guy is talking to her and I am watching them closely just in case I have to cut in. Xavier came and sat next to me and said ,'Your girlfriend is pretty.'

I rolled my eyes at him amd said ,'Don't you have a wife.'

He chuckled and said ,'She'd agree.'

Xavier had been dated Isabelle since we had been in high school and they got married two years ago. Xavier had said Isabelle wasn't here because she was in New Zealand for a family event I think.

Xavier started again and said ,'She's going to have you on your toes you know. '

I grunted and said, 'What you mean on my toes.'

He looked at me and said ,'You know what I mean, she isn't Josie.'

Xavier stood up and walked to sit with Zach and Luke I think it is. I see Rose walking back to us with a drink and she slightly dancing as she walks. I don't even think she knew how cute she looked walking, she came and sat next to me.

She had a frown on her face and said ,'You're drinking water.'

I nodded and turned my body to face her and said ,'Yeah I'm your designated driver.'

She looked so adorable she went from frowning to grinning and said ,'Oh my word really, thanks but how am I supposed to get to know you with your cold demeanour on. I mean I might have been in your head when we were kids but I kind of lost touch.'

When we were younger no one knew me as much Rose did. We were essentially best friends ,and there were times that girls who came over would get jealous and attack her but she always stood her own. Rose was and I'm sure still is full of attitude especially when she is attacked.

I was really close to smiling and then asked ,'You think I have a cold demeanour?'

She looked at me seriously and said,'Yeah definitely, I mean you're hot and all with your straight face but I like love your smile. It always made my day when we were kids.'

I internally grinned at the fact that she had called me hot freely, she was definitely tipsy now.

She stood and said ,'Let's go dance.'

I looked at her funny and said ,'You want me to come dance.'

She nodded and pulled me up and started dragging me to the dance floor. She pulled me through a group of people on the dance floor till we were close to the centre of the dance floor. She put her arms around me and started singing and swaying to the song. I looked at her face and she looked so carefree and happy in that moment. I couldn't help the smile that grew on my face and I started moving along too. She held my face in her palms and brought her face closer to mine and started singing Rihanna's part in take care.

She grinned and sang ,'If you let me in, here is what I'll do, I'll take care of you.'

She stopped singing and was just looking into my eyes. My eyes flickered down to her lips and looked at her eyes again. She came really close to my face and suddenly we were kissing. She wrapped her arms around my neck, I squeezed her ass and she gasped and I took that moment to slip my tongue into her mouth. We stopped kissing to take a breathe and put her head in my chest. She then looked up at me with a pout and said ,'Uhm Adonis.'

I gave her a look to keep speaking and she said ,'I'm hungry.'

I chuckled and said ,'Okay baby, let's go get you food.'

She grinned and I put my hand on her back and started walking her up to our seating area. Only Rose would think about food after kissing. I really enjoyed that kiss and I'm happy that she was my girlfriend and not someone else's. I don't think I would have been able to see Rose with fucking Damien or anyone so I'm just glad it worked out and now the goal is to make her happy and I knew that her being happy was going to make me happy too.

We got to our private area and I saw Nicole sitting on Connors lap and they were making out. I turned to look at Rose and she was about to scream so I covered her mouth and picked up her purse and literally dragged her away from there. I knew if she screamed it would ruin the moment so I needed to get her away before she did or said anything. Connor had been single for too long and he needed someone. For some reason our group of friends was unlucky when it came to love Connor had been used by a girl and hadn't been in a relationship since, Zach has loved the same girl his whole life and she had gotten married and moved to England, Xavier and his wife well they were great and had always been and I was cheated on by Josie and I was so in love with her that when Xavier told me I didn't believe him till he had to show me and it broke me because maybe I'm just unlovable and now Rose has given me hope, she's going to love me and well me; I've basically loved her since we were kids because I loved her then and I'm sure I still do.

We walked to the exit of the club and as soon as we stepped out of the club there were flashing lights from cameras. Of course the fucking paparazzi were here, my smile disappeared and I held Rose's hand and pushed our way to my car. I opened the door and she got in and I went to the driver's side.

I turn to Rose and say ,'So what do you want to eat?'

She grinned and said ,'McDonalds.'

I fake gasped and said ,'That doesn't sound healthy.'

She flipped me the finger and I just laughed. When we got to McDonalds she had taken off her shoes and I noticed so I went to her said of the car and motioned for her to get onto my back. She jumped onto my back and I walked into McDonalds and the few people who were in the restaurant started taking pictures of us. I acted like I didn't notice and we went to the counter and she spoke to the lady behind the counter and when she was done I ordered some water too.

We sat in the waiting area and when our food was ready she practically skipped to the counter barefoot. I followed behind her shaking my head, she was really excited for the food. She got the food and jumped onto my back again and I walked back to the car. As we were driving back to her apartment I tell her to drink the water and she does.

When we got to her apartment she looked at me and said ,'I'm going to go change, make yourself comfortable, I mean that's if you want to stay.'

I nodded at her she led me to her living room and I took a seat.

She walked to where I guess her bedroom is and I decided to look around. I walked into her kitchen and everything was clean and in order. She had the view of the Los Angeles skyline which was beautiful. She had a glass wall and you could see the outside from all around her living room. I stood and looked at the view and I heard Rose walk back in the living room. She came and stood next to me and held my arm and said ,'Are you okay?'

I nodded and said ,'Yeah you've got a nice view here.'

She sighed and said ,'It's okay but I'm kind of over this whole city life thing.'

I looked at her and she was looking at the view. 'Yeah I've never been a fan. As soon as I moved out I got a penthouse in Beverly Hills hated that too. Now I bought a house in Bel Air and it's more my speed.'

I continued and said ,'And you know soon you'll live there too.'

I mentally kicked myself because I just had to go ahead and say that. She smiled and said ,'Yeah I will.'

I was a little shocked by how kind she was about everything. I looked in her eyes and said ,'I mean we can look for a new house because the one I have I chose alone and ....'

I was about to keep going but she stopped me, laughed and said ,'Well I'll have to see it before I decide.'

I was blushing, she had me making a fool of myself right now. She then said ,'Tell me about it.'

I pulled her to the coach and we sat down and she started emptying the McDonalds takeaway bag. She took out two burgers and two large fries and handed me a burger and fries, I didn't know she had ordered food for me too. I took the food and she said ,'Would you like some juice or water or wine or something?'

I nodded and said ,'Do you have lemonade?'

She nodded and walked towards the kitchen. She walked barefoot to the kitchen and for some reason the view made me warm. For some reason having her here with me in her apartment, us about to eat together it made me feel warm inside. I don't think I have ever been so happy to just sit and have McDonalds with someone yet here I am feeling very warm inside.

She was in an oversized tshirt and nike socks. Her legs were amazing and it's unreal how gorgeous this girl is without even trying. She gave me my lemonade and plopped onto the couch next to me with her bottle of water.

She switched on the tv and went to Netflix and put on Big Bang Theory. We sat eating in silence while watching the tv and she would occasionally giggle or laugh.

She muted the tv and turned to me and said ,'So how have you been?'

I shrugged and said ,'I've been okay, how've you been?'

She pouted and said ,'It's been like ten years, let's catch up.'

I shrugged and said ,'You first.'

She shrugged and said ,'Well I got a degree in accounting and finance, I'm a model. I don't really know what you want to know.'

I gave her a look and said ,'I'd like to know everything.'

She laughed and said, 'That's hard, it will take forever.'

I looked at her intensely for a while then said ,'I guess it's good we have the rest of our lives to do it.'

She looked down and there was a blush on her cheeks and she whispered ,'Yeah, yeah we do.'

Her facial expression shifted and when I tell you, I would pay heavy money to know what she was thinking that made her face drop so suddenly.

She took a deep breathe and said ,'What was it? Why did he cheat on me?'

I looked at her and she looked very scared, I think this cheating thing affected her a lot. I looked at her face to see if I could read her and she had a look of thoughtfulness and fear in her eyes. I looked her in the eyes and said ,'You know you weren't the problem right?'

She shrugged and I said ,'You have to believe me, you weren't the problem. I think Denzel has issues and Emma obviously wasn't a good friend.'

She gave me a soft laugh and said ,'Damien and Emily you mean.'

I shrugged and said ,'Whatever, Denzel or Damien I couldn't care less.'

She laughed again and shook her head. She turned back to the tv and I picked up our trash and took it to her kitchen and I found the bin. I came back and sat down and she cozied up to me with and used a blanket to cover both of us.
