C H A P T E R 4 8

Lily's POV

We had just landed on Adonis's private island for our little wedding and I was so excited. It was my first time on his island amd it was stunning but nothing could make me more excited than the thought that when we leave this island I will be married to the love of my life.

I wanted to thank our parents so much for insisting because without them I'm not sure it would have happened. Here I was I had met the love of my life amd we were about to get married, about the spend the rest of our lives together.

Adonis wrapped his arms around me from behind and I smiled softly at the moment. He kissed me behind my ear and said, 'Are you sure?'

I turned aeound and wrapped my arms around his neck and said, 'I am so sure you have no idea, I want to marry you and be starting our life together. I promise.'

He looked into my eyes and nodded, 'Great because I have a surprise for you.'

I furrowed my eyebrows at him and  he said, 'I know we were going to do it just the two of us and the officiant but I thought you might appreciate having a least two of our friends here.'

He motioned towards the window and there standing on the tarmac with two black range rovers vogues were Kiara and Kieran. I gaped and I turned to face him and gave him a kiss. I looked up at him and said, 'Thank you baby so much.'

He put his hands on my face and said, 'I love you more than anything in the world, you know there is nothing I wouldn't do for you.'

I nodded and said, 'Yeah I know and I hope you know there is nothing I wouldn't do for you too. '

The helping hands took the bags off the plane and Adonis said, 'Shall we go down, Kiara is literally bouncing on her toes.'

I nodded and he took my hand and we walked down the stairs of the plane. Kiara was waving at us excitedly and when I got off the stairs I ran towards Kiara who ran too. We hugged and she said, 'I can't believe this,  this is so exciting.'

I squealed and said, 'I know. '

We pulled apart and I said, 'Kiara thank you so much for being here with me. For becoming one of my best friends and being an amazing one at that. '

She smiled and said, 'It's my absolute pleasure, you've been an amazing friend of mine and I'm so happy to be here.'

I turned and dapped up Kieran and he said, 'You know I would not expect anything different from you two.'

We chuckled then I went to kiss Adonis and Kieran and Kiara were standing a bit away. Adonis looked into my eyes and said, 'Bye love. I can't wait to marry you. '

I pecked him again and said, 'Ditto.'

We went into the separate cars and took off towards one of the houses apparently. Kiara asked me what was going on and I started breaking down everything that had happened heading up to this. Kiara shook her head and said, 'You should have just video called me and I would have told them off, they don't have to like me.'

I laughed but Kiara would really do that, I mean she just cannot be bullied like ever.  The conversation switched over to Kieran's parents who apparently tried to dig up dirt on Kiara.

We arrived at the house and in the foyer waiting there was a team. Kiara turned to me amd said, 'We had strict instructions from your soon to be husband, he said to bring a team of people you might need. There is a glam team someone to do your make up, nails, hair, a stylist. '

I sighed and said, 'Thank you so much Kiara.'

She shook her head and we side hugged, 'You don't have to thank me, we are friends, I will always want to do this for you.'

I went into the bathroom upstairs, showered and I was sitting in the make up chair in a gown that says bride on the back. I was going through my vows, memorising them, I had started writing them last night when we had decided. Kiara was sitting in the room getting her hair done, while my make up was being done then they would switch over and it looked like she was working.

She looked at me put her iPad down and said, 'I can feel you overthinking, are you okay?'

I nodded and said, 'This is all perfect but Adonis and I are going to get more than an earful when we get back to Los Angeles for this. '

She hummed and said, 'If I may, I think your idea to do it this the way you want is perfect. This is your wedding do you want to remember it as the happiest day of your life or as the day you were uncomfortable. I just want you to think about yourself this is your special day. Like you said your wedding isn't meant to be an event it's meant to be whatever you want it to be.'

We held hands and she squeezed my hands in comfort and she was right. I should think about myself this is how I want to do it, intimate, no stress. She smiled and she picked her iPad back up and I made a decision and said, 'You know this makes you officially my maid of honour.'

She smiled then it disappeared and she said, 'Lily you don't have to do that, I'm completely fine with just being your friend and just being apart of this. I know your friends hate me already but this will make things between you guys even more tense and I don't want that.'

I nodded and said, 'Maybe it will but you have been invested in the wedding from the beginning. Do you remember when I told you about thinking about getting married at those gardens which they don't do weddings but you got them to be open to that and even give me a tour. We were sending each other ideas for the wedding, if I'm honest you were already my maid of honour. Please be my maid of honour Kiara?'

She was teary eyed and she said, 'I would love to Lily. It would be my absolute honour.'

She stood up and gave me a side hug and we were chuckling trying not to cry and she said, 'I hope you know you have to help me plan the party/ reception now.'

She chuckled and said, 'Of course.'

We had been going through the dresses that Kiara brought and they were gorgeous. It had been a hard decision, the stylist had really gone all out from the dress, to shoes, to accessories, to the lingerie.

I was finally done and Kiara turned to me and said, 'For the finishing touches.'

She opened a box and handed me a card and on it there was Adonis's handwriting. I don't even know when he managed to do all since we were together last night.

On the note it said,

'Hey baby,

In true wedding tradition you need something borrowed, something blue, something new & something old.

The something old is the tiara that my grandmother got married in.

The something blue is the earring that I got you that are made of the blue moon diamond as well.

The something new is the diamond anklet,  I know it's something unoriginal but you do love your jewellery.

The something borrowed is the cufflinks from my grandfather he wore on their wedding that I wil be wearing.

I read up on the tradition and the rules and followed them.

I can't wait to see you up there, I love you.'

I was tearing up and Kiara said, 'No tears, come on.'

I took deep breathes yo calm down and Kiara help me put on all the different pieces. Kiara took pictures of me, she had been taking pictures of me throughout the process of me getting ready and I was thankful for her just being here.

We made our way outside and and there was a white Rolls Royce waiting for us with a driver holding the door open.  I got inside first and Kiara came in after and driver shut the door.

We arrived to the location and right by the door there was a white carpet that led up to an Arbor that was decorated in white,  light green, light tan flowers. The view behind the Arbor was stunning as well.

Adonis my very handsome fiance was standing at the centre in a white tux and I could tell he was nervous.  Mr Brown is a family friend of both families and when Adonis told him our plan apparently he was more than happy to help us out and not say a word about it.

They all turned to face the car and I turned to Kiara I was suddenly excited. She held my hand and squeezed it in comfort. I wanted to run down the alter to Adonis. He had taken every step to make this perfect and it was. It is all a testament to the caring and loving man I was about to marry.

The driver opened Kiara's door first then came around to open mine and I heard the instrumental of Minefields by Faouzia and John Legend playing softly and my heart was full because Adonis had listened. Kiara came to help me get out and she walked me down the aisle.

Adonis smiled at me and I smiled back.  Kiara whispered, 'I'm so happy for you Lily. '

I smiled at her and we gave each other a sort of squeeze. She gave my hand to Adonis when we got the alter and said, 'Take care of her please.'

Adonis nodded and took both of my hands and he let out a breathe. He smiled while shaking his head and said, 'You look wow, I mean you're, wow.'

I chuckled and I said, 'You look handsome Adonis. '

Mr Brown smiled and said, 'Friends, we have been invited here today to share with Lily Rose Hart and Adonis Hamilton in a very important moment of their lives. In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband/wife and wife/husband.'

Mr Brown was speaking but I was looking at Adonis who was smiling at me and playing with my hands. I couldn't help but smile back and I was just thinking wow, this is the man I am spending the rest of my life with and the thought was exciting and made me happy.

Mr Brown then said, 'The vows.'

I smiled and cleared my throat because I was clouding up, 'Adonis, this is it what I've been wishing for since we were kids. I vow to love you more and more everyday and the thought of forever and some with you makes me more than ready for forever and some. When you're sad, angry, happy, excited I vow to be there to experience it all with you. You make me a happier, stronger version of myself and I love and appreciate you for that. You have been there for me since we were together, you are always there to tell me when I'm acting spoiled or when I just need to think of myself a bit more. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, for us to experience everything we have been dreaming and planning. I love you and vow to love and care for you for forever and some.'

I could have sworn I saw a tear there and he cleared his throat, 'Rose, I know I haven't made it easy but you stood by me throughout it all. Before us my life was work and repetitive but you gave me excitement and someone to come home to. The thought of living my life without you is not pleasant for me, that's why I'm thankful that I get to go through life with you. I vow to be the best husband I could possibly be, I vow to protect you, I vow to love you till the end of time, to care for you and to be your number one supporter for our entire lives. I can't wait for this new stage of our lives, I'm beyond excited because I know it's with you. I vow to make every single dream of yours for us come true. '

I felt a tear slip out and Adonis swiped it away and then with a chuckle said, 'And I promise to be there when you cry even though I hate seeing you in tears.'

Everyone chuckled and Mr Brown said, 'That was beautiful you guys. '

Kieran brought the wedding bands and we slipped them on each others hands. I turned to Kiara to show her the ring and she was crying with a smile on her face. She looked at the ring and mouthed wow.

Mr Brown smiled and said, 'By the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.'

Adonis stepped closer to me took my face in his hands and gave me the most emotion filled kiss, I felt. I don't know if it's because of all the emotions I was feeling right now or what but it was amazing.

We pulled apart and Kiara shouted, 'Kiss again.'

Adonis chuckled and came in for another kiss and we made out. We pulled apart and even Mr Brown was beaming and he said, 'I present to you Mr./Mrs. and Mrs./Mr. Hamilton.'

We hugged and then I gave Mr Brown a hug and he walked down to be out of our way. We turned around and Kiara ran and gave me a hug and she said, 'Congrats, I'm so happy for you.'

She sniffled and I smiled, this is perfect this is exactly what I wanted intimate, magical, personal. I even got a hug from Kieran who never gives hugs at all which led to me being surprised and Kiara and Adonis laughing at me.

I looked at Adonis and I put my arms around his neck and I said, 'Here's to forever.'

He gave me a peck and added, 'And some.'

This is it the rest of my life, with the love if my life and I couldn't be more excited.
