Lily's POV

Lily's outfit for all her planning meetings

I was coming from my meeting with Jane and Nicole about the swimwear brand launch party and that had been nothing but disagreements today. We couldn't agree on anything not even a theme so it turned out to be three hours of us arguing and the event planner trying to find a theme we all liked. We had ended up narrowing it down to three themes and we decided to sleep on it for a week then we would meet up again.

I now had a meeting with my mum, Mum Pam, Rebecca, Annaliese and my wedding planner Sarah. My goal was to get as much done as I could or at least get as much started as I could.

There were a few things I was sure about I wanted a small intimate ceremony like strictly family then have a reception with more people, make it a party. The meeting was happening at my family home amd we were having lunch there then we'd move.

I arrived at home to pick Annaliese up so we could go, did I mention how excited Annaliese is it is the best thing. When I was excited about things that Adonis didn't understand she was there just as excited as I was and I had facetime calls with Kiara about the wedding and what I was thinking and she would be there too.

We got to the family home and since Annaliese and I were a bit late we went straight to the dining room and apologised for being late. Rebecca looked thankful to see us and I just smiled at her and she came up to us and said, 'Next time you plan on being late how about you share that information.'

I chuckled and the food was brought in and the family chef, Mrs T came and she said, 'Afternoon ladies, today's menu is our starter is grilled lobster tails with lemon and herb butter, our main course will be black bean vegetarian burger and for dessert sticky ginger pudding.'

Mrs T looked at me and I smiled because she had picked some of my favourites of hers. I had missed the people in the house and moments like this made me remember why I loved my childhood.

I smiled at Sarah and said, 'I am so sorry we were late this is Annaliese my sister in law.'

Annaliese loved the sister in law title so I used it all the time. Sarah smiled and said, 'Oh it was no bother, I was just speaking to Mrs Hart and Mrs Hamilton about their ideas for your wedding.'

I furrowed my ehebrows because yes I had conversations with Mum Pam, I hadn't told my mum anything. I hummed and Sarah continued there seems to be a cross roads because Mrs Hamilton had mentioned that you wanted a small ceremony and a big reception but Mrs Hart mentioned you would want a big ceremony and a big reception. '

I nodded, Mum Pam was right about it because we had talked about it. The only reason why I had even said a big reception it was not for me but my mum because I knew she wanted it big. I wanted the ceremony intimiate because I wanted the people who come to that intimate part to have love for us and for us to love them because that would make it more magical and special.

I knew with all the family and friends both sides have, it would be a massive wedding. The lunch was not going well for me, both Mum Pam and my mum had ganged up on me and were practically planning the wedding themselves it was getting overwhelming.

I would give a suggestion and they would take it and make it way more extravagant which isn't what I wanted , I wanted simple. I had asked for simple so many times during lunch but it fell on deaf ears, Annaliese had even tried to too. At the end they were talking to Sarah and Rebecca, Annaliese and I were talking about what had happened this week on Love Island. Anneliese and I had started it and Rebecca was watching it as well.

I laughed as Rebecca went off on one of the guys who was being a prick. I heard my name and for the first time in a while I paid attention to the mums and Sarah and I noticed Sarah had a her iPad out probably typing out all the plans. My mum asked, 'What brand shoes do you want diamond encrusted?'

I furrowed my eyebrows and I asked, 'Excuse me?'

She looked at me like I was confused, 'What shoes do you need diamond encrusted we need time for those things to happen.'

I nodded and said, 'Okay mum, Mum Pam, I appreciate all the help but I asked for simple so please can we keep it as simple as possible.'

My mum shook her head no much to my shock and she said, 'Oh honey, simple isn't possible this is a big wedding. '

I looked to Mum Pam for help but she said, 'Your mum is right sweetie, it has to be an extravagant event.'

I nodded and said, 'I understand but I'm not comfortable with it being extravagant, I'm not even okay with having a big reception but I understand this is meant to be big so I'm willing to do that.'

My mum shook her head and said, 'You need to understand the importance of our families coming together.'

I kept quiet because I saw the look on my mum's face it was that face of calm down so I did. The rest of the lunch continued not to go well at least not for me, they continied planning and this time didn't even ask me to pitch in.

I excused myself from lunch that was wrapping up and I went to the kitchen to see Mrs T. She saw me walk in and I smiled brightly as I could and we shared a hug. We pulled apart and she put her hands on my shoulders and she said, 'Look at you a fiancee now, it feels like just a bit ago I was baking you chocolate cakes because of jerks.'

I smiled because she wasn't wrong it happened so many times and sometimes I wasn't upset by boyfriends but just by guys I liked. I hugged her again and whispered, 'Thank you so much for the dinner Mrs T. Your food never stops being yum.'

She smiled and she was holding my hands, 'Look Lily I know you, you are a people pleaser and I know you want to make your mum and mother in law both happy but it's your wedding they had theirs. You want to remember your wedding and have it be something you love and treasure for the rest of your life. It doesn't matter if it's on an island somewhere, in your home, or in court it's about you being happy and the person who you're marrying.'

I sighed and said, 'Thank you Mrs T, I should remember that advice. Something tells me this planning isn't going to be a walk in the park. '

She chuckled and gave my arm a comforting rub and we shared another hug. My mum and Mum Pam were taking Sarah to her car and I didn't want to deal with this right now, running from my problems I know but the amount of stress I was feeling would be elevated. I got into the car with Annaliese and she said, 'I'm sorry about that.'

I shrugged and said, 'Well it's a big wedding. I just want to get home and sleep off this headache before dinner.'

We got home and Anneliese and I went our separate ways. I know she was feeling weord because she could probably feel how tense I was but I didn't know what to say either because if I'm honest I didn't know how to feel. I just got onto Adonis and I's bed and I knocked out in record time I'm sure.

I felt a soft kiss on my forehead and I opened my eyes and saw Adonis who looked like he had just got home. I looked at the clock and it was almost seven thirty in the evening. He sat on the bed and said, 'Are you okay, Anneliese told me about the lunch?'

I shrugged and took off his shoes and socks and he sat cross legged facing me. I sat up and faced him with my legs draped over his legs. He took my hands and I smiled, 'How was your day?'

He nodded and said, 'It was good, things are going well. You know I love my job, I can't complain. '

I loved how much Adonis loved his job, he had so much passion and it was special to see. My phone pinged and it was an enail from Sarah, I opened the email and it was pretty much our entire wedding planned and it was still extravagant, I mean there were doves.

I handed Adonis the phone and he read through the plans. He looked up at me and he said, 'I thought you wanted a simple wedding.'

I nodded and said, 'I did, I do and I know you wanted one too. I even kept asking but they said it isn't possible because this is a big event. I don't want it to be an event Adonis this is our wedding, I want it to be as intimate as possible, special. The thought of looking at our wedding pictures and seeing people that the both of us don't know is something I don't want.'

I groaned and I laid back on the bed looking at the ceiling. It was quiet for a bit then I was pulled up and Adonis said, 'Let's go get married, you and me. We can get an official to come with us and we can do it alone. I can already tell this is going to make you upset and stress you out. I don't want that.'

I looked in his eyes and said, 'What?'

He smiled and said, 'Let's go, you and me. Let's get married in private we can come back and have a party with everyone else. I know you are going to want to make everyone happy and that isn't going to make you happy. '

I smiled and said, 'Are you sure? What about everyone else?'

He shook his head and said, 'Everyone else doesn't matter, it's about you and me. The only person who needs to be happy for me to be happy is you.'

This sounded perfect, it could be intimate to us and not be made a spectacle out of. These fights were not going to end and I knew it.

I literally jumped on him and he chuckled and I gave him a hug. I sat up on him and he said, 'I'm going to take that as a yes.'

I nodded excitedly and he said, 'I'll call the official you wanted and the team on my private island and I'll get our wedding bands out of the safe. We can leave tomorrow.'

I put my hands on his chest and I said, 'I fucking love you Adonis Hamilton.'

He shrugged and said, 'Well what else is new.'

I had to ask him, 'Are you sure though?'

He nodded and said, 'Of course all that matters to me is that you are the one I'm marrying and that you are happy. I know our parents aren't always easy to deal with and especially the way everything our families have to do have to be an event. I am happy with this being private and special for us. '

He flipped us over and I wrapped my legs around him. I was smiling and he looked at my face, 'I can't believe we are getting married. '

I nodded, sort of tearing up and said, 'I know me too. The start of the rest of our lives.'
