C H A P T E R 4 5

Lily's POV

I was getting highly irritated now, Adonis and I were in the news not only because of the pictures of us from Manchester when we were in McDonalds which I'm okay with but what is irritating me is that Damien had something that had us on every single single gossip page or show it was ridiculous. Adonis had insisted that it was okay but having him in the news, made me uncomfortable because at the end of the day he is a businessman and his life is private.

I was seated in my make up chair about to be in glam for a long time and Jenny had sent me a lot of links to see what people were saying. There was the one show that talked about Nicole and I dating billionaires and I wanted to hear what they had to say.

I pressed play and the first woman said, 'Okay so in other news Lily Rose Hart who recently got engaged to her businessman boyfriend late last year seems to be happier than ever. She was spotted a few night ago with him in Manchester while she is going around the world for work it seems. She has been in multiple international campaigns not to mention the international magazine covers. They were seen in McDonalds where she was tucking into her burger and a fan snapped a picture but here is the thing she looked gorgeous while she did. '

The second woman jumped in and said, 'They both looked amazing and they weren't dressed up at all. She has no make up and she looks amazing, I mean all I was thinking when I saw these pictures was that's not fair. '

The audience chuckled and so far they were being kind. The first woman went on and said, 'On Lily's instagram story she posted that he got her McDonalds and donuts in their hotel room. These two seem completely unbothered I mean she is happy and in love, chasing that bag. '

The second woman tapped back in and said, 'Well you know peace isn't for long. Her ex boyfriend the football player did an interview where when asked why he has been in a slump when he showed so much promise said and I quote 'Someone who really inspired and made me want to be the best version of myself is gone. She really motivated me so much seeing her work so hard even when she didn't have to. It was something dumb I did that caused me to lose that person but I'm trying to get back into the zone'. Now what I got is that he has to be talking about Lily right?'

The first woman nodded and said, 'I think so because he did say she and her. The last time his statistics were good was when he was still dating Lily so surely he is talking about her. '

The second woman sighed and said, 'Something I found interesting as well is when they had just broken up, he and Lily's ex best friend they insinuated that she cheated but now it sounds like he cheated.'

The first woman turned to look at the audience and said, 'A question for us to discuss is do you find that men tend to realise what they've lost after they see their ex partner has moved on and happy.'

I clicked off the video in just pure irritation that this is even a conversation. I couldn't believe that Damien was doing this, it's been almost two years and the fact that this still comes up is ridiculous, even if he feels that way he should know better than to put it out to the world. A facetime call came in and it was Kiara, I answered and she said, 'Did I just see an interview on some sports channel Kieran was watching where you ex spoke about you?'

Kiara always makes sure to check on me whenever something that might even slightly upset me comes out. I couldn't help but chuckle at her because I could tell she was in bed all comfortable. I pointed at her and said, 'You look comfy and ready for bed.'

She sighed and said, 'Well I'm sick with a cold and normally I'd be working but Kieran will not let me, he is ridiculous and driving me crazy. '

Kieran popped his head into the screen and said, 'Well she doesn't take care of herself someone should.'

He popped back out and she rolled her eyes. We had a conversation for about thirty minutes and then conversation ended. My phone started ringing and it was Adonis's mum. I had been with Adonis's family at Christmas and it was so much fun, she was really happy about the proposal and we did a lot of bonding. We went to her charity event which was giving gifts to the children, we played tennis, we went shopping and we did some cooking.

I answered and said, 'Hi Mrs Hamilton.'

She groaned and said, 'I thought we agreed on calling me mum.'

I laughed and said, 'Sorry, I meant mum.'

She laughed and said, 'That's better. I heard you're in Tokyo and I need to talk to you about something so I'll be popping in soon.'

I nodded and said, 'Well I have a fashion show and I'd actually love for you to come then we can have dinner after.'

I heard her hum and she said, 'I was hoping you'd offer me, you're my prodigee.'

I laughed and she said, 'I'll be there tonight.'

I hummed and said, 'I'll send you a ticket right now.'

She hummed and said, 'Okay sweetheart, love you I'll see you tonight.'

We ended the call and now I had something else on my mind, what does she want to talk about. She could want to talk about anything in the world.

The day had been very fast and I felt like I had a very busy day but these were my best days. In the back of my head I was just thinking about Adonis's mum coming but I couldn't get too anxious because I was busy.

I had just arrived at the location of the fashion show and I was sitting getting my makeup done. I was texting with Adonis and he told me he was feeling a bit under the weather but he was refusing to go rest. I groaned and rolled my eyes, he was acting like a big baby.

Jenny came and she said, 'Lily, your visitor is here.'

I stood up and turned around and Adonis's mum had just walked into the room. The other models around the room were fangirling because she was modelling royalty, one of the best to ever do it.

She gave me a bright smile, with her arms open and I walked into her arms. She gave me a squeeze which made me let out a breathe, it was comforting. We pulled apart and ahe said, 'Hi sweetheart, how are you feeling, nervous?'

I nodded and she smiled and said, 'You'll be fine, you've done this a million times.'

I took a deep breathe and nodded because she is right. I do this all the time but the nerves never go away. Jenny brought a chair for Adonis's mum and she took a seat and we started talking while I was getting my make up done.

I felt so much better and while we were talking the other models were coming and asking for pictures with her. I was done and the team was helping me nodded approvingly and I smiled and said, 'Thank you guys so much.'

They walked away and Adonis's mum was tearing up. She sniffled and she said, 'Oh dear, I'm emotional.'

I started fanning myself so I wouldn't cry and ruin the hard work the make up artist had put into it. She took a deep breathe and she said, 'It feels like it's been a flash since you were a little girl modelling your new clothes for me and begging to come watch my shows and look at you now. '

She held my hands and I said, 'Thank you Mum Pam.'

She took a really deep breathe and said, 'Okay I'm going to go, before I cry anymore.'

I chuckled and she pulled me in for one more hug before she left. I was headlining and I was bouncing on my toes as the other models went and came out. It was my turn now and I started my walk conpletely zoned out. I got to the end and I pised making sure the boots which were the focus were under the spotlight. I turned around and as soon as I was past the curtain I was running to have a change. They changed my hair and put it down and I was about to walk out.

The other models all gave me smiles and thumbs up which I took a deep breathe then walked out. I had a bright smile because this was more cheerful than anything. I had to get to the end of the runway and wait for the designer to come and join me. I posed, blowing kisses and the fans had my hair blowing nicely.

I felt someone take my hand and I was shocked to see Adonis's mum. She applauded in my direction which made me a tad bit emotional then I turned to her to clap in a way thanking her because she is the reason I fell in love with modelling.

We both stepped to the side and the designer came in the middle and everyone was on their feet already. He have me a hug and did a bow in my direction which made me laugh. We walked back to the exit and we all said our goodbyes and thank you's.

Lily's outfit for her dinner out with Adonis's mother/ her mother in law

I was now at dinner at Adonis's mum and I had missed having a motherly figure like this. My mum and I have been very strained since the situation with the Charity Foundation and I was aware that it was a spoiled reaction but it was what my grandmother asked me to do and something I had really wanted to do.

She chuckled and said, 'Honey, I really need you to hear me out before you make a decision okay?'

I nodded and she said, 'Okay, it was brought to my attention that your family's foundation is being spearheaded by someone else but I know that you love and take charity seriously and since your family didn't give you the position but I wanted to snag you up. Please can you spearhead our families charity foundation, I mean I've been thinking about it for a long time and I don't know if there is anyone I would be more comfortable with having that position.'

I was in shock and teary eyed and she was waiting patiently for me. I took a deep breathe and said, 'Mum Pam, this is an amazing opportunity but please don't feel like you have to just because I don't get to do it for my family.'

She took my hand in hers on the table and she shook her head no then said, 'Oh no honey, I want you to understand something I thought of this way before I just wanted to respect your parents but they missed and I won't do the same. You are family now our daughter in law. '

I felt so much better and she started explaining their charity and what they focus on. They weren't working with Unicef like my family's foundation but they focussed on  different cancers. The story of why they started being that Adonis's great grandmother had breast cancer and she started the initiative  since she had an idea what it was like.

Mum Pam was now looking at me expectantly and I said, 'I would love join you family foundation, it would be an honour.'

She squealed and we stood up and hugged and she whispered, 'But it's our family honey. You aren't just joining you're going to spear head I can't see anyone who would do better. I did my research and I just know it.'

I pulled away and she gave me a bright smile. She gave me the brightest smile and said, 'I can't wait to tell my husband.'

I chuckled and the rest of our dinner we were just chatting. Some time during dinner  the conversation turned into the wedding and it felt so good to let out all the ideas that had been floating around in my head. Kiara had been super busy as of late and things between Nicole, Jane and I are still rocky and I'm starting to believe maybe our friendship will never fully recover.
