C H A P T E R 4 3

Lily's POV

Lily's outfit for the Los Angeles Chargers Christmas Gala

I was so super nervous right now since I couldn't really decide how to give Adonis his present. I had left the jewellery boxes on the bed in our bedroom and I came to this room to be glammed up.

I was now all ready and I took a deep breathe and walked out of the bedroom. Adonis turned around as soon as I walked out. I smiled at him and he let out a breathe then said, 'Wow.'

He looked good and he was wearing the cuff links as well. They matched the blue part of my dress so it made us coordinated. When our stylist had planned our outfit Adonis was supposed to wear a blazer that was sparkly blue but he had not wanted to wear it at all. He had swapped the shiny blazer for a black blazer with a white shirt with the top buttons popped open and an undone bow tie. Adonis obviously had good taste it was simple but he looked really good.

I gave him a smile and he came and put his hands on my waist and said ,'You look gorgeous, fiancee.'

I blushed and scrunched my nose and said, 'Well you look very handsome fiance.'

He put his hands on my waist and he said, 'I really can't believe you did that.'

I smiled goofily and he just shook his head with a smile as well and he said, 'You're amazing and I love them. '

He paused and he looked into my eyes and he said, 'Thank you Lily.'

I gave him a kiss on the bottom part of his chin and he hummed, licked his lips looking down at me and came down for a kiss. I heard the clearing of throats and we pulled apart and it was Julissa and my glam team were there. Adonis cleared his throat and said ,'Ladies.'

They all smiled and I could tell some of them were smitten with Adonis. He turned to me and said ,'I'll leave you all to discuss. '

He walked down the hall towards our room and Julissa said, 'Okay Lily, I see you.'

I playfully rolled my eyes and started pushing them towards the stairs. We walked down and I said ,'You can all have some dinner if you'd like, I know Mrs Camry would love that.'

Mrs Camry who happened to be walking past the stairs said ,'Yes please, I cooked for this recently engaged couple but apparently they have a gala to attend tonight.'

I looked at her with my head to the side and said, 'Mrs Camry I thought Adonis told you. I think you should be mad at just him and you know not me.'

She playfully narrowed her eyes and said, 'Oh is that so?'

I nodded, she just laughed and hip checked me then motioned for the glam team to follow her towards the kitchen. Adonis came down the stairs and said ,'Okay beautiful, are you ready to go?'

I hummed and he took my hand and he led me to the front of the house where Adonis's favourite car was. Recently Adonis had dragged me along with him to buy a car and he had forced me to help him choose one but he hadn't used it yet until today.

I turned to him in surprise and said ,'Your favourite car.'

He nodded and said, 'I wanted my fiance and I to travel in style. I can be excited right?'

I smiled and said ,'Yeah you can be excited.'

He smiled and said, 'Great, right this way milady.'

He opened the car door for me and I stepped in and he went round to his side.

He started the car and we were on our way to the Christmas Gala. I was texting Kiara and she said that her and Kieran were running a bit late.

We arrived at the hotel and the hotel was all decked out in White Christmas decorations and it looked gorgeous really. The planner had done really good and they had put fake snow on the outside and everything. I looked and said, 'I'm getting some good ideas for the house Christmas decorations.'

He walked out and came around to open my door and put his hand out for me and with a charming smile he said, 'Future wife.'

I playfully rolled my eyes with a smile and took his hand. There were cameras flashing and I looked with a smile on my face we started walking towards the entrance. I looked at Adonis and he had his face stoic as we walked in. He looked at me and gave me a smile and a wink which made me smile too. All of the papparazzi were asking about the engagement but we just kept walking.

In almost a sudden moment the papparazzi went even more berzerk and started trying to get a photo of my ring and trying to get a reaction out of us but we weren't giving anything up. I was by the stairs and one of the papparazzi grabbed my leg and Adonis acted fast he grabbed the guys arm and yanked it away from my leg. Everything happened so fast and our security team was surrounding us and moving us up into the ballroom.

I had completely frozen when that happened and Adonis, he just moved so fast. The security led us to a room and we were left inside and Adonis sat me down. He got on one knee and started scanning where the papparazzi had grabbed my leg. He took a deep breathe and said ,'Fucking bastard. '

I smiled as I looked at him, he was scanning where the papparazzi had grabbed my leg very carefully. I could tell he was angry because his British accent was very apparent right now. He swore under his breathe and said ,'I'm going to go and beat the shit out of him, you have a fucking bruise. '

I chuckled and he looked up and said, 'Why are you laughing?'

I smiled and said, 'You're cute when you're worried.'

He shook his head but ended up smiling too. I put my hands on his face and said ,'It's okay Adonis, I'm completely fine.'

He looked at me and said ,'Well you're not completely fine there is a bruise right here.'

I gave him a 'really' look and he let out a breathe and said, 'You're sure, you're okay?'

I nodded and said ,'I'm fine baby, I promise.'

He nodded and stood up and said ,'Well that's good but that is unacceptable and I'm going to sort it out. I would really rather beat his ass right there on the spot but I know you don't want that and that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.'

I looked at him and shook my head because I knew he wasn't changing his mind. In all fairness he was right one of the rules of when paparazzi are allowed at these events is that you never touch anyone and he didn't follow those regulations. He took his phone out of his pocket and called Norman.

Norman answered and Adonis said ,'Norman, I'm sure you're aware of what just happened to Lily with the papparazzi and I assume you're going to sort it out.'

I heard Norman talking and then Adonis said ,'Thanks get it done then message me when it's done and please organise a meeting with his employer for tomorrow.'

Did I mention how very very attractive Adonis looked when he is being serious. I stood up, walked towards him and when I got to him I put one of my hands on his chest and started pushing him towards a wall and when we got there I said, 'Did I tell you how attractive you are when you do things like that?'

He looked at me and huskily said ,'Maybe you have once before, but I'm not opposed to being told again.'

I gave him a peck and he gaped at me. I smiled and said, 'No we can't because my make up will be messed up and besides you know how we can be.'

I wiped off the lip gloss that was still on his lips using my fingers and I said ,'I left some uhm lip gloss on your lips.'

I finished wiping and I put my hands on his shoulders and he whispered huskily, 'Lily if you knew the things I could just do to you.'

I looked into his eyes, he whispered in my ear and said, 'If you knew what the fuck I'm going to do to you tonight?'

I blushed with a smile, started playing with his bowtie that wasn't done but was left hanging and I said, 'I'm counting on you keeping your word about that.'

He smirked and I blushed and tried to play it off, and cool off and said, 'This little undone bow tie look is really working by the way. Like really working. '

He grinned and my phone pinged and I took it out of my clutch. It was a text from Kiara she said they were here now. I looked at him and said, 'Kieran and Kiara are here.'

He nodded and I was about to walk but he held my hand and pulled me back into his arms. He looked into my eyes and said, 'Did I mention how much I love you.'

I looked into his eyes and I decided fuck it and I gave him a big kiss. He carried me and I was pressed against the wall, Adonis was a good kisser and I mean very good. He ended up pecking my neck and I just had my head backwards as he just kissed me. He put me down and gave me one more long peck and I just sighed with my eyes closed in the moment. I opened my eyes and I knew I had messed up his hair it was really neat when we walked in but now it was more of a messy look, don't get me wrong because he still looked really good.

He was scanning my face and he said, 'Okay I didn't mess up your make up.'

I looked at his hair and said, 'I wish I could the say the same but your hair.'

He chuckled and ran his hands through his hair and now he looked like it was an intended look. It now looked like a messy formal look. He asked, 'Better?'

I nodded and then walked towards him and fixed his untied bow tie by straightening it. I stepped back for a second and then I nodded and, 'There, all done.'

I was about to apply my lipgloss but Adonis took the lipgloss gave me another peck then started applying it for me. I looked up at him and as cringe as I'm about to sound but it's true, I was just falling deeper and deeper in love with this man right here.

We finally walked out of the room and we were looking around for Kiara and Kieran. Adonis had his hand on my waist and said, 'You know Kieran told me that he wasn't happy with the comment that Jane made last night.'

I winced and said ,'Yeah that was so bad but when I tried to talk to Kiara about it she said it was all good.'

He nodded and said ,'I wish Kieran felt that way and I don't know if he's going to let it go. He brought it up after the meeting at the Charger's offices and he seemed very tight about it so I think Kiara was really upset about it and I know Kieran, who knows what he is going to do or if he is going to do anything as well. Him being in a relationship is unchartered territory so anything could happen.'

I shook my head and said ,'Damn. What Jane said was so uncalled for and I just wanted to die when she said it. '

Adonis laughed and said, 'Agreed but Luke's reaction was hilarious. Not in the moment but maybe thinking back at it.'

I laughed and made eye contact with Kiara and she told Kieran and they were now walking in our direction. Kiara really matched the theme with gold ball gown and with the Peacock Christmas Party Theme.

We met in the middle and Kiara let out a breathe and we exchanged greetings. Kiara and I started going towards the bar to get the guys drinks and the guys were going to talk to the other owners.

We were walking and Kiara said ,'I heard you were like mobbed but papparazzi are you okay?'

I nodded and said, 'I'm fine he just grabbed my leg, I think he was trying to get a picture of the engagement ring.'

She nodded and gave me a short side hug and said, 'As long as you're okay. Well obviously you had a quickie so you're okay.'

I gaped at Kiara and said, 'How can you tell?'

She hummed playfully and said, 'Maybe it's the lingering looks you're sharing when one of you talks, the way you're pink oh and yeah he has lipgloss on his neck.'

I gasped because I hadn't seen it but Kiara had. She laughed and said, 'It was Kieran who actually told me.'

I was even more shocked now and I had to ask, 'When?'

She shrugged then said, 'When we were all talking. Okay so I have a question?'

We ordered our drinks and took a seat at the bar and she said, 'So do the women here just stare at men even if they are with someone?'

I laughed and said ,'Welcome to the club missy.'

She shook her head and said, 'I'm not the one, like I'm really not. I didn't like that energy that some of them came with. One of the girls tried to bump into Kieran twice she failed and tried again. I just don't know how you handle it.'

I shook my head and said, 'Oh my word trust me when I say I don't handle it, I'm literally fuming on the inside when things like that happen.'

The bar tender put the drinks in front us and we thanked him. The guys are supposed to come and join us so we are just keeping their drinks while they greet the other owners. She took a sip of her hurricane cocktail and I said, 'It's like they do not see us with the guys or maybe do and decide to ignore us anyway.'

She laughed and she was about to speak when Joshua one of the guys on the team came and said ,'Hi Lily.'

I couldn't help but make a face because Joshua wasn't a friend and had only ever probably spoken to me once before. I replied suspiciously and said, 'Hey Joshua.'

I looked at Kiara and she was clearly entertained by the face I had made. I sent her a look telling her it was weird and she seemed to understand. I furrowed my eyebrows and said, 'What's up Joshua?'

He looked at me then looked at Kiara and I suddenly understood all the fascination. He took a breathe and said, 'I just wanted to meet your friend here and introduce myself.'

He put his hand out and said ,'Hi I'm Joshua.'

Kiara gave him a professional smile and said ,'Kiara.'

He nodded and said ,'It's nice to meet you. Where would I know you from?'

I wanted to laugh at Kiara because I don't think Joshua could tell she was just being polite and she didnt know what to do.

I saw the guys coming from behind Kiara and Kieran looked very stormy and annoyed and Adonis was laughing. Kieran came and stood behind Kiara and put his hands on her waist from behind her, Joshua is tall but Kieran and Adonis are really tall guys so he didn't look as big as he normally would.

Adonis took a seat on one of the bar stools and I stood in between his legs watching what was going on. Kiara was obviously feeling awkward because she just sipped her cocktail. Joshua smiled at Kiara and said ,'It was nice to meet you,' and he walked away.

Adonis was tickling my waist and I was trying not to squirm too much. I turned around and faced him and he just had a mischievous smile on his face. I smiled amd said ,'You are being silly.'

He shrugged and said, 'It's been a good week. '

I turned back to face the others and Kiara said, 'Lily, did I tell you. Kieran knew what that painting with the brush strokes meant.'

I gaped and said, 'No fucking way.'

I pulled out my phone and handed it to Adonis to see the painting and he looked at it for a bit then said, 'Okay I'm seeing different types of darkness like evil, depression, gloominess, power. They are all in the colour black because all of these represented are types of darkness hence why the brush strokes are different. I guess it's about what you see as darkness but those are the types of darkness I'm thinking.'

I gaped and Kiara had a look on her face making it obvious she had the same reaction. Kieran added and said, 'Besides this artist is known for signifying emotions using colours.'

Kiara took a sip of her cocktail and under her breathe said, 'Nerd.'

I couldn't help but laugh and Kieran just looked at her in shock and she shrugged. Adonis was laughing and I turned to him and said, 'You too.'

He gaped and I gave him a peck and said, 'Don't worry I still love you though.'

We were now sitting on the table with the other two owner couples. Jill one of the owners wife said, 'Lily I saw you got engaged recently.'

I sipped my water and nodded and shyly said, 'Uhm yes, last night actually.'

She had a motherly smile and said, 'Oh honey congradulations, both of you.'

We said thank you at the same time and her husband, Grant said, 'Congradulations you two. '

The conversation in the table went from marriage to children to clothes. It was a really fun table actually, there was a lot of teasing and laughing and we had caught eyes from the other tables multiple times.

Throughout the gala we had multiple people coming up and congradulating us. The wives had lost their minds when I went to speak to them and they really embraced Kiara and they liked her. I had so much fun, there was laughs, good food and now we were at home.

Adonis had carried me up the stairs and he would pretend to almost drop me on our way. Anneliese had messaged me and told me she was craving ramen so I was making it for her Adonis because he had said he was still hungry too.

I was already in my pyjamas and I handed Anneliese her bowl of ramen and said, 'Do you want to explain why you're in a bad mood?'

Adonis came back and I handed him his bowl and started eating my seaweed chips. Anneliese and Adonis hated my seaweed chips and when we first started living together they always made fun of my chips but I think they are used to it now.

She took a deep breathe and said, 'Kiara was at the sleepover. Can you believe Leah invited both us, I would have rather not been invited at all. I couldn't leave and it was just horrible, she had the nerve to talk about how she still liked Ronald and I was there.'

Adonis looked at his little sister and said, 'Why would you stay why not just leave?'

She gaped at Adonis and said, 'Because I won't let her bother me.'

Adonis groaned and said, 'But you are letting her.'

That pretty summed up the rest of my night it was Anneliese venting to us and Adonis trying his absolute best to annoy her. Adonis actually ended up in the pool because when we were standing by the pool Adonis called an argument Anne had with Ronald stupid and Anne didn't think twice before shoving him into the pool.

I had gone to the edge of the pool to talk to Adonis and he had pulled me inside. Anne got it on video and posted it on her Instagram story and it was getting traction. People said they found it adorable and it was already on multiple magazine and gossip sites. Also in the magazines was the grabbing of my leg and how there was bruising, the employer had released a statement apologising. Adonis however did tell me that they had charged the guy and he said he wasn't letting it go.
