C H A P T E R 4 2

Lily's POV

Adonis had left early this morning for work. I had been sleeping when he left but I do slightly remember a peck and some I love yous being said before he left. For the past two weeks it had been nonstop work for me, I had been in multiple different timezones which is why I had been exhausted lately. After the amount of sleep I had today I felt like I had finally recovered so I could start not being lazy again.

I was going to go and pick Kiara up from the hotel and we were going to hang out today. The guys were going to the Los Angeles Chargers building place to do an inspection or something so we had decided we were going to do something as well. We had chosen to go to The Broad and go for lunch. One thing Kiara and I had in common was that Adonis and Kieran were very cultured and us not so much so we were going to attempt to be cultured by going to look at art. I was cultured in fashion well sort of and Kiara was cultured in all things Architecture.

I was going to go and pick Kiara up from the hotel then we were going to just hang out. I had considered texting Nicole and Jane to come along and Kiara had been open to the idea but when it came time to text them I couldn't bring myself to do it. Everything was calm in my life right now, I guess you could say I was running away from the conflict between Nicole, Jane and I and it was going to blow up sooner or later.

First we were going to have lunch at Nobu then we would embark on our cultural journey. Art was a first step on my cultural growth because Adonis could tell you about different countries histories, architecture, food, wine, music, dance and sculptures and well I could sort of hold up conversations but not like him so I was going to try. I was very very educated when it came to fashion and modern architecture but that was about it. The reason for my education in modern architecture was because I was always thinking of my future home so I did research.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where Mr and Mrs Camry seemed to be having a cups of tea. I smiled and said ,'Morning you guys.'

They smiled and I couldn't help but notice how tired they looked. I took a seat opposite them on kitchen breakfast bar where they had put a cleansing juice for me. They had known I was going for a big lunch so I had asked if I could not have any breakfast and they had made me a juice. I took a sip of the juice and said, 'Should I ask why you guys look so tired?'

Mrs Camry looked up and said ,'My daughter left my grandson at our house to spend Christmas and New Year here with in LA last night and he doesn't sleep. Do you know he had baseball day camp today and was up early even after sleeping extra late last night?'

I chuckled and Mr Camry said, 'No it's ridiculous. Where is he getting all this energy from?'

I thought for a bit and said, 'Since Anneliese is at her friend's house for a sleepover, Adonis is at work and I'm about to go out, how about you guys head home and rest before the little monster comes back. You'll need it besides being here will be wasting your time.'

Mrs Camry looked thankful and said ,'Thank you sweetheart.'

I smiled and said ,'Of course and if you need someone to babysit while your daughter is on her business trip I can do that since I don't have work till almost mid January.'

They nodded and Mr Camry said, 'I'll definitely be holding you to that.'

I smiled and finished off my juice and I gave them hugs before I headed out. I was kind of stuck in traffic right now on my way to Kiara's hotel. I was having a moment by myself in the car and the light kind of hit my ring and it caught my eye. I stared at the ring and I was just in awe, as much as Adonis and I had talked about marriage and kids before I had never told him about what my dream ring would look like.

Even if I had come up with a dream ring I never would have been able to top what he came up with. The blue moon diamond kind of reminded me of Adonis's eyes and I don't know if he did it on purpose but it was a detail I was in love with. The pearl Grandma Anne's pearl was the other detail and I loved it. Grandma Anne had a pearl wedding ring and I always thought it was just beautiful and unique ring because most of the rings I was seeing around me were diamond rings but she just had her pearl ring. I remember when Grandpa Andrew passed away and she started wearing her ring around her neck on a necklace and it would just twinkle at times there was something unique about that pearl, I don't think it was a normal pearl. Then the silver band instead of gold, I preferred silver over gold not sure why but I did.

I was thinking of getting Adonis something that matched the ring he had got for me. I was thinking maybe some Cartier bracelets with some blue moon diamonds or maybe a customised watch with the blue moon diamonds or maybe some cuff links with the blue moon diamonds.

I picked up my phone and called Griffin who was the jeweller I used. Griffin answered and said ,'Now to what to do I owe this call?'

I smiled and said, 'Hi Griffin, how are you?'

He hummed and said, 'I'm good, you good?'

I nodded then realised he couldn't see me amd I said, 'Yeah I'm good. I wanted to ask for a big favour.'

He hummed and said, 'Okay sure Lily shoot.'

I turned into the hotel and I was waiting at the front of the hotel. I quickly texted Kiara to come down and I said ,'I wanted to uhm get some jewellery made for Adonis.'

He hummed and I continued and said, 'Some cuff links and some customization to some Cartier bracelets.'

He nodded and said ,'That's doable, details.

I let out a breathe and said, 'Okay thanks. I'll text them to you.'

He hummed and said, 'Okay do that. I'll be in touch.'

I smiled because I could get him the jewellery. I looked through my window and I saw Kiara walk out the doors of the lobby and I rolled down my window so she could see me. She smiled when she saw me and came to the car and jumped in. She smiled and said ,'Nice car Lily.'

I smiled and said, 'Thanks bubs.'

I sent the email to Griffin with the details I want on the cuff links and Cartier Bracelets.

As soon as I was done I started the car and said, 'So are we ready ?'

She nodded and said, 'Yup let's go. This is going to be a fun day.'

She sat back and said ,'Woo hoo,' and I couldn't help but join.

We were now driving down the highway on our way to Nobu with the windows open and our hair going crazy in the wind as we just sung along to the music that she was playing. Kiara was really good at being the DJ and as a result we were just wildly bopping in the car. I'm sure other people on the highway think we have a lot of energy.

We got to the restaurant and we stepped out of the car. Some papparazzi were here obviously because it's Nobu but the security made sure we weren't bothered.

We got seated in the restaurant and we had just ordered our food and we were debating whether to drink or no. Kiara was saying we shouldn't drink and I was saying we should. I deadpanned at Kiara and said ,'We are going to spend the day looking at art that we have no idea about shouldn't we have at least some alcohol?'

She deadpanned at me amd said ,'You want to be drunk now, how about we get drunk when we are there.'

I hmmed and said, 'I'm not against that idea.'

She smiled and said, 'Yeah besides if we go crazy drinking in here, there are some fans who are taking pictures of you to my left.'

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked to my right and she was correct. I hadn't even noticed it at all, but there was a family with two daughters and they were taking pictures of me.

I shook my head and took a sip of my water. Kiara leant forward and said, 'So.'

I put my head and she said, 'How was the proposal?'

We both sat back and I smiled and said, 'It was beautiful Kiara seriously like I'm still kind of in awe. '

I nodded and I could tell she actually cared and was genuinely happy for me so I felt comfortable to keep sharing. She folded her arms and said, 'Could you feel something big was coming or?'

I shook my head and said, 'Not at all. I mean I was clueless and the house Kiara that house.'

She smiled and said, 'It's gorgeous, I can't believe you did it in such a small amount of time too. Like you topped every single expectation I could have ever had and you improved my ideas.'

Kiara took a piece of the bread and was buttering it and she said, 'Well maybe some but your fiance, he had all the ideas some of them unreasonable but like I said he did have ideas. '

I laughed and said, 'Well that does sound like Adonis.'

She took a bite of her piece of bread and said, 'I love bread.'

I laughed and the waiter brought our food and we tucked in. My phone pinged and all the pictures and tape from last night came in. I had to choose the pictures I wanted to post and what I want in the video so I could post it before the Christmas Gala tonight.

There was some papparazzi at the entrance of the event tonight and that meant there was a high chance that one of them got a picture of my ring. I wanted to announce my engagement before any of the magazines or sites. I needed to choose and send the chosen ones back so they could be edited and the video can be put together so I can post it.

I passed my phone to Kiara and she looked up at me questioning me. I motioned for her to scroll and I said, 'I have to choose some pictures that I want to post on my instagram before tonight because once we get in front of the papparazzi they will get the picture of the ring and announce before I get to and I don't want to take my ring off tonight. '

She nodded understandily and said, 'I wouldn't want to either. Besides I would love that ex of yours to see that ring.'

I deadpanned at her and said, 'Not the point.'

She shrugged and said, 'Well it's something to look forward to. I mean I want to see his face.'

I couldn't help the smile and I said, 'Is it bad that I want to thank him?'

She looked at me as if I was crazy and I continued to explain, 'If he hadn't cheated you know things might have not worked out this way.'

She then nodded understandily and she said, 'Wow, I get that and that's an amazing point actually. I haven't thought about it like that. '

I nodded and we continued with our lunch. We had chosen the pictures and Kiara had the creative idea to use a VHS filter for the video. The video was starting with a part from my speech after the proposal during dinner when I said, 'Thank you so much guys for being here. It really means the absolute most because I would want to celebrate with my friends and I am. Now to my fiance. Wow that's the first time I've said that,'

That was the direction I had given the editors. There was the instagram video then which would have pictures of Adonis and I when he proposed after the fact when we were hugging and then a picture of my ring. The other post was pictures of us celebrating, the photographer had some really good shots of me celebrating with the guys when they were hyping me up and I had my hand up pointing at the ring with a grin on my face, Kiara and I gushing together in a hug and next to us Adonis and Kieran dapping up, Rebecca looking at the ring and Kendall looking at us and we were just staring at the ring. I wanted all those pictures on a separate post.

There was three posts one video, one with pictures of Adonis and I and then one of us celebrating with our friends.

We were now at the museum with some Starbucks coffee that we had turned Irish. We were staring at a piece of art and Kiara said, 'Well maybe it's metaphorical.'

I turned to look at her and said, 'It's different brush stokes.'

She shrugged and said, 'Maybe it's represents a dark force of the same colour paint and that's black. '

I made a sound showing I'm unsure and she said, 'I'm going to buy it, it matches Kieran's dark brooding aesthetic and I'm sure there is somewhere he can put it. '

We ended up getting tipsy and had to sober up, we had left the museum and Kiara bought the piece of art. I parked at the hotel and she got out the car and tried to carry her art. She looked really funny trying to carry this large canvas and I was laughing at her. One of the hotel attendees took the canvas and she gaped at me and said ,'How are you just going to watch me?'

I laughed and she said ,'Whatever, I'll see you tonight at the thing and I can't wait to see the posts. '

We hugged and she walked into the hotel then I drove off. I was going to Griffin's jewellery store to pick up my presents for Adonis and pay for them, he had texted me saying he was done.

I arrived at the jewellery store and I walked in. I saw Griffin and he said, 'Miss Hart.'

I smiled and he motioned for me to follow him to the back room. He put two black leather jewellery boxes on the show table that was under the lights.

He pointed and said, 'These are the Cartier. bracelets and these ones are the cuff links. '

I nodded and opened the one with the cuff links inside and I was about to speak and Griffin said in shock, 'Is that an engagement ring?'

I smiled and said, 'Yeah it is. Do you like it?'

He put on his glasses and took my hand and looked at the ring and said, 'Wow.'

He looked up at me then looked down at the ring again and said, 'Wow.'

He took off his glasses and said, 'This is very high quality ring. I'm kind of in awe and jealous of whoever made this because it's kind of flawless.'

I nodded and said, 'That would make both of us. '

I opened the jewellery box and the cuff links looked good, I opened the other box and looked at the Cartier bracelets and he had done it perfectly even. I closed the boxes and I looked at Griffin who was looking at me expectantly and I said, 'Oh you did good.'

He let put a breathe and said, 'Why do you insist on doing that every time?'

I shrugged and said, 'It's fun.'

I left and I went home where my glam team was waiting to get me ready for the Christmas Gala. As soon as I got home I posted the three posts. The video had the VHS filter like I wanted and it started with the clip I asked then it ended with Adonis and I kissing. They did good with the video like I really liked it.

For the post with Adonis, there was like seven different pictures. The first was of Adonis helping me out of the car while I was blindfolded and I was laughing and Adonis had a smile on his face. The second picture was of me in the looking around the foyer in the house and Adonis smiling whole holding the sleeping mask he used. The third picture was of me reading the art pad that was at the beginning of the proposal. The fourth picture was of me with my hands over my mouth and Adonis on one knee with the ring box open and he looked up at me expectantly. The fifth picture was of us kissing on the lips and he is carrying me with my legs up. The sixth is of me holding Adonis's hands with my head backward and I'm laughing and he was looking at me lovingly. Then the seventh one was of me looking up at Adonis lovingly. My pictures with Adonis were amazing really.

Then there was the pictures of the celebration after. The first picture of me inbetween all the guys flashing my ring finger and I'm grinning. The second one was Rebecca and I looking at the ring and Kendall talking to Adonis. The third one was Kiara and I hugged and you can see the tears in Kiara's eyes, one of Kiara and I freaking out while the guys are dapping up in the background then the last one was of all of us on the dining room table.
