C H A P T E R 4 0

Lily's POV

I had just finished a workout session with Andrew my trainor and to say I was in pain would be an understatement. I walked into the house and George said ,'Miss Lily, if you would like to take a shower, sir has set up a spa day for you in the spa room.'

I smiled and said ,'Okay, Thanks George I'll be right there.'

I had just finished getting my massage and my glam team was now here getting me ready for my date with Adonis. My stylist had mentioned that Adonis had given them a rundown on the type of date we were going on so I just had to sit back and relax.

My make up, hair and nails was all done and now it was time for the dress reveal. My stylist, Julissa had been super secretive and refused to show it to me till I was putting it on. I stood up and said, 'Okay so can I see it now?'

She nodded and zipped the clothing bag open and there was the cutest, golden short dress that had strappy's and had a puffy bottom and the shoes. The shoes were beautiful and I was in love. I turned to Julissa with my hands over my mouth and I said ,'You really overdid yourself Julissa this dress and these shoes are absolutely stunning.'

She nodded and said ,'I can't wait to see you in it.'

I took the dress and went to put on and stepped out and my glam team seemed very very happy. Julissa was quiet which was something that never happened. I looked at her expectantly and she said ,'You look amazing.'

I squealed and I hugged my whole glam team and I said ,'Thank you guys so much. '

They pulled away and I said ,'I'll see you all tomorrow.'

They nodded and started packing their accessories and cases. They had all left and I was about to walk down the stairs because George had told me that Adonis was waiting for me down stairs. I was about to start my descent on my stairs and I felt very very nervous all of a sudden. It was a bizarre that we had been dating for so long but I can still get nervous about our dates.

I took a deep breathe and started my descent to the bottom of the stairs where Adonis was standing with a single white rose in his hand, in a white shirt, black slacks with his hair styled to perfection and even a pair of formal shoes. I was in awe of how handsome and charming my boyfriend he really was an 'Adonis'.

I got to the bottom stair and he took my hand and handed me the white rose. He smiled and after a deep breathe he said ,'You look stunning Rose, absolutely gorgeous. You really never cease to knock the air right out of me.'

I felt shivers go all the way through my body and then some butterflies stopping in fanny. I looked down and I whispered a thanks. He took my chin and gave me a small peck on the lips which had me smiling like a lovestruck fool. I loved it when he kissed me very softly, it was one of my favorite things in the world he was just always so gentle.

I looked up at him and said ,'Well you look handsome Donny.'

He grinned and gave me another peck giving me another round of fanny flutters. He took my hand again and gave me a kiss on the hand and sighed then said ,'Wow.'

I smelt the white rose and he said ,'So are you ready to go?'

I put my head to the side and said ,'Oh you mean ready for this mysterious date that I am clueless about.'

He nodded and led me to the ferrari which was my favorite car of his. I took a seat in the passenger seat and he leaned on the car and said ,'Oh and one more thing, you need to put this on.'

I looked at the sleep mask and said ,'Uhm why?'

He smirked and with a wink said, 'It's a surprise.'

My heart palpitated at his smirk and I just nodded and he put the sleep mask over my eyes. I straightened the straps of my sleep mask and said, 'This better not ruin my eye make up.'

He chuckled and then shut the door and I heard his door open and close. The car started and he had one of my hands in his and was using both our hands to switch gears. We had been talking the entire way and he had me laughing a lot.

He parked the car and said ,'Okay we're here.'

Did I mention how anxious I am for this date but Adonis really distracted me during the drive here. The car door on my side opened and he put me on his back carrying me and he said ,'I just figured this was easier.'

I chuckled and said ,'No complaints here.'

We walked then he took off the sleep mask and he was dangling a set of keys in front of white double doors with a silly grin on his face. I looked at the keys then the doors and suddenly everything clicked. I let out a breathe and said ,'No way Adonis.'

He nodded and I squealed and jumped onto him and he just chuckled at me. He twirled me around and I gave him a deep long kiss. Have I mentioned how happy this man with me makes me, it's kind of unreal and I want to be with him for the rest of my life.

He put me down and said, 'Well milady are you ready for the tour?'

I grinned and said, 'Of course my good sir.'

He motioned towards the door and I opened and I gasped and said ,'Wow this is better than I imagined it to look like. '

We walked through the house pointing out our favorite areas. We had seen every single thing I had asked for from Kiara and she had made it even better. As soon as I saw that woman I was going to squeeze her to death because I loved this house it was beyond perfect and she made it better than I could have ever imagined it was small things.

I turned to Adonis and said ,'This is perfect, this is way better than I asked for and I can't believe she kept this from me. '

Adonis looked around and said ,'This is a pretty perfect house.'

I gave him small pecks and he said ,'She said there are things she put in that she is excited to show you.'

I nodded and I let out a sigh and he said ,'Are you ready to see the backyard?'

I turned to face him and he looked very tense which made me furrow my eyebrows and I said ,'Adonis, are you okay?'

He nodded and said ,'Yeah yeah yeah. Let's go.'

I followed him skeptically and he led me outside and once again I was in utter disbelief about how amazing everything about this house was. From the pool, the tennis and basketball courts, the pool house,  a massive hedge maze that had a small square gazebo at the centre of the maze I could see from here. The gazebo was a glass box that had white spruce wood used as the beams for the glass box. The gazebo had white bulbs that were lit up around the edge of the roof and it looked enchanted. The gazebo looked quite high so I think there were stairs leading into the gazebo.

I looked to the other side of the garden and there was a dock that led to a dam. The dock was made from white spruce as well just like I had told Lily I wanted. A bit of a distance away from lake there was a white spruce shed that had frosted glass doors it looked like. There was a small glass house at the centre of dam and I couldn't see what was inside so I was curious.

He looked at me and said ,'Do you want to go see the dam?'

I nodded and he said ,'Okay give me a second I'll be right back.'

I stared at the moonlight hitting the dam and I let out a breathe that was calming. I already felt very much at home here and I could tell I was going to love living here. I heard a golf cart and I turned around and Adonis was driving a golf cart. He jumoed down and helped me to the golfcart and we started driving towards the dam. We got to the dock and I stepped under the shade that was put on the dock. We walked along the dock holding hands and I said ,'This is just gorgeous.'

We got to the end of the dock and we were just staring at the water whilst I was leaning on Adonis's arm. Adonis cleared his throat and said ,'Okay so that glass house on middle of the dam was my little touch I asked for.'

I turned to face him while he talked and he said ,'Something I think is a great idea and I'm excited about. It's got a kitchen, a lounge and then the three bedrooms it's just for you know us and our kids when we want to be in a smaller house together. On the other side of the house we can't see there is a deck that has comfortable chairs and people can sit and just look at the stars with a fireplace.'

I chuckled and said ,'You sound excited .'

He nodded and said ,'Of course I am, this is the first step of our future and I can see it. '

I started welling up and I sniffled and said ,'Don't do that, you're kind of making me emotional.'

He chuckled and took my hand and squeezed it and he looked into my eyes and said ,'I really do mean it though Rose. It's just the start of my rest of my life and you are the person I want with me throughout my entire life.'

A tear rolled down my face and he swiped it and said ,'No tears, you know tears make me panic.'

I chuckled when he said that and I sniffled then calmed down. I turned to face the front again and he wrapped his arms around my waist so my back was to his front and we were just like this for a minute.We started walking back to the house while swinging our conjoined hands and he said ,'How many kids do you reckon we'll have?'

I thought for a second and said ,'Two or three or five.'

He chuckled and said ,'Five small you's I'm on board.'

I stopped and said ,'I was joking about five, you know that means I'll have to get pregnant five times. Two and maybe that's a very slight maybe for three.'

He looked at me then said ,'We'll see about that.'

I gave him a look, laughed and we continued walking till we were off the dock. With this house the vision I had for our future had become even more clearer and I was so very much ready for it.

We had gotten off the golf cart at the beginning of the maze and I turned around to see Adonis but he was gone. My eyebrows furrowed and I looked around for him but I couldn't find him. I walked a bit into the maze and there was a table with a standing art pad on it and in front of it there it was. There in Adonis's handwriting it said ,'I know I disappeared here is rose for your troubles. Now baby I'm doing to need you to follow the the path that has been laid out for you with white rose petals to the next hint. '

It was at that moment that I noticed the white rose petals on the path. I picked up my white rose and I smiled softly following the white rose petals. I arrived at another table with an art pad and it said ,'I love you Lily Rose Hart and I'm damn sure I've loved you since we were kids. '

I smiled and saw the polaroids that were on the table around the art pad of us as kids. I picked up one I had never seen before of Adonis looking at me with a smile on his face whilst I'm talking and he is standing next to me. I looked at all the other pictures and I could see all the memories we shared from when we were kids. I flipped the page of the art pad and it said, 'In case you hadn't figured this is my way of proposing to you.'

I started getting emotional already from what I'd seen so far. I flipped to next page and it said ,'Go on baby, I'm waiting for you.'

I continued to follow the white rose petals and the more I walked the more welled up I became. There was another art pad and it said, 'This is the last one. On the table you're going to see a letter from a nine year old me to a seven year old you, and I was scared to give it to you but I kept it because I guess somewhere deep inside my nine year old whipped heart I hoped that I'd someday get to give it you.'

I awwed and covered my mouth in shock at what he said. I picked up the envelope and opened it with a challenge because of my shaking hands. I opened the envelope and pulled out the letter and there in Adonis's old handwriting, the one I knew at a young age, it was the letter.

The letter said, 'Hi Rose,

I know today you were upset with me and you had every reason to be I was being mean and you didn't deserve it. Last night I overheard mum and dad and they are moving us all to London so I can go to some private school there. I know if I was telling you this you'd be telling me that that was so like me to sulk when I don't get what I want but this is important to me. I wanted us to continue being together. Even though I don't tell you this you're my best friend ever and I know one day you were going to be my girlfriend and then more in the future my wife. I know you are going to say you're too good for me but no one will ever treat you better than me and I know it because you mean so much to me and no one can ever match that and as much as you will never believe it no one will mean as much to me as I do to you. I'm going to miss you so much Rose and I want you to know I really didn't want to go I wanted to grow up here in LA with you but my dad says that this is a family tradition and he is not going to let me stay maybe in the future I'll be back. I love you Rose and I'll never forget you and I'm going to miss you so much.'

I had been crying silently whilst reading the letter and my heart was just overflowing. I filled the page on the art pad and it said ,'I put some tissue there for you too. I know I'm just the sweetest guy ever. '

I playfully rolled my eyes but I still had the smile on my face as I tried to wipe my tears. I was thankful for my glam team insisting I used all waterproof makeup so the damage wouldn't be too bad.

I flipped the page again and it said ,'You can continue on your journey now.'

I continued to follow the white rose petals and I arrived at the glass house and there with the all the glass doors open, in the small glass room on one knee was Adonis. He had obviously run his hand through his hair multiple times. With the lit up glass room and him on one knee I thought I just might pass out. I shakily went up the stairs and Adonis gave me a shaky smile and said ,'Hey baby.'

I couldn't help the smile that grew on my face as well. I walked closer to him and he let out a breathe and said ,'Lily Rose Hart, who would have thought that somehow I would get another chance to get to be with you. Since the day I saw you again everything's just been better, the work I've managed to do, and just my life in general and I know it's because of you. Because of you, I have something to look forward to and someone I know I can share everything with and I love the feeling. You are an amazing soul, very kind and you always bring me back to earth whenever I need it and with my level of arrogance I need it often. I want to have my five children with no one in this world besides you.'

At that comment I gave him a look and he said ,'We'll see about that. I want to have stupid arguments with no one but you and if I'm going to have serious ones I want them to be with you as well. I want to go on any adventure I take on in my life with you. You are my best friend, the love of my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. '

I let out a sigh with my hand to chest and he went into his pants pocket and pulled out a black velvet ring box. He popped open the box and I gasped because there in the box there was a silver band that coiled around the pearl that was off a bit to the side of the centre and right next to it was a kite shaped blue moon diamond a bit to the bottom angle of the pearl with the band curling under the diamond so the diamond is the centre of attention on the ring.

I looked at his face and he looked very anxious and he said ,'Lily Rose Hart, please make me the happiest man I could ever be and marry me?'

I didn't skip a beat and I nodded and whispered ,'Yes.'

His eyes widened and he said ,'Yes?'

I nodded and said ,'Yes I'll marry you Adonis Hamilton.'

He still seemed in awe as he slid the ring on my finger. As soon as it was on I was carried by Adonis in the air. He gave me a long and intense kiss and I was so into it but I was still shaking. He put me down and I looked down at the ring and all I could say was ,'Wow.'

I looked at Adonis and he looked to the sky and shouted ,'She said yes.'

I chuckled at how he was acting and he just smiled back at me. I looked back down at the ring and I had a flashback this pearl looked very familiar the pink and cream and white marble coloured pearl I had seen it before. I looked up at Adonis who was now standing in front of me and I said ,'Is this grandma Annie's?'

He nodded and now I wanted to cry all over again. I loved Grandma Annie's ring so much as a child, it just looked so different to all the other rings I had ever seen and I loved it for that. He wrapped his arms around me and he whispered ,'I love you so much Rose and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. '

He pulled away and wiped my tears and said ,'Do you know that?'

I sniffled with a nod and said ,'Ditto.'
