C H A P T E R 33

Adonis's POV

Today Lily and I had a couple's interview with GQ. It was my first non business related interview and Lily had been ready but I told her we should just do it. A picture of Lily wearing the promise ring I gave her whilst we were in Milan had gone crazy and now people were obsessed and going crazy. People thought it was an engagement ring and if I had done things the way I wanted, it would be. With me working on my trust I knew if I proposed it would be a no but I wanted to give her a ring and so I gave her a promise ring.

The look on her face when I gave her the promise ring was everything I could have wanted. I had to start the statement with it's not the engagement ring yet.

Lily came out of hair and make up texting viciously on her phone. I sat on the chair where one of the producers had made me sit and she came and sat on the chair next to me. I waved my hand in front of her face and said ,'Um hello Miss Hart we are kind of here for something and I still have to go to work.'

She raised her finger telling me to give her second and she kept texting. I looked at the producers and looked back at her and grabbed her phone and put it in my pants pocket. She looked at me in shock and I said ,'Yes, you aren't getting it back till we are finished.'

She pouted and I said ,'Yeah.'

We started the interview and she said ,'Hi GQ, I'm Lily Rose Hart and I'm here to find out how much my lovely boyfriend knows about me. It's the GQ Couple Quiz.'

She looked at me and narrowed her eyes and said ,'It's game day, the moment of truth.'

I chuckled lightly at her and I said ,'You're way too excited about this.'

She smiled and said ,'Yeah, because I'm not in the hot seat. Are you ready?'

I rubbed my hands and said ,'I'm ready. Let's do it.'

She laughed and said ,'Okay let's see if you know what I'm about.'

She looked at the first card and asked ,'What is the first meal I cooked for you?'

I thought back to when we were kids and said ,'Well I'm not going to count your brownies from your little oven when we were kids, that always made me sick by the way.'

She smiled with a soft laugh and I said ,'I think it was the veggie stuffed omelette.'

She looked at the producers and said ,'I'm a really bad girlfriend that was like well into our relationship too.'

I smiled very softly and I said ,'Well in her defense we ate out a lot when we started dating.'

The producers looked unsure and asked ,'Can she cook like well?'

Lily looked offended and said ,'Uhm yes, I'm a very good cook.'

I chuckled and said ,'Yeah she can cook really well too. '

Lily looked at the producer playfully and said ,'See, I can cook and he said really well too.'

She looked at the next card and said ,'How many tattoos do I have?'

I furrowed my brows and said ,'None. You are like deathly scared of needles.'

She nodded and said ,'Oh my word, I'm so scared of needles.'

I was shaking my head and said ,'It ridiculous how scared she gets of needles.'

She laughed and I just stared at her smile and then she asked ,'What's my favorite colour?'

This is one I wasn't too sure of but I just guessed from what I'd noticed and said ,'Orange.'

She gasped and stood up and came to me and said ,'Oh my word I can't believe you know that, no one knows that.'

I smiled at her because with me sitting on the chair we were now at eye level with each other. I put my arm around her waist and she gave me a peck. I looked to the producers and said ,'Maybe she should stay and sit with me on my lap.'

They laughed and she laughed then she looked at my lips and said ,'Oh oh,' and she started rubbing my lips then she said ,'I put some lipgloss on your lips.'

She finished wiping my lips and said ,'Okay there.'

She went back to her seat and said ,'Hm I don't know if you know this one. What's my favorite flavour of icecream?'

I looked at her incredulously and I said ,'Cookie dough.'

She nodded and said ,'Okay maybe you are paying more attention than I realised.'

She read the next question ,'If I wasn't a model I would be a?'

I jumped in and said ,'Chartered Accountant.'

She nodded and looked to the producers ,'He has to get one wrong because right now he's getting a bit too good and I'll never hear the end of it.'

I smirked because I was really killing it and she said ,'If I could eat one food for the rest of my life I would eat?'

I thought and said ,'I don't know probably like pizza.'

She nodded and she said ,'That is true and it is so bad, like my love for pizza is unreal and Adonis's chefs might just make the best pizza ever.'

I wanted to correct her and say our chefs but I reigned it in.

She went on and said ,'How do you know when I'm upset with you?'

I sat up and said ,'Well you just come into our bedroom and act like I'm not there.'

She shook her head and said ,'That's not true.'

I laughed and said ,'No for real, I could go stand in front of her and she'll move around me like I'm not there. It's really funny sometimes.'

She pointed at me and said ,'Did you hear his British accent kind of come out for like a second.'

I chuckled and she smiled softly and said ,'I love when he does that but anyways he got that wrong he doesn't get a point.'

She changed the card and said ,'Name three things on my bucketlist?'

I went in and said ,'To go skydiving, to go bungee jumping and I'm not sure what the last one is.'

She grinned and said ,'Okay you get two out of three points.'

I chuckled and I said ,'So what's the last one? '

She sat back and said ,'I want to climb Mount Everest or Mount Kilimanjaro.'

I furrowed my brows and said ,'Really?'

She nodded and I teased her with a straight face ,'You are aware how much work that is right.'

She rolled her eyes and said ,'Yes I'm aware.'

I put my hands up and said ,'Okay baby, I can't wait for that moment in our lives.'

She pointed at me and said ,'You're doing it with me?'

I shook my head no and said ,'I've done both mountains with Connor already. '

She looked shocked then she said ,'This is why I'm struggling making our bucketlist. Adonis has done everything like ever.'

I shook my head and said ,'I haven't done everything.'

She shook her head and said ,'He has gone swimming with dolphins and sharks, bungee jumping, skydiving, he's flown like a helicopter, a jet. He's just an overachiever.'

I leant back and said ,'That's because I love the adrenaline rush there are simple things that I haven't done.'

She looked at me for a while then said ,'What colour are my eyes?'

She closed them and I said ,'They are hazel but when she is sad or overthinking or focussing really hard they turn more green than brown in their hazel colour and when she's happy their just like a perfect balance of both green and brown and then when she is upset they are almost chocolate brown. Personally they are one of my favorite physical features on her.'

She looked completely shocked by what I had said she looked down shyly and said ,'Saying hazel would have been fine.'

I grinned at how shy she was being and looked at the camera and winked.

She looked up and said ,'Who inspired me to model?'

I rolled my eyes because I knew the answer to this question. Rose would go with my mum when she was modelling and used to practise modelling with my mum. They had always bonded over that when we were still in America. Rose would go as far as to force me to be her male counterpart when she would have fake fashion shows. When she got new clothes we would have fashion shows at our play dates so you can imagine how often we were having fashion shows.

I shrugged and said ,'My mum right?'

She nodded and said ,'Yeah, I loved watching Adonis's mum modelling but I forced Adonis to come with me because I didn't want to go alone and he would sulk the entire time.'

I looked at her and said ,'Yeah, I was a lost puppy in love and would do anything she asked.'

She gaped at me and said ,'Was?'

I lowly chuckled at her and she said ,'He said was.'

I smiled watching her, she was natural in front of the camera she was comfortable. I was trying to distract myself from the fact that I was in front of the camera by watching her.

She pursed her lips and said ,'In what year was my first ever runway show?'

I furrowed my brows and said ,'I'm going to guess you were sixteen so that's 2014.'

She nodded and said ,'Yeah that's actually exactly when.'

I hummed and said ,'When did I complete ny first ever business sale?'

She thought for a while and said ,'I don't know the age but I know you sold one of your ideas.'

I nodded and said ,'Yeah.'

She pointed at me and said ,'This is me asking you questions not you asking me.'

I looked into the camera and said ,'Guess we need to come back so I can ask her questions.'

She smiled lovingly at me and went onto the next question and said ,'Where did I go to University?'

I looked bored and said ,'Come on, you went to Yale.'

She gave me a nod and then said ,'What's my favorite candy?'

I thought for a moment then remembered when we were watching the football game and I said ,'It's liquorice.'

She shook her head no and said ,'I like liquorice but I wouldn't say it's my favourite.'

I leaned back and said ,'Yeah I wasn't too sure, so baby what's your favourite candy?'

She gave me a look and said ,'I have it that candy everywhere even your car and office Adonis.'

I thought and I tried to imagine then I remembered. I slapped my forehead and said ,'Sour patch kids.'

She smiled and said ,'Exactly.'

I looked at her and said ,'Damn, how did I not think of them. You literally  throw a wobbly if you don't have them.'

She looked at the producers and said ,'Do you hear more of his British side popping out.'

I hadn't even realised that I had used a British term. I used British terms very rarely like really rarely but sometimes it comes out and Rose gets a real kick out of it and she says she finds it attractive.

She turned back to face me and said ,'Anyways, I do not.'

I gave her a look and she said ,'Maybe a little  fit.'

I chuckled at her and she said ,'The final question is,' and she paused for dramatic effect.

I leaned in to play along and she said ,'When and where was our first date?'

I pretended to think and said ,'I was eleven and you were nine at that pancake restaurant that used to be in Seychelles when we took that joint family vacation. '

She nodded then said ,'Wait is the restaurant gone?'

I nodded and she frowned and said ,'I wanted us to go back there, that is actually so upsetting.'

She stood up and came and sat on my lap and I smiled at her.

She looked up at me with a cheeky smile and said ,'Are you ready to see your score baby?'

I nodded and she put her palm out like the producers had told her to. She pulled away from my chest and said ,'You did amazing baby, like you did scarily amazing.'

I gave her a short and sweet kiss and she said ,'Thank you guys for watching our Couples Quiz with GQ.'

She blew a kiss at the camera and the director yelled ,'Cut.'

I was at lunch with Lily and she was still a bit down about the restaurant being gone I assume. At the interview she had played it off nicely but now she was a bit quiet.

I took her hand over the table and said ,'I'm really sorry about the restaurant baby.'

She laughed at me and said, 'I'm not upset by anything Donny.'

I narrowed and said ,'And I should believe you?'

She nodded and said ,'Uhm yeah.'

She was getting cheeky so maybe she was not upset because when Rose is upset she will not play with you.

I put my hands up and said ,'Okay, so why are you quiet?'

She sighed and said ,'I love you more everyday Adonis and that's never a good sign, I just don't know how to feel right now, it's scary.'

I squeezed her hands and said ,'Baby I'm falling more in love you every hour of everyday. There are times I think I can't possibly fall more and I do because it's you When I'm not with you I'm thinking about you. I can't make any plans without thinking about you and the thought of us not working out or something breaking us is a thought I will not entertain. I love you

too fucking much for that.'

She had tears streaming down her face and I went to sit next to her on her side of the booth. I gave her a bear hug which she had her face her face in my neck and then we kissed for a long time.

Our make out session had ended and we had been watching a couple argue about cheating. The man tried to deny so many times then unexpectedly the lady brought out some pictures. The lady had kept a straight face all along but now she was full on scowling and Rose said ,'That isn't going to end well for him.'

I hummed in agreement because it didn't seem like it, at this point the lady wanted a confession and the fact that she was not getting one was upsetting her at an exponential rate.

We burst out laughing again but it was getting hard to watch because the lady was getting angrier and at this point the man was digging himself deeper into his grave.

We were now playing with each others fingers and she was telling me about their Thanksgiving tradition.

She had almost beat me in thumb war and I was fighting against it. She sighed and said ,'Well we all pick a location from a hat and then the location which is picked the most will win and that's where we spend Thanksgiving.'

I nodded and said, 'Do you want to go?'

She took a while to answer and she said ,'Well no but it's family time, I can just avoid my mum.'

I nodded understandably and said ,'We can live at our own place so you get a break.'

She was about to speak when Damien came and stood at our table. I decided to ignore him and said ,'A hotel won't be any fun when it's Thanksgiving right?'

She shook her head and said ,'Yeah we'll need like a villa or something.'

I nodded and said ,'Annaliese will probably be coming.'

She nodded and said ,'That means Ronald because you know his parents aren't present .'

I nodded not that I would ever say it out loud but I think Ronald is okay. He was whipped and I saw it when we were shopping Anneliese had him wearing matching hoodies. Anne could say jump off this cliff and he would but he was reasonable as well, when Anneliese was buying what she didn't need he would reason with her. He was clueless about clothes though and so Rose was helping both of us really.

Damien went on and said, 'Lily, do you mind if I have a chat with you.'

My jaw clenched in anger because the guy just really irked me. He cheated on Lily Rose and he just will not let her move on and it's really irritating.
