C H A P T E R 31

Lily's POV

Tonight I was flying to Milan with Anne because I had a fashion show I was taking part in in Italy. We were packed and ready to go Ben my driver had packed our bags into the car.

Adonis was in his office and I was going to say goodbye but I could hear him shouting at someone. I stood by the door and he shouted ,'Fucking Josie followed Rose today, do you understand the fuck what I'm saying?'

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach at what I just heard. I opened the door and his eyes met mine in shock. He ended the call and started walking towards me and I said ,'What did you just say?'

His face turned emotionless and he said ,'Josie was found following you this morning when you went out for breakfast.'

I narrowed my eyes at him and said ,'And was I going to be told?'

He took a seat on his office chair and said ,'No, because it was handled.'

I gaped at him in shock and said ,'How long has this been going on?'

He replied still with a straight face and said ,'She had been being a nuisance towards me so I got restraining orders for the three of us and got more security.'

I closed my eyes in attempt to calm down and I did on the outside but on the inside I was just bubbling over in anger and said ,'Okay Adonis, I'm going to level with you. Something was going on with that apparently psycho ex of yours and you decided not to tell me correct?'

He was about to argue and I objected and said ,'I'm going to need a yes or no answer only.'

He sighed and said ,'That is correct.'

I nodded then said ,'She was bothering you you decided not to tell me then she became a threat towards me and you still decided not to tell me?'

I took a deep breathe and continued ,'For whatever twisted reason you thought it was okay to keep this a secret I will never know. From what I've seen about your character you were never going to tell me right? '

He got up and came round to stand in front of me and calmly said ,'I was going to tell you.'

I scoffed and said ,'Really, when? Would it be when I was in hospital because maybe she got past your security and managed to hurt me somehow.'

He whispered ,'I would never let that happen.'

I sighed and I said ,'First you take me to her wedding and don't think to give me a heads up about her, drink yourself silly because of her. You withheld that information from me not regarding the fact that maybe I should know about this then you do it again. You are being bothered and I am in danger and you decide to withhold that information from me again. It's just scary to me that when something important is happening I can't count on you telling me even when it's concerning me. Who knows what I don't know who knows because maybe I just haven't caught you.'

I took another deep breathe and in a low voice said ,'I can't marry you not when you don't trust me.'

He stopped me and said ,'Rose, I do trust you more than anyone.'

I looked into his eyes and whispered ,'Then how come you didn't tell me? Forget the first time, just this time.'

When he didn't reply I said ,'I can't marry you Adonis because I can never see myself living like this where I'm not sure what might come out next.'

I picked up my handbag that I had dropped when I came into his office the same time. I looked at him with a blank face and said, 'Anneliese and I are leaving now.'

I walked out and slammed the door. I stood outside his door for a few seconds as tears just rolled down my face. I heard a crashing sound come from the office and I wiped my face and put on a smile and went downstairs.

Anne was sitting on the sofa in the foyer on her phone and I said ,'Hey, you ready to go?'

She looked at me with smile but her face dropped and she said ,'Yeah, but what happened to you?'

I waved her off and said ,'It's nothing let's go.'

We got into the car and she squealed and said ,'This is my first fashion week ever. I'm super excited.'

I couldn't help the laugh that came out of me even though I'm really upset. I'm going to forget my frustrations with Adonis and have an amazing weekend with Anne.

Anne and I landed in Milan last night with both of us not hungry so we both retired to our rooms. I had my final practice before tonight in an hour and so I was ready to leave for it. I had trudged over to wake Anne up to come with but she said it was way too early so she was going to stay and sleep then leave with me later.

I arrived at the place where the fashion show was happening and I was being put into my outfit. Nicole walked in and looked at me with a sad look. I turned away and looked down at my phone.

It was now my turn to practice and I did my practice round three times till I was sure exactly what I was doing and where I was planning on stopping and posing, I was a perfectionist in that way. I know where the cameras were so I knew the direction to wink into and do most of the dramatic stuff in.

I had two outfits one of them was a serious outfit and the other one was more playful. I always loved doing the playful outfits because you could goof around more but with the serious ones I loved how badass you would come out looking.

I was now sitting with Anne backstage and I was getting my makeup done. She was on a call with Ronald and it was honestly the cutest thing on the face of the earth. I had been texting Ben and he was trying to get us the girls to make up because apparently Jane was scared to message me so she wasn't going to.

I had my airpods in and I was listening to music when someone tapped me. I turned around and looked and it was Nicole. I took out one airpod and said ,'Uhm hey Nicole.'

She smiled and said ,'Hey Lily. You look gorgeous.'

I smiled and said ,'You do too as always.'

She gave a small chuckle and said ,'I'm really sorry about what happened last weekend. To be honest we were scared you're our best friend and we didn't want to lose you. '

I looked at her and said ,'Nicole you guys have been my best friends for like ever. Kelly and Gina are my close friends now too but you guys will always be my friends.'

I gave her a hug and she said ,'I'm so sorry we got really jealous.'

I smiled and said ,'It's forgotten, it's been forgotten you know I could never stay angry at you guys.'

She let go and wiped her tears and said ,'Okay I have to go,  I kind of snuck away. '

I laughed at her and put my airpod back in to calm my nerves. Anne taped me and said ,'Okay I'm going to sit in the audience now.'

I smiled at her and waved at her. It was almost time and we were lined up. Nicole sighed and said ,'Isn't it crazy how the nerves never go away.'

I nodded and said ,'It's so unreal.'

It was Nicole's turn and she went and did her thing. Nicole transformed on the runway it was insane. It was almost my turn now, I had the last of the serious outfits.

The director motioned for me to go and I started strutting down the runway with my face completely straight. I made sure my leg was accentuating the slit.

Ever since I had been with Adonis I had been as fit as ever. My body might be at it's best right now because we work out a lot together and working out is actually fun.

Adonis had hurt my feelings so much, it was just scary to me how he just doesn't tell me things. It seems dramatic now but when I think about it he knows a lot about me, he knows when I'm hurt he knows what makes me sad but with him it's like I know nothing.   The other thing that hurt me was it was not like it was his secret but it was concerning me and he still didn't tell me and the icing on the cake is that it was about Josie again.

I got to the end of the end of the runway and  did a little pose and walked back up the runway. I got backstage and I was already being rushed into the changing rooms and the makeup again. The director came in and said ,'You're almost on.'

I was finishing the show off and I jumped off the chair and ran in my heels backstage. I stood and waited for the last two to go and the director nodded at me and said ,'Really make it last long.'

I nodded and took a step outside and with a bright smile on my face walked down the runway. I found Anne and much to my shock Adonis was standing next to her applauding me. I played it cool and gave them a wave that went with what I was doing. I got to the end of runway and looked into the camera blowing kisses then I gave a laugh. I started walking back and winked at Anne and she was so happy.

I ended and the designer hugged me and said ,'You are good, I want you next time as well.'

We walked out together since I had been the main model and the designer took a bow and I applauded him. He turned in my direction and did a few bows which made me laugh and we walked back backstage.

I smiled at him and he said ,'Thank you Lily. I am definitely seeing you next time.'

I smiled wider and said ,'It was an honour to model your clothes.'

He smiled and waved as he went onto the stage. I could hear the applause still and I went to get changed into my after party outfit.

Nicole and I were just updating each other on life sitting in my dressing room. She took out her phone and we posed for a boomerang.

I didn't tell her about the whole Adonis thing because we hadn't gotten the time. She had been telling me about how Connor and Ben got really wasted at Adonis's party.

I heard a knock on my door and I said come in. Jenny walked in and after her was Anne then Adonis. Anne came and hugged me and said ,'Gosh Lily you looked great and you just did amazing.'

I chuckled at her reaction and said ,'Thanks Anne. I'm going to go ahead and guess you enjoyed it.'

She laughed and said ,'Most definitely.'

I pulled away and Adonis gave me a bouquet of lillies and said ,'You look and looked amazing.'

Anne added in and said ,'He isn't kidding, I had to nudge him back to a couple of times.'

I laughed at Anne and she introduced herself to Nicole and they were now having a conversation. I turned to Jenny and she raised her eyebrows at how I was acting with Adonis. I gave her a look and she laughed at me. I then said ,'Uhm are you flying home tonight?'

She nodded and said ,'Yeah I have to.'

I frowned with a pout and said ,'Thank you for coming to be with me.'

She hugged me and said ,'Of course.'

She waved at me and left after giving Adonis a dirty eye. I turned to Adonis and said ,'When did you get here?'

He put his hands in his pockets and said ,'I landed a few hours ago.'

I nodded and he said ,'It didn't feel right leaving you upset with me for a long time like that.'

I sighed and he continued ,'I would have been here but my pilot wasn't able to get me here soon enough.'

I looked up at him and said ,'I'm literally at work Adonis and this is not the appropriate time for us to sort this out don't you think?'

He nodded and said ,'I know I just couldn't resist. I'm sorry.

I nodded and said ,'It's okay, don't worry about it.'

Nicole looked at me and said ,'We need to go for the red carpet.'

I nodded and looked at Anne and Adonis and said ,'Are you guys coming?'

Anne smiled and said ,'Uhm of course duh.'

I laughed and we went to the red carpet. I had to walk onto the carpet alone first and take my pictures.

I then took pictures with Anne and she was very much holding her own. Now it was time for Adonis and I and the photographers went crazy.

I put my hand on his shoulder and faced forward and smiled. From the corner of my eye I could see that he wasn't smiling he was scheming really. He put his arm around me and I turned to look at him and he was already looking at me.

I looked into his eyes and I knew what he was saying, he was apologising. I put my head into his chest and the photographers were still going insane. We walked off of the carpet and I turned to Adonis and Anne and I said ,'I usually don't stay but if you guys want to that's okay.'

Anne shook her head and said, 'I was hoping we were going to go out for dinner now.'

I laughed and I said ,'We can do that.'

Nicole stepped off the carpet and I said ,'We are going for dinner.'

She nodded and said ,'I'm getting onto a jet in two hours.'

I have her a hug and we said our goodbyes and went into our different cars.
