C H A P T E R 29

Adonis's POV

I opened my eyes and saw Rose stepping out of the walk in closet. She was wearing an orange bikini top with white sweat shorts and some birkenstocks. She was putting her hair up in a bun and hadn't noticed me watching her yet. He made a low groaning sound in frustration and I smiled at how she wanted the bun to be a perfect messy bun.

I was now leaning on my elbows watching her try over and over and when she was finally satisfied she turned and saw me watching. She smiled and I couldn't help get lost in her eyes that were sparkling with joy.

She came and stood by the bed and said ,'Good morning birthday boy.'

I lazily grinned at her and leaned in so she could give me a kiss. She gave me a playful look and gave me the peck. I smiled and she pulled away and said ,'You need to get up so we can go to the villa for breakfast.'

I raised my eyebrows she waved her hand and said ,'I'll tell you everything but for now I'm starving so go shower so I can get some food. '

I stood up and put my hands on her waist and I said ,'Okay baby.'

I wanted to move away but I decided to just stand there and stare at her for awhile. She moved my hands from her waist and said ,'I'm going to get out of here so you can get started.'

I laughed as she walked out, I smiled at her retreating back because I felt so light just in that moment. I was not thinking about anything but her and myself and just how I loved her. Last night I just could not keep it in anymore and I let it out that I loved her and she said it back. I just thought it was the perfect moment for me to say it, I could see that she had been shocked when I said it and when she said it back I felt relief flow through me.

My phone pinged and I picked it up from the bedside table it was on and as if she senses my joy it was an instagram direct message from Josie. Josie had been proving herself to be a problem ever since the meeting. She had turned up to three different places where I had meetings in the past week. She went as far to follow me into the bathroom when I was having a meeting at a restaurant. I never gave her time to speak and I always made sure I got out of there. I had not told Rose about Josie stalking me because before I left for this trip I had taken all necessary measures, I got a restraining order on her for Rose and I and I added bodyguards.

Rose was going to notice something was going on when she notices how big her security team had become. I was just planning to enjoy this little getaway and handle everything else when we got back.

I blocked and reported Josie and I felt a pillow hit me and saw Rose's retreating back. She turned to me with narrowed eyes and said ,'I'm hungry Adonis. Hurry up or I'm leaving without you.'

I laughed at her and she huffed and walked back out of the room. I laughed at how serious she was about eating right now.

She shouted back, 'I'm serious.'

I jumped into the shower and got ready. I ran down the stairs in my black beach shorts, a black dad cap backwards with slides. I was not wearing a shirt because we are on an island so I might as well be ready to swim at any time.

I skipped down the stairs and Lily was sitting on a bar stool in the kitchen on her phone. She looked at me and jumped up and said ,'You're done. Let's go.'

We walked into a door which I'm sure was not the front door and we got onto some hoverboards.

We were riding the hoverboards and I said ,'So tell me about your island.'

We were riding side by side so I took her hand and we kept going. She started talking and said ,'Well this is the private island I got from my grandfather before he passed away. We try and keep the island as protective of the environment as we can so like we use solar and wind energy. There are no cars and stuff, the three cars I have here are electrical cars.'

I hummed and looked around because it was a gorgeous island. I looked at her and she was glowing as hell, she caught me staring and I said ,'And the villa?'

She started swinging our arms and said ,'Like a year ago my mum threw a massive party for my dad's birthday and she had it here. She built the villa to accomodate the guests here and she was going to demolish it after but I decided that she might as well leave it and that's basically the island.'

We arrived at the villa and as soon as we stepped in whilst I carried both our hoverboards people started singing happy birthday to me. I watched as they were singing I looked down at Lily who was standing at my side facing me singing happy birthday too.

They stopped singing and I hugged Lily and she looked up at me and said ,'Okay, you handle these people I'll get your breakfast for you and meet you at a table.'

I wanted to make her stay with me but I decided against it and said ,'Okay.'

She gave me a peck and slipped away from me as I started dapping up and hugging people who were coming and saying happy birthday.

Connor came up to me and dapped me up and said ,'Happy Birthday man.'

I smiled and nodded at him. I dapped up the rest of the people and said thank you. I was now walking with Kevin because I had noticed that Rose was sitting with Gina, Brandon and Kelly.

Kevin said ,'It's been so long, had you forgotten about me?'

I laughed and said ,'No, it's just you've been busy winning superbowls so I try not to disturb you.'

Kevin laughed and said ,'Oh please.'

I laughed as well and said ,'No seriously man, look at you. Next time you have a speech I expect to get credit for all your talent.'

Kevin bursted out laughing again and I saw Connor waving me over. I pointed towards the table where Rose was sitting and they all turned to look at her. She on the other hand was laughing so hard at something that happened at the table, infact everyone was cracking up.

Kevin hummed and when we got to the table he asked ,'What are we laughing at?'

Gina leaned onto Kevin and said ,'We are actually laughing at you.'

Kevin looked confused and Brandon passed him a phone and I looked as well and well Kevin was really drunk last night apparently. Kevin looked up in shock and said ,'Okay,who recorded this?'

Rose grabbed the phone and put it in her pocket and so the answer would be her. I took a fry from her plate and sat back because I knew there was a big fight about to happen.

Kevin laughed and said ,'Lily let's see.'

Gina put her hand up and said ,'No Lily he wants to delete it.'

Rose took the phone out of her back pocket and waved it in the air. Kevin narrowed his eyes and tried to reach for it but before he could the phone flew to Gina who took off running. Kevin groaned, got up and said ,'Fine let's play.'

He took off his flip flops and took off after Gina. Kelly shouted, 'Gina he's coming.'

She looked back and picked up her speed. Kelly and Rose looked at each other and simulataneously said ,'We have to go help her.'

People were laughing at Kevin who was chasing Gina on the beach outside the villa. The girls were now on the beach and literally playing keep away with the phone and he was just trying to get the phone. Brandon slapped my back and said ,'We got to go help him man.'

I chuckled and got up and we started heading towards the girls and Kevin. Kelly was waving the phone above her head and Brandon snatched it from behind. She gasped literally jumped on Brandon's back trying to get the phone back.

Before I knew it we were all running around chasing each other around trying to either get the phone or keep the phone away. The girls were playing really dirty and so we were getting our asses handed to us right now.

It started when Gina pretended to sprain her ankle and Kevin of course ran to her aid and she grabbed the phone from him and threw it at Rose who was fast. There was a time I was chasing her then I caught her and she did not even have the phone but Kelly was just standing whilst holding it.

After a while of chasing each other around we were now sitting on the sand in our couples just laughing at Kevin who was still upset with Rose. Rose had sent a copy to Gina so there was no getting rid of it.

Adonis looked down at Rose who was lying on his lap and Rose was looking at her friends, she was frowning though. I bounced my thigh and said ,'What's up?'

She looked up at me and said ,'I just smiled at Jane and Nicole and they just looked away.'

I furrowed my brows and said ,'What, really.'

She nodded and I said ,'Are you guys good?'

She looked thoughtful and said ,'Well we were good the last time I saw them last night at the photobooth.'

I really hope Jane and Nicole weren't upset because she was hanging around me and some of my friends. I looked at her and said ,'Maybe they want to hang out with you.'

She looked back at the ocean and said ,'I'm here for your birthday and I'm spending it with you.'

I flicked her nose and said ,'You can hang out with them, I don't mind.'

She shook her head and said ,'No I want to spend the day with you. When do we ever just have time to hang out together, I travel a lot and you have work.'

I nodded and said ,'Okay how about we both go hang out with them. '

She looked into my eyes and said ,'Adonis, I know you haven't seen these guys in awhile let's just hang out and have fun.'

She paused and stood up and excitedly and said ,'It's your birthday Adonis we are going to have a great time, so get up and get hype with me.'

I smiled at her because she looked adorably excited right now. She put her head to the side and said ,'Are you going to get hype with me or no?'

I smiled and stood up but slowly and she was literally bouncing on her toes. As soon as I was up she said ,'Come on baby, are you hype?'

I nodded and she put her hand on her hip and said ,'I'm going to need more that that.'

I shouted ,'I'm hype baby. Let's do it.'

Brandon and Kevin were up too and shouted ,'Let's go.'

Kelly and Gina laughed and we decided we were going to get ready for jetskiing then meet up and go together.

We were racing on the hoverboards and she was behind me, chasing me. We got into the driveway and I saw Jane and Nicole standing at the door. I got off the hoverboard and waited for Rose to get to me. Rose hadn't seen them yet and came and stopped in front of me. She got off the hoverboard and said ,'I can't believe you beat me, I could've sworn I had this race in the bag.'

She must've noticed them standing behind me because her smile vanished and she now had a business smile on. I picked up both our hoverboards, pecked her on the cheek and I said ,'I'll see you inside.'
