C H A P T E R 16

Adonis's POV

It had been four days since Rose has been in Cancun. I haven't been completely into my work as I usually am, all I could think about was fixing things with Rose. I was scared that the longer I took to fix things the smaller chance I had to be with her. I consider Rose my soulmate , there was a time I might have thought that I could marry Josie but Rose was the first one.

When we were kids, I had always told myself I was going to marry Rose. I remember a time when girls would come to my house for playdates or school projects and they would be threatened by Rose even though she was younger. Rose was always at my house because we hung out almost all the time and almost everyday.

I heard my office door open and I looked up and saw Connor and Ben. I furrowed my brows in a questioning manner at them as they walked in. They sat in front of my desk and Connor said ,'What up man?'

I shrugged and said ,'Well I've just been working. What's up with you guys?'

Ben sat up and said ,'Well we think that we should go and join the girl's on their trip amd we are here to invite you to tag along.'

I raised my eyebrow and said ,'You want to crash their girl's trip?'

Connor waved his hands and said ,'Look man my girlfriend is in Cancun and I want to be there with her because I miss her like crazy.'

Ben nodded and said ,'He's right man. You won't be able to fix what you have with Lily if you try run away from it.'

My eyes widened as Ben spoke because I didn't know he knew.

He shrugged and said ,'That's my best friend man, I know everything and what I also know is I'm here to be polite not having you there doesn't matter to me. '

Connor looked at me and said ,'Whoa, why don't I know about this?'

I shrugged and said ,' There was a thing at Josie's wedding.'

Ben scoffed and said ,'A thing.'

I added and said ,'Making a long story short, she thinks I'm still in love with Josie.'

Connor started laughing and said ,'Man you're a dumbass. Let's go.'

I got up and I called Norman and he walked into my office. I packed my laptop and said ,'Norman I'm taking a vacation and only send me really important meetings and I'll handle those but that's all and you can work from home. I'll need Zach to handle everything else.'

Norman nodded and wrote everything down. I thought and then said ,'I'm also going to need you to get the private jet ready to take off for Cancun in three hours.'

Norman nodded and said ,'Yes sir have a good vacation.'

Ben groaned and walked out after saying ,'Took you long enough to agree.'

Connor whistled and said ,'Wow, he does not like you.'

I sighed and said ,'He made that super clear.'

Connor got up and said ,'Well we better go pack. I cannot wait to see my babygirl.'

I made my eyebrows dance and said ,'You really like her, don't you?'

Connor shrugged and said ,'No man, I love her already but I haven't told her yet so don't let it slip.'

I raised my hands in surrender and said ,'You have my word.'

We walked out and I got home and packed everything for Cancun. I went into my home office and opened my safe and took out the box I had been hiding in here. I packed the ring I had bought for Rose, if everything went as planned I wanted to propose whilst we were in Cancun, no more pulling punches.

We landed in Cancun and Connor had rented a car so we all jumped in. Ben was the only one who knew where Rose's sanctuary was.

Ben started and said ,'Have you guys seen what they've been up to?'

Connor nodded and said ,'Yeah. Shopping, clubbing, going to the beach, going on yachts, going to spas, doing city tours, they are like doung the vacation thing right. So the question is what haven't they been doing.'

I had seen the stuff the girls were doing on Rose's instagram story. They were really on vacation and doing it right. I hope that when we get there Rose will be okay with me tagging along because I was definitely tagging along. They really knew how to vacation.

We got to Rose's villa and I was impressed it was really white and clean looking. It had a lot of glass walls and it was by the beach. We had been let in by the butler there who knew Ben. The inside of the house had white like everything too from the couches to the stools, it was designed like a house I would like to vacation in. Ben led us to the rooms that the girls used when on vacation here and I walked into Rose's room. She was a neat freak even on vacation, she had packed all her clothes and shoes into her closet.

I could hear Rose speaking to Connor and Ben I assume. She said ,'You guys want me to fifth wheel.'

I heard her walking towards the room and I got nervous. I stood at the foot of the bed frozen just looking at the door. She opened the door and her mouth fell open when she saw me but my mouth fell open too.

Rose looked amazing in a simple running outfit so I'm assuming they were coming from a morning run. She was glistening in sweat and she had strands of her hair falling all over her face and she was holding a water bottle. It kind of looked like she had jumped out of a nike advertisement.

She looked at me in shock and said ,'Uhm you're here too.'

I nodded and said ,'Yes and you were on a morning run.'

She nodded and came to sit on the bed. I took a seat next to her and said ,'Look can we talk?'

She nodded and took a sip of her water and I said ,'I don't love Josie. All I meant when I said what I said that night is exactly that nothing more. As to my drinking she caused me a lot of pain and is a source of a lot of my trauma when it comes to relationships. She pretended to love me and wanted to use me for my money and I caught her cheating.'

I looked at Rose briefly and she was listening intensely to me speaking.

I finished with ,'I don't love Josie Rose, I need you to believe me.'

She held my hands in hers and started with ,'Firstly you'regoing to need to stop saying her name in front of me.'

I nodded then she said,'I do believe you Adonis and it's okay.'

I shook my head and said ,'No its not okay and I need to apologise. I'm sorry for making it seem like I love her. I'm sorry for not giving you a heads up on the situation. Finally I'm sorry for embarassing you in any way I did. '

She gave me a hug and whispered in my ear ,'It's okay and I'm sorry for overreacting.'

I put her face in my hands and started kissing her. At first the kissing was soft as if telling each other something then the kiss became more intense and I could feel the heat in the room. I pulled away and started kissing her all over her face and her neck and she giggled.

She giggled and said ,'Stop Adonis, I'm sweaty and that's ticklish.'

We started playing around with trying to get away and me trying to kiss her all over her face. We sort of rolled around in the bed and now she was on top of me and she was laughing. I stopped moving and just stared at her , her cheeks were slightly pink and even more hair had fallen out of her half up half down hairstyle, she was laughing and her eyes looked happy.

She smiled and said, 'You're staring. '

I nodded and said, 'If you were seeing what I am seeing right now trust me you would be too.'

She blushed and looked away then said ,'Okay no.'

I laughed at her reaction and she got up from me and went into the bathroom. I heard the shower and I just lied on my back with a playful grin on my face.

I heard the bathroom door open and she walked out in a robe and went into the walk in closet. I walked into the bathroom and took a shower too. After I finished showering I walked into the bedroom and the door to the walk in closet was still closed. I shook my head and smiled at how long she can take sometimes. I took a pair of beach shorts and walked back into the bathroom and changed.

I opened the bathroom door and I had to lean on the door and just watched her. She was texting something on her phone but she looked gorgeous.

I cleared my throat and she dropped her phone. She turned and when she saw it was me she glared at me and I just grinned at her.

I went and sat on the bed and said ,'So what are we doing?'

She looked at me and said, 'Well I'm going to the beach.'

I rolled my eyes at her and said ,'Okay let's go.'

I knew today I wouldn't be able to hold back for much longer.

We were all at the beach and Connor, Nicole, Jane and Ben were playing beach volleyball and I was refereeing. Rose was sitting on a beach chair reading a book.

Connor and Nicole were practically killing Jane and Ben but these guys were looking so cute. I looked back at Rose and saw a guy talking to her. I watched them and he was obviously flirting but I couldn't tell how she was feeling.

I heard Connor say ,'Just go there man. You haven't been paying attention we can handle this here.'

Did I mention that the girls haven't spoken to me since I got here. I guess they are still upset with me because of what I did.

I nodded at him and walked towards Rose and heard the guy chuckle. I sat on my beach chair which was the one which was next to hers. She looked at me and gave me wide smile, the guy looked at me and said ,'Hey man.'

I gave him a look and just as I was about to answer Rose said ,'This is my boyfriend, Adonis.'

The guy looked at her then me then her again. He cleared his throat and said ,'Oh okay. It was a pleasure meeting you Lily, like I said I'm a fan. Do you mind if I take a picture with you?'

I don't know why but I cut in and said ,'No man she's good.'

Lily looked at me and playfully rolled her eyes but didn't argue none the less.

The guy looked at me and said ,'No disrespect dude but I asked her.'

I straightened up and Rose put her hand on my chest and said ,'Look Sam, I don't think I'm comfortable but it's always nice to meet a fan.'

The guy looked at me and nodded then walked away. When he left I pulled Rose onto my laps and kissed her on the neck and said ,'Thank you baby.'

She leaned into me and said ,'Yeah that's okay. Besides you look hot when you're jealous.'

She straddled me and I said ,'Look I wanted to take you out for dinner tonight. '

She smiled and said ,'Oh really?'

I grinned and said ,'Yeah I hope you will go out with me.'

She shrugged and said ,'Sure.'

She got off me and got back onto her own chair.

She left me a little excited and now I had to handle it. I got up and said ,'I'm going swimming, you coming?'

I pulled her up and said ,'Come on baby, just a dip.'

She was about to refuse but I picked her up and took off towards the ocean running and she was screaming.
