C H A P T E R 12

Lily's POV

Today I was going on a daily show that was scheduled and I was already sitting in my dressing room. I was a bit anxious and on high alert because they scare people a lot. I was getting my make up done and Jenny was telling me about how she was planning a trip for her and John for their anniversary. They are super cute and they've been together for a long time. They were going next week and they were going to the Bahamas.

I was standing backstage waiting to be called out by Ellen. I heard Ellen say my name and the applause that followed and I did a little run walk with a smile on my face and I was waving at the crowd. I got to Ellen and gave her a hug and then she motioned for me to sit on the seat.

I took a seat and Ellen said ,'Hey Lily.'

I smiled and said ,'Hey Ellen, how are you?'

She smiled and said ,'I'm good how are you?'

I sighed and said ,'I'm great really.'

She smiled and said ,'You look great.'

I gave her a smile and whispered a thank you.

She turned to the crowd and said ,'This is Lily Hart, which I'm sure most of you know.'

I smiled and waved at the crowd and they gave me applause.

Ellen turned back to me and said ,'Well Lily, I last saw you was over half a year ago at a party. '

I nodded and she continued and said, 'Since then you've become even bigger than you were then.'

I smiled shyly and with a sigh said ,'Yeah it's been quite crazy if I'm honest.'

Ellen nodded and said ,'Well we can tell, you're everywhere nowadays.'

I laughed and Ellen pulled out the W magazine I was on the cover of.

I looked at Ellen and said ,'Can I see?'

Ellen raised her eyebrow and said, 'You haven't seen it yet?'

I shook my head no and she gave it to me and I looked at it. I handed it back to her and she laughed at me and said ,'Do you like it?'

I nodded and she turned to the audience and said ,'Lily is on the cover of the W magazine.'

The audience applauded and I smiled and she said ,'I found out a lot about you in this article.'

I looked at her and said ,'Oh really, I always thought my life was an open book.'

Ellen replied and said ,'Well it's not. Like I didn't know you've been working with Unicef for years now since you were fourteen actually.'

I nodded and said ,'Oh yeah, it's always nice to give a bit of yourself to others you know and you wouldn't believe how much the kids I've met have taught me.'

Ellen nodded and said, 'That's amazing. It's great what you've been doing with the organisation.'

I smiled and said ,'Thank you Ellen.'

She nodded and said ,'Now onto your relationship status.'

I laughed and said ,'Really Ellen.'

She chuckled and said ,'Oh yeah let's clear everything up in a safe space. I saw your instagram story.'

I nodded and said ,'Oh that.'

She gave me a look and said ,'Yeah that.'

She continued and said ,'Who is that?'

I gave her a look and shrugged. Ellen kept looking at me in hopes I would crack but I wasn't too sure if Adonis wanted his name like out there.

She gave up and said ,'Fine but you're seeing someone am I right?'

I raised my eyebrows and said ,'I don't know Ellen you tell me.'

She gave me a look and I chuckled and said ,'Yes I am seeing someone.'

Ellen rubbed her hands and said ,'Now we are getting information. How long have you been together?'

I thought and calculated and said ,'It's been seven months.'

Ellen nodded and said ,'So it's this guy.'

I looked at the picture she was talking about and surely enough it was Adonis and I at the football game and the ones of me on his back going into McDonalds. I covered my face as it was heating up, of course Ellen had pictures.

I looked up and Ellen said ,'Well is it?'

I laughed and she said ,'It is, I'm calling it.'

Ellen then said ,'He looks familiar, oh now I know where I saw him, he was in Forbes.'

The audience oohed and ahhed and I blushed. Ellen then added a quick ,'This boy has money, this new boy of yours.'

I laughed and she said ,'So now will you tell us his name or maybe I'll just pull up the article.'

I gave Ellen a look and I said ,'His name is Adonis.'

Ellen smiled obviously happy that she had got me to say it and I said ,'That's all I say about that he's a very private person.'

Ellen put up her hands and said ,'Okay fine, let's talk about the present you put on your story instead.'

I look at Ellen unbelievably and she said ,'I just want context of why he got the present for you. Uhm he got it for you right?'

I smiled shyly and said ,'Yeah he did get the present for me.'

Ellen smiled and said ,'Look at you all shy. Okay tell them what he got you and why and everything.'

I sighed and said ,'Okay so one of my latest campaigns had been released and there was a billboard playing the campaign literally facing his office.'

Ellen stopped me and said, 'The campaign for the perfume.'

I nodded and said ,'Yeah that one.'

Ellen continued and said ,'And there is a billboard where the campaign plays facing his office?'

I nodded enthusiastically and said ,'Yeah like what a coincidence right? Anyways on Monday he came and he was really like excited about something which is weird because almost nothing excites him.'

The audience laughed and I was enjoying telling the story in all honesty. I continued and said ,'So I was like what has you excited and he took me to his office and there the billboard was. After he showed me the billboard and I think I may have disappointed him with my lack of excitement he took me home and there was this box of like the most beautiful pink roses but and I kid you not guys it was a huge box , like it wasn't a small box.'

I heard the audience gasp and I looked behind me and the picture from my story was there. I nodded, pointed at the screen behind me and said ,'Yeah those and I turned to him and said you joker.'

The audience laughed and Ellen asked ,'Why did you call him joker?'

I pointed at the picture again and said ,'That is a lot of flowers. I obviously love them but it's too much just for doing my job. I hate getting surprise gifts because then I feel bad.'

The audience awed and Ellen said ,'Don't say aww, why do you feel bad?'

I looked at her incredulously and said ,'I wouldn't have got the person a gift too.'

Ellen gave me a look and I said ,'I'm just going to get him a present too, so we are even.'

Ellen shook her head ,I laughed and Ellen said, 'We'll be back after the break with more of Lily Hart.'

I smiled and took a sip of the water that was there. After the break we finished the rest of the segments and I was on my way back to my new home.

When I got to the house I walked in and heard shouting. It was coming from the kitchen and it sounded like it was Adonis and Mrs Hamilton.

I heard Adonis sigh and say ,'I'm not going mum and that is final.'

I saw Adonis walk up the stairs and I went to the kitchen. Mrs Hamilton saw me walk in, she wiped her tears and said ,'Hey Lily, how are you?'

I gave her an empathetic smile and said ,'Hi Mrs Hamilton, I'm good, how are you?'

She sighed and said ,'I'll be fine.'

I nodded and she said , 'I'll see you around Lily.'

I decided to walk her out and said ,'Let me walk you out.'

I walked her out and nothing was said. I turned to her when we got to her car and I said, 'I'll try talk to Adonis about whatever is going on.'

Shs smiled and squeezed me in a hug and she got into the car. Her driver ran around and they drove off.

I walked to the house with the thought of getting Adonis to do what his mum wanted him to do. I walked up the stairs because he had gone up the stairs and checked in our room first which he wasn't there. I decided to go check in his office.

I got to his office and knocked and I heard him grunt a come in. I walked in and said ,'Hey.'

He looked up at me and said ,'Hi Rose, what's up?'

I looked at him and his hair showed that he had run his hand through his hair multiple times. He had bags under his eyes and he looked like he was already mildly irritated.

I sat on the chair opposite him and said ,'I saw your mum downstairs.'

He sighed and I said ,'Whatever you guys were fighting about seemed important to her maybe you should reconsider.'

He looked at me sternly but I refused to be intimidated and he said ,'No.'

I looked at him and said ,'No?'

He nodded and said ,'No.'

I got a bit irritated and said ,' If it's something that your mum is begging you to do, don't you think the least you can do is do it?'

He stood up and said ,'She doesn't get it.'

I stood up too and in a soft voice said ,'She's your mother Adonis, she wouldn't do something that was bad for you.'

I walked out of his office and went to our room. I had a dinner with the girls tonight and so I had to go get ready for it.

I went and took a shower and got ready for the dinner. We hadn't gotten together in a bit because we'd all been do busy so we had decided we were going to have a girl's dinner.

I picked up my phone from my vanity table and walked deeper into the walk in closet to where my all my bags were arranged and packed. I picked a bag and put my wallet inside with my lipgloss . Benjamin was driving me because we were probably going to drink whilst at dinner.

I picked up my phone and as I was putting it in my bag I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw Adonis, he had a towel around his waist and I looked at his chest which was very defined and muscular. I stared at his chest for a bit and then I remembered that this chest belonged to someone and I snapped out of it.

I whispered an apology and Adonis said ,'You're going out.'

I nodded and said ,'Yeah I have dinner with Nicole and Jane. That's okay right?'

He nodded and said ,'Yeah of course, that's okay.'

I looked up at him and he still looked upset. I gave him a tight lipped smile and began walking away and he held my arm. I looked back at him and he said ,'You were right about the thing with my mum and I said yes.'

I smiled at him and said ,'That's good Adonis.'

Adonis gave me a brief forced smile and said ,'It's a wedding and it's in a week.'

I nodded and said ,'Uhm am I coming?'

He looked past me and said ,'Yes you are.'

I nodded and held his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek and walked away.

I got to the restaurant and Benjamin dropped me off and left. I walked into the restaurant and the maitre d saw me and took me to a table where Jane and Nicole were sitting . Jane, Nicole and I always had our girl dinners here and I'm sure people from this restaurant knew us. As I got close to the table I started dancing slightly as I walked and Jane and Nicole laughed at me. I walked up to them and hugged them and we took a seat.

The waiter came and we ordered our first round of drinks which were three bloody marys.

I smiled and said ,'How is everyone doing?'

Nicole grinned and said ,'Amazing.'

Jane grinned too and said ,'I'm amazing too.'

I smiled at my friends joy and said ,'Who is going first?'

Jane pointed at Nicole said ,'She is.'

Nicole playfully rolled her eyes and said ,'Well Connor came to Paris whilst I was doing a show. '

I gasped and said ,'No fucking way.'

She nodded enthusiastically and said ,'I was walking down the runway and I see Connor in the front row. I didn't know if he was there for me so I just went backstage and got ready to go back to the hotel and he came backstage. He was holding the largest bouquet of tulips ever and you guys know they are my favorite. Anyways I was really cold towards him but he took me for dinner and he apologised and told me like why he did what he did and I caved.'

Jane looked at her and said ,'What was his explanation?'

Nicole said ,'Well he was scared because we were moving super fast and he hadn't been in a relationship in a while and the last girl he had been with was a bitch guys I was shocked, this girl has to be the worst.'

I said ,'Oh that seems like a decent reason to me.'

Jane nodded and Nicole said ,'Yeah well we've been inseperable since and just when I think he can't get better he does.'

I smiled and said ,'Awww Nicole look at you. You look so happy and I'm happy for you.'

Nicole covered her face and said ,'I really am and I have a good feeling about him.'

I nodded and said ,'Me too, you guys seem perfect.'

Our drinks came and we did a toast and the night went on.

Jane took a sip and said ,'My turn.'

Nicole and I nodded and she said ,'Well we went had our date at his house and it might have been the most nervous I've ever seen Ben guys. It was kind of cute because he is always so confident ,I just didn't see it coming. '

Nicole and I gave a look saying well go on. She smiled and said ,'I slept over but we didn't do it.'

I frowned and said ,'And why not?'

She gave us a sweet smile and said ,'It's simple really, I don't do that on the first date.'

I rolled my eyes and said ,'That is bullshit and you know it.'

Jane said ,'No I'm serious.'

Nicole gave her an incredulous look and said ,'How about Jacob, Andy, Peter , that jerk Calvin to name a few.'

Jane frowned and said ,'Okay fine, I just wanted this time to be different.'

Nicole and I each held a hand and I said ,'Jane of course it's going to be different you guys have had feelings for each other for almost ever. '

Jane smiled and said ,'Thanks you guys.'

Nicole turned to me and said ,'Now you missy.'

I sipped my bloody mary and said ,'What about me?'

I knew they were referring to Adonis and I. As much as we are friendly now, I don't know him not in the way that Connor and Nicole were or Jane and Ben. Adonis and I weren't even proper friends , he didn't know me that well and I didn't know him that well either. The sides of him I did know though I was falling for.

Nicole gave me a look that said ,'Really?'

I shrugged and said ,'We are like roommates and that's just it. I mean we've kissed like twice and we had a moment, he bought me roses but that was about it.'

Nicole nodded and said ,'How about at your house?'

I took another sip and said ,'The man is never there seriously. He is gone before I wake up and I'm asleep before he's back from work or sometimes he's working in his office.'

Nicole nods and says ,'Connor is the same, it's like they don't know a life with less work maybe you need to talk to him.'

I nodded and said ,'Yeah maybe but I said I wouldn't disturb his job and stuff.'

Jane scoffed and said ,'Chile you aren't telling him to stop working you literally ,you just want time, you guys are getting married. Married. He can't be working like he doesn't have a girlfriend at home.'

Our dinner went well and we even started on a business plan for a new swimwear line Nicole and I were collaborating on. We were having a meeting next week with Jane and her team so it would be our first collaboration with the three of us.

I got to the house and walked in whilst taking off my coat. I walked into the living room and Adonis was sitting on the couch watching tv. I looked at the time on my watch and I said ,'Hey Adonis, you're still up it's a little past midnight.'

He got up and said ,'Yeah I couldn't sleep.'

I gave him a questioning look and said, 'Why, are you okay?'

He nodded and I teasingly said ,'Do you want cookies and milk?'

When we were kids Adonis always had milk and cookies before he napped or slept, it was like he couldn't do without.

He narrowed his eyes at me and said ,'Maybe.'

I laughed and I was about to go upstairs and he said ,'Aren't you coming with me?'

I gave him a look and said ,'Oh my gosh, you're serious.'

He shrugged and took my hand and dragged me to the kitchen. He went for the cookies and I poured him some milk and just took a bottle of water for myself.

I placed the milk in front of him and he said ,'Aren't you having milk.'

I shook my head and said ,'No, water I was drinking at dinner.'

He nodded and sat next to me and said ,'How was dinner?'

I smiled and said ,'It was good.'

This was my opportunity to talk to him about everything but I didn't want to, I was scared.

We went up to the bedroom and I went to shower. I walked out of our ensuite bathroom and into our walk in closet. I put on my pyjamas and moisturised my skin then walked back into the room. I thought Adonis was asleep but apparently not because I was walking back and Adonis was sitting up in the bed with his laptop on.

I rolled my eyes and walked up to him and shut his laptop and on his side table. He looked at me and said ,'I was going some work, you know.'

I rolled my eyes and said ,'At two in the morning?'

He nodded and I said ,'Gosh just give me a break and go to sleep.'

He chuckled but I was actually pissed off. I got into our bed and I turned to face away from him and I was fuming.

I heard him move closer to me and I pretended to not notice anything and ignore him. He put his arms around me, pulled me closer and snuggled into me. I was stiff for awhile but I ended up relaxing and falling asleep to the sound of Adonis's breathing and the feeling of his breathe on my neck.
