“What? She found out?”

In an office on the top floor in a high-class office building which was located in JD City’s CBD business district.

Kaysorn jumped from the chair. He fell harshly onto the edge of the table because he used too much force on his lame leg. He grimaced in pain.

“Shit! How did she find out! Impossible!”

Kaysorn’s face was twisted. He walked around the table and went up to his underling, Black Tiger. He clenched Black Tiger’s neck with his unhurt hand and said, “Repeat yourself! What happened?”

Black Tigerwas the one responsible to poison the target last night. He was not sighted and did a clean job. He left the pub immediately after the job and also broke all the surveillance cameras in the pub. He was also puzzled at what happened.

“The incident about Riley being poisoned was out. The evidence was pointing towards the bar. The latest news was that Riley said that she knew who the criminal was before she passed out. The bitch is still unconscious, but the truth will be out once she wakes up... Young master, she saw you last night at the bar... She’s not dumb, she’ll definitely know that it was you.

Kaysorn’s hand which was grabbing his underling’s neck suddenly went limp and he let go. He wasn’t wrong, Riley was intelligent. She would figure out that it was him...

“But, young master. Even if she thought that it was you, she didn’t have any evidence. The police shouldn’t be able to charge you with anything,”

asked Black Tigercarefully.

“What do you know! Knowing Euan, he would probably kill everyone until he found the culprit...not to mention...” He looked at his wound. He was just fooling around the other day and Euan almost killed him. He would be dead meat if Euan were to find out about this.

“Riley the bitch would tell Euan that she saw me, and Euan would kill me...No, he wouldn’t just kill me, he would...”

Kaysorn’s pupils enlarged. He didn’t want to imagine how Euan would torture him!

Euan was a sick bastard!

“Then, then what should we do now?” Black Tiger’s was trembling.

Kaysorn clenched his fist and his dark pupil’s constricted, “We failed to poison her last time, but we would succeed this time! We have to put an end to this, let’s kill her before she wakes up!”

Black Tiger was taken aback, “But young master, she is kept in a protected ward in the JD Central Hospital, that’s not good for us.”

Kaysorn smirked wintrily, “Then we’ll make her come to us. Either she dies or we die, Listen, Black Tiger...”

Black Tiger’s face turned black and then it turned pale listening to Kaysorn’s plan. And then he smiled eerily.

“You’re so brilliant, young master. This is a great idea! The bitch is dead meat this time!”

Kaysorn sneered and snorted ominously, “Not only that! Euan broke my arm and my nose bridge. He made me a cripple. I must take my revenge!”

“What...what are you planning to do, young master?”

Kaysorn raised his pointer finger and slid it across his neck, “Kill him as well!”

In the hospital ward, the poison in Riley’s body was removed. Though her body was really weak and she was told to rest in the hospital for further observation.

She was used to being busy and was bored doing nothing. She walked around the large and empty VIP ward and suddenly, her phone rang.

“Dr...Dr. Watson...Rescue...save me...”

She could hear someone dying on the other end of the phone, the person sounded very weak!

Riley tensed up, “What happened? Stay calm and tell me about it.”

“My heart...heart attack...” The patient’s voice trailed off and they sounded like they were about to die any second.

“Where are you? Tell me your location, quick!”

Riley held her phone with one hand and put on her shoes with the other. She grabbed a jacket and ran out of the room.

“I’m at...XH road...please...”

And then there was no more sound coming from the other end of the phone.

As Riley was about to run out of the room, she was stopped by a person who looked like a bodyguard, “You cannot leave.”

“Let go of me! My patient is in trouble. I don’t care whose order is it, let go of me this instant!”

XH road was not far away from the hospital. She thought that her old patient had to be on the way to the hospital for a check-up and had some complications. Otherwise, they wouldn’t know her number.

Riley ran to the intersection of the road. She looked around but she couldn’t see anybody.

Amidst searching, someone opened the door from the passenger’s seat of a black car and the person peeked out of the car, “Dr... Watson...”

“How are you feeling? Don’t worry, I’ll drive us to the hospital.”

The patient Riley’s main priority now. She quickly climbed into the car and kneeled on the car seat, trying to check the patient’s heartbeat and pulse.

Suddenly, the car door closed!

The man on the driver’s seat smiled menacingly, “Dr. Watson, you’re not very bright.”

“Who are you? Open the door!”

Riley then passed out from a blow on her head by a heavy object.

“What did you say? She disappeared? Damn it, you guys are dead meat!”

Elijah received a call from the people he placed to watch Riley in the hospital. He was about to flip the table. They wanted to use Riley to bait the criminal, but before the fish grabbed the bait and ran away with it instead!

Mr. George would kill them!

“Block all the road and check the surveillance cameras, quick！”

Euan was in the office when he heard the news. He hurled the stack of cash he was holding harshly onto the ground. He walked around relentlessly and said, “A bunch of useless people! Check the surveillance cameras and check every person in it... and check Riley’s call log as well!”

Euan threw the phone against the wooden table, “Fuck!”

The person grabbed her right under his nose.

10 minutes had passed.

“Mr. George, we found out that she was last seen at XH road. She went into a black Lexus and the car plate was covered.”

“How about her call log?”

“The last call was from a webphone and it wasn’t traceable. Mr. George, this was a plotted kidnap.”

Euan’s keen eyes were ice-cold. A plotted kidnap? Then the person behind this had to be the same person who tried to poison her. She didn’t die from the poison and the person was trying to finish the job.

Who did she anger?

Riley’s head was throbbing after being hit so hard by the heavy object. She tried to open her eyes and she noticed that she was in an empty, abandoned room. The windows had spider webs on them and the sunlight shining through the window was blinding her eyes. She squinted her eyes uncomfortably.

“Yo, you’re up, pretty.”

Who was that?!

Riley was about to turn around when she realized that she was tied to a pillar. She couldn’t move her hands and her torso was bounded as well. She struggled as hard as she could, but she only felt pain on her wrist from the rope burn.

“Don’t waste your energy, you’re not getting away.”

The man was wearing a mask and was holding a sharp blade. She couldn’t see his face and he was slowly approaching her. He caressed her face with the blade. The cold metal felt like a snake slithering on her face. She felt a shiver down her spine and got goosebumps all over.

“Who are you? Why did you bring me here?”

Riley didn’t even look at the blade. She tried to be calm and not get intimidated by this person.

“Well, I’m someone you know of course. Otherwise, why would I put so much effort to invite you here?”

The person sounded vile, he had to be a dangerous person!

Riley squinted her keen eyes, “Which bastard wanted to see me? Make him show his face!”

“You have such a strong personality, you’re indeed Euan’s woman. You’ve been with him for so long and even your temper is similar to his,” said the man as he laughed eerily. He caressed her face with the blade continuously, her skin was sliced open and she started to bleed.

“What are you laughing at? Tell your boss to show his face. What, he has the guts to bring me here but not the guts to see me?”

Riley tried to show him that she wasn’t afraid at all. She watched a lot of movies about kidnapping and she knew that the kidnappers would only be more nefarious with their extortion if she showed her fear and tried to beg them to release her.

But she thought about it and she had nothing to give them.

Unless they involved Euan...

“Don’t be in such a rush. The other VIP is not here yet, why will our boss show his face so soon?”

The man was messing around with Riley’s phone, “Do you want to see your husband for the last time before you die? Euan, the second-to-none tycoon. How ironic it would be if the legend in the real estate world were to die here...”

“You guys want to kidnap him? You guys must be bonkers.”

“We are betting on you. Betting on if Euan would come here and die for you. How does that sound?” The man was fiddling around with her phone.

The phone’s lock code already cracked and he looked up Euan’s number. He showed it to her.

“He won’t come! We are not...”

The phone call went through.

Euan was looking into the incident when he suddenly saw her number calling. He tensed up violently and said, “Where are you?!”

“Mr. George, calm down.”

It wasn’t her!

“I’ll make you die a horrible death if you dare to harm a hair on her head!” The vein on Euan’s forehead was popping and his hand which was holding the phone was boiling.

Riley shook her head repeatedly, she tried to make some noise and wanted to tell him not to get tricked. But her mouth was taped, and she could make undecipherable noises.

“Don’t get fooled! Euan, you’re a smart person. Don’t get fooled.’

Euan heard Riley’s muffled voice and was sure that Riley was on their hands.

“Mr. George, I don’t care if you kill me... But Mrs. George will be accompanying me so that I won’t be lonely.”

Euan raised his hand and stopped the people who were looking into the phone number and checking the surveillance camera. The room turned dead silent.

“Tell me, what do you want from me?”

He was calm, stern and cold.

His frigid calmness stormed across the room like an electromagnetic wave.

“Well, you have money. I’m a bit tight with money recently, would you give me a helping hand?”

Riley heard that and knew immediately that it was a lie. They wanted Euan’s life! The money was only a disguise!

“Don’t get fooled, Euan!’

There was no emotion on Euan’s face, but he was slightly sweating, “How much?”

“Five hundred million. That’s nothing to you, right?”

Five hundred million was indeed not much to him, “Fine, five hundred million. Time and location?”

“Hahaha! Do you think that we are so easy to fool, Mr. George? Why would we tell you the time and location now? To expose ourselves?”

“Shut up! Tell me now if you want the money!”

Euan was raging in anger and he yelled into the phone!

Suddenly, he heard a grunt. Riley got kicked in the stomach!

He then heard a suppressed groan.

Euan frowned and he clenched his fist!

“Mr. George, be nicer if you don’t want us to hurt her. She’s now my cash cow and I can do anything I want to her before I get the money.”

The man was taken aback, but he quickly said, “Make it a sovereign bond then. You can manage that I believe.”

Euan frowned deeply, “Fine.”

“Great, I’ll be waiting for your arrival, Mr. George.”

Before he hung up, Euan yelled, “I can give you the money, but before that, I want to know that she is safe. Give her the phone!”
