Chapter 44
Rose with Thorns
Chapter 44 Just as Yvette was about to sit down, Alexâs stem voice sliced through the tension. âWho said you could sit?â
Yvette remained unfazed by Alexâs blatant hostility. She raised an eyebrow and took her seat.
âIâm part of the Murray family, so why canât I sit?â Despite Yvetteâs calm demeanor, her presence was inexplicably intimidating âYou...!â Alex exclaimed.
Stunned by Yvetteâs audacity, Alex redirected his fury at Yara. âLook at what youâve raisedâan illâmannered brat who dares talk back to her ellers! Absolutely no respect!â
Even the usually composed Yara couldnât conceal her darkened expression as she heard Alex insult Yvette harshly.
âYou and that brat donât deserve to sit at this table!â Alex yelled, then turned to Yasmin. âWeâll eat. They donât deserve to be here!â
commanding voice interrupted.
Sean couldnât contain his anger any longer and was about to rise when a cold, c No one will eat, then.â H Yvetteâs stunning eyes flashed with icy fury. With a loud âbangâ, she flipped the entire dining table over. No one would eat if she and Yara werenât allowed to.
Sean was awestruck by her boldness. If it werenât for the setting, he would have applauded her on the spot. He even felt a surge of admiration, thinking he wouldnât mind being her loyal follower.
âYou cough, cough... You ungrateful wretch!â
Seeing the mess, Alex felt his authority challenged. His eyes bore into Yvetteâs with even more hostility, and his body trembled with rage.
if âGrandpa...â Yasmin began, her voice dripping with accusation. âYvie, Grandpaâs health is already poor. How could you provoke him? What it something happens to him because of your actions?â
Wetteâs voice was cold as she spouted, âHe wonât die just yet.!
Wette meant it. Even if Alex was at deathâs door, she could still save him as long as she wanted to. But her blunt honesty only fueled Alexâs auger, making him tremble even more.
Seeing Alex on the verge of a breakdown, Yara became anxious and pleaded gently, âYvic, apologize to your Grandpa. Tell him you were wrong.
People would undoubtedly condemn Yvette for being unfilialit Alex had a heart attack because of her.
âI did nothing wrong,â Yvette replied. Her expression was grim, making her look even more intimidating. âUngrateful brat!â Alexâs face twisted with fury as he slammed the table. âGet out of this house!â
Wetteâs eyebrows arched lazily, her tone defiant. âFine Just donât come begging me to return.ââ
She had noted the signs of Alexâs serious illness the second she stepped in the dark circles under his eyes, the taint blue tint to his lips, and his overall poor spirit. He was on the brink of a significant health crisis.
âMe? Beg you to return?â Alex snoered. âDream on!
