Chapter 3

Stupid Ass Poem About You

Rough Drafts: A Collection Of Badly Written Short Stories and Poems

Dear you know who.

I hate you.

I hate you for becoming the person I always knew you could be

so why couldn't you just be that person for me?

Why do you come, and then go,

arrive, and then leave?

Do you hate me so greatly

that you must show affections

through the art of stimulation

through simple heart-to-heart contemplations

and then leave me hanging on a thread

alone with nothing but incompetent intellectual competition

as a replacement?

There are unspoken words

between the chapters of our conversations

that if said aloud would not be denied,

but will not change the situations.

So we don't speak at all about the things we really want to say,

we only discuss topics that distract us from our feelings that are prey

to the tips of our tongues.

Don't worry.

I don't think about you.

or wonder if you're OK.

But I suppose if that were true,

there wouldn't be this stupid poem about you.
