Chapter 940
When His Eyes Opened
Chapter 940 Avery rushed out the door almost immediately.
Mikeâs reflexes were quick and he grabbed her in the nick of time!
âAvery! Elliot and Jun have already picked her up. Sheâs no longer in danger!â Mike looked at her cold,
resentful eyes and took a deep breath. âDonât be impulsive like her! Sheâs already an adult now, not a
child! Do you think she did the right thing when she went recklessly to Rosacus City all by herself?â
Avery yanked his arm away. âHer actions are wrong, but what you said earlier was wrong too. Donât tell a
person to be kind if youâve never experienced what they went through. Youâve never gone through her
pain, so you have no right to judge her.â Her words left Mike speechless and there was no way for him to
resist. âIâll be frank with you. Elliot was the one who told me to come back and keep watch over you. He
said heâd bring Tammy back unharmed.â Mike dragged Avery onto the sofa and sat her down, âIt takes
two hours to go to Rosacus City and another two to come back. That makes four hours. Youâre feeling
unwell, right? Itâd be best for you not to go through all that.â Averyâs eyes turned red. She pursed her red
lips and kept quiet. Mike was helpless when he saw her like that. âCome on, donât do that! If you really
want to go, Iâll drive you there. Itâs not a big deal. But I must say that Tammy âNo! Donât talk about her!â
Avery interrupted. âTammy wouldnât have chosen to do something stupid if she had other ways to relieve
the pain in her heart.â Mike raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. âI wasnât going to accuse her of
anything. I was just going to tell you to persuade her when she comes back. She canât continue down
this road. Aside from the danger sheâll bring to herself, Jun probably wonât be patient enough to tolerate
her all the time.â
Avery shot him a cold look.
He covered his mouth and said, âOkay, I think itâs better for me not to say anything. But donât just ignore
what I said. What she did today was just too dangerous. Chad said that Chelsea would have killed and
skinned Tammy on the spot if she still had that temper from before.â Averyâs expression turned gloomy
and she said emphatically, âIf Chelsea had the guts to do that, Iâd dig up her ancestorâs graves in addition
to killing her.â ââ¦Hey now, take it easy there! Iâll get you a glass of water. Calm down.â Avery sighed
heavily.
All of a sudden, Robert burst into tears in the babyed cot.
She immediately stood up and carried the baby.
âDid I scare you because my tone was too fierce earlier?â she said apologetically, âIâm sorry, Darling. I
forgot you werezo there.â
âRobert is probably hungry. He last drank milk two hours ago.â Mrs. Cooper came over immediately when
she heard the child crying. âIâll make him some.â
Mike came over with a glass of water and put it on the table. He then took Robert from here8 arms,
âHave you eaten lunch yet?â Avery asked.
âIâm not hungry. Iâll eat when I am.â Mike gestured at the water glass on the table with his chin. âThatâs
for24 you.â
Avery picked up the water glass and took a sip.
âI heard that you went out pretty early today. Iâm sure youâre feeling really tired now, so why donât you get
some sleep? They wonât be back until evening.â Mike said, âHayden and Laylaâs birthdays are tomorrow.
What are you going to do if your exhaustion spills over toce tomorrow?â Mikeâs words calmed Avery
down successfully. Back at Rosacus City, Elliot and Jun managed to smoothly meet Tammy when they
arrived at the police26 station. Her state of mind was beyond what they had imagined. Not only was she
not crying, but there were also no signs of fear or remorse on her face either. She did not seem surprised
or grateful when she saw them, as if she had yet to exit her resentment-filled mindset.
âElliot,â Chelsea walked to Elliotâs side. âI didnât do anything to her. She was the one who almost killed
me.â
Chelseaâs neck was tied with gauze.
âDo you think you deserve pity?â Elliot retorted indifferently. âI wouldnât pity you even if Tammy did kill
you. You should have died a long time ago.â
