Chapter 1733
When His Eyes Opened
Avery wanted to find a reason to answer her daughter, but couldnât find a suitable reason.
Her daughter was no longer a child of two or three years old, and the reason was too false to deceive
her.
âLayla, your mother was sick before, and the doctor told her not to play with her phone, so she made you
a video call now but now she is also sick too.â Avery answered her daughter half-truth, âMomâs illness is
not serious, and it is now healed. Originally, your mother wanted to go back to Aryadelle to find you and
your brother, but your father wonât let me find you.â
âWoohoo! Bad dad. He wonât let you come to me and Robert, so Iâll take Robert to you.â Layla frowned.
Se said fiercely, âIâm not afraid of him!â
Avery said, âLayla, your studies are more important now. When you have winter vacation, you can come
to Bridgedale to find your mother, okay? When the time comes Iâll ask Hayden to pick you up, or you can
ask your uncle Eric to bring you here. You can study hard now. Robert is too young to take him abroad.
Can we discuss it when you are on winter vacation?â
Layla stretched her hands to wipe her tears: âOkay mom, can you make video call me every day in the
future? If you canât every day, you can called me every two days!â
Avery thought for a while and replied: âIf itâs convenient for you in the future, you can call mom. Momâs
phone will be turned on in the future.â
Layla: âYou donât want dad to see our video call, right?â
âWell. I donât want to quarrel with him.â Avery explained the reason, âBecause you and Robert are still
living by his side, Mom doesnât want to conflict with him.â
Layla: âMom, what can I do?â
Layla really wanted to do something to change the current situation.
âAs long as you are healthy, study hard, unite with Robert, and grow up obediently, thatâs fine.â Avery
knew that her daughter wanted to leave Elliot and come to her side, but there was no way to do that at
the moment.
Layla pursed her mouth and felt uncomfortable for a while, and asked, âMom, do you want to see
Robert?â
Avery didnât think about it: âWell, your mother misses him too.â
âWait!â Layla took the phone, got out of bed quickly, and ran towards her brotherâs room.
Robert was still sleeping.
Layla climbed onto Robertâs bed and pointed the camera at Robert.
âLook Mom, Robert is still sleeping.â Layla straightened Robertâs little face on the side, âLook at him, has
he grown up too?â
Avery looked at Robertâs chubby little face and endured it. She could nât stop smiling: âLayla, let Robert
sleep! Itâs time for you to get up and go to school.â
âMom, I canât bear to hang up.â Layla reluctantly parted.
Avery was reluctant to hang up, but after watching the screen for a while, her eyes began to swell. She
canât look at her phone anymore.
âMom has a stomachache and has to go to the bathroom.â After making an excuse, Avery hung up the
video.
After she finished the video, Mike pushed open her door. Just now Avery was speaking, and Mike heard
it outside.
âI made a video call for Layla.â Avery saw him come in and said frankly, âI finished reading Laylaâs diary,
and I couldnât hold back.â
âItâs okay. Iâm worried about your eyes.â Mike could understand her videotaping Layla.
It was because his eyes were sick that he couldnât help but start playing with his mobile phone long ago.
Avery: âMy eyes are a little swollen. Iâm going to rest.â
âThen go to sleep. Iâll come in and see, itâs all right.â Mike stood at the door and didnât come in, âBy the
way, Elliot called me today. I know where I heard the news, and know that our family hired a nurse. He
called me to ask me what was wrong with you, and you asked for a nurse. I scolded him. â
Avery was shocked.
âDonât you think I shouldnât scold him?â Mike scratched his head, âI couldnât be mad at the time! While he
was going to ruin your career, he pretended to care about your health. Iâve never seen such a bad man.â
